I have applied to Saint Ignatius College Prep because I think that it is the right school for me. Saint Ignatius is a place where I feel that I can be pushed to my limits to learn as much as I can as well as meet lots of new people. I love the esthetic of the school and how kind everyone is to each other. I believe that Saint Ignatius is the place for me because everyone is open to new ideas and others' opinions. Saint Ignatius is a place where I can excel in both learning and extra-curricular related activities. Over the summer, I took a classical mythology class at Saint Ignatius and I learned so much from Dr. Wood (the teacher). Throughout my time at Saint Ignatius over the summer, I learned so much about the school and discovered many more
There are several reasons why I would like to attend the Woodbridge Academy. Academically, a spectacular learning environment makes a superb school. Some examples of a great learning environment are class sizes being smaller, there is amazing collaboration between the students and faculty, and the school counselors will always be determined and will lead the student in the right direction. Another reason, why I would like to join the academy is what the academy provides. The Woodbridge Academy is a school that provides Allied Health and Biomedical Sciences which is perfect because my future dream is to become a pediatrician and Woodbridge Academy can prepare me for career. Additionally, Woodbridge Academy has high standards for teaching which
In 1970 the nation was in its highest state of controversy. The generation gap that had begun to form in the sixties was now more of a ravine. The youth of America was finally standing up and raising their voices in protest against all the problems that plagued the country they would have control of in years to come. There were many events that helped in feeding the flame in the hearts of Americans. One such event was the Kent State University incident. It is an event that touched the nation and made such a profound mark, and yet it only lasted for thirteen seconds. In the thirteen seconds the Ohio National Guard, along with the rest of government by association, established themselves as the new enemy. All eyes were on them, scrutinizing their every move, pointing out every mistake they made. Interestingly enough, most don’t even really know exactly what went on in those thirteen seconds, but they knew that it left four students dead and nine injured at the hand of the National Guard, so that was enough to strike the hearts on millions. Still today, twenty-nine years later, we still don’t really know what went on. Who fired the first shot, and were they provoked? Was it necessary for the National Guard to be present on this typically calm college campus in the first place? And why did it have to end in such tragedy? There are so many questions, and so many misconceptions about this incident, and like any controversial issue, there are always two sides to the story.
I remember attending St. Mary’s open house when I was in fifth grade and instantly knew that it was something special. Unlike most people, I have the unique perspective of going to both a public school and a Catholic school. St. Mary is very different from my old school. Looking back at my time here, I realize that St.Mary is a much better fit for me. It is a better fit socially, academically, and spiritually.
To start, I believe that I should be accepted because I love helping out in my school, but I would love to help out even more. I’d be very happy if I got in because to me that would give me
Mario Andretti once said, “Desire is the key to motivation, but it's determination and commitment to an unrelenting pursuit of your goal - a commitment to excellence - that will enable you to attain the success you seek.” Andretti’s words are as true today as when he spoke them. Everyday should be a continuous journey to get to your goal. Starting off with the right step is a major component. Therefore, I chose to apply to Stanly Early College High. I believe that I have the ability to work up to Stanly Early College standards. Determination, dedication, and desire are all qualities that I have.
Oral Roberts was 17 years old when his life was changed by a dramatic religious experience. It was late July 1935 when his older brother Elmer took him to be healed. The 6 foot tall young man who only weighed 120 pounds was stricken with Tuberculosis. In the car on the way to the revival Oral sensed that cosmic forces were focused on him. He was prepared to be healed when Geo. W. Moncey, an evangelist and divine healer prayed upon Oral. Automatically Oral was healed. Previous to the healing Oral had been too weak to stand up on his own, all of a sudden he jumped up on the stage and ran back and forth shouting he was healed..
I am a very hard worker and if you review both of my college histories you will see that I don’t like to take too long through school as I know I am meant to do great things, to help so many families. I know with the superb education from Saint Joseph 's University I will be an extremely effective and able person.
While I wish finding my way around the school was my only problem, I was faced with some internal challenges. As the school year started, my friends slowly started to leave to these “big shot” colleges or simply move away to other community colleges. I, too, wanted the complete “college experience” somewhere in Arizona or across the country; yet I felt stuck and unaccomplished. I also felt jealousy which could have been because I did not get to decorate my dorm room. While talking about dedicating hard work to your education, Gina Rodriguez said “Just remember, during those times of fear and doubt, that you are right now discovering your true strength.” And in those times of doubt, I reminded myself why I could not just move and leave everything behind. The root of my challenges and concerns are my family. As I enrolled as a full time student, my family was fighting some financial problems which created marriage troubles for my parents. I could not leave at a time like this. I knew it was not the first time my parents were talking divorce but somehow I knew it was best to stay. I got financial aid from the school which saved me the fuss of asking my parents for money. It really meant so much to not put another worry on their
I was born in a small village in the outskirts of Uzbekistan. It is one of the poorest and most isolated areas of the country. The economy of the region, as well as of the whole country was supported by the Soviet Union. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, Uzbekistan was burdened with high unemployment, rapid inflation, and shattered infrastructure that could not support any economic revival. Most families, especially those in suburbs of the country, were struggling to get by. Consequently, most students in my village could not even dream about going to a university. I was one of those students. However, in 2005, I participated and became one of the finalists of the Future Leaders Exchange (FLEX) program. The program was administered by the State Department of the United States (US); it gave an opportunity to students with outstanding academic record to study in the US high school for a year. At that point, I knew that there was a chance that someday I might be able to go to a university.
Notre Dame Cathedral is a Catholic church built 668 years ago in Paris, France. Notre Dame translates to “Our Lady” in French. The cathedral was built on the site of the former Saint Etienne basilica, which was Paris’ first Christian church. In ancient times there was a temple to the Roman god Jupiter on the site. Construction on the cathedral began in 1163 CE while Louis VII was king of France.
I have applied to the MUJCESOM because West Virginia is my home and I have strong family ties to the state. My father received his PhD from a West Virginian state school and has been an educator at different universities in the state for more than 40 years. Additionally, I have a desire to continue expanding my knowledge by working on research projects and I know that MU has taken great strides in expanding their research programs and facilities. Furthermore, I feel that the small class sizes at the MUJCESOM would be greatly beneficial in that it would allow me to have a more personalized experience in medical school. I believe that I can become a great physician by getting my medical education at the MUJCESOM and then giving back to my home
In high school, I went through a rough patch because my parents were looking to get divorced. The eventually settled their differences and that has impacted me in huge ways. I had a rough time getting through this time in high school, and it has been difficult for me to be this far away from home. One day, my favorite teacher in high school, Mr. Gallagher, said “Your family has given you every tool you could possibly need to succeed in life. Life can be rough but they are just looking out for what’s best for you and you need to be the one to take control of your life. Its ok to miss them, but you need to separate yourself to realize how much you have learned from this rough time.” I have always respected him more than anyone I have ever known. Mr. Gallagher wrote my letters of recommendation when I was applying to schools my senior year. My family is a huge part of my success in my life. I would love to be close to home. I think that I have grown a lot during these past few years, I have had a lot of life experience, and I know how to cope with things and I have learned how to keep myself focused. I know what work load I can successfully handle, and I know how to study well. I still have a lot to learn but I know that I can grow and experiencing more new and exciting things. I am so excited to have the opportunity to be able to attend Loyola University, and I hope I have the privilege to be able to attend this amazing
Brookfield Academy is a unique private school, that has a rich history of scholars graduating, and going to outstanding colleges. These colleges include, Harvard University, Brown University, and Yale University. Although the fee for entering Brookfield Academy is quite pricey, I think that it is the right school for me.

I highly value my education, and I commute about two hours every day to and from school. I went to a private catholic primary school and wanted to continue that education at a similar high school. However, my dad was laid off, while I was in eighth grade. Due to the high price of the private high schools, I decided that it would be best to go to a public high school. I transferred into another school district, in order to go to an academically challenging school that would give me a great educational foundation that I would be able to build upon in college. In the end, I was glad that I made that choice. I’ve made really good friends who have encouraged me to do my best, and I’ve also worked hard at achieving satisfaction with all of my
