The argument made by the speaker Salif Mahamane is and portrays logos and pathos on many occasions throughout his speech. However, he lacks information that appeals to ethos. His hypothesis is that ADHD is not a disorder, but instead those who are diagnosed with this particular neuro-cognitive profile are misunderstood. Their schools, home and even themselves have lost patience and are forced to behave and think based on a narrow and subjective perspective. The speaker includes various instances in his speech where he shows the audience examples of ethos. However, he could have explained more in depth about his research that he has done and the results to ensure that he is more creditable. And that is a rebellion, to adapt to societies views on what is and is not right or normal. This allows for a larger portion of the audience to understand that in his eyes he doesn’t have a disorder. It is only those in his surroundings that excite the negativity that he has towards these characteristics of his true self. The rhetor displayed logos and pathos throughout his speech well and relied heavily on them. By doing so we could understand his own perspective that he has on his own diagnosis, that he doesn’t have a disorder but characteristics that are only looked upon as negative because of societies views upon it. At one point in time they were advantageous and the sole reason for your survival. However, he lacks some evidence that appeals to ethos.
