In “The Hunger Games” by Suzanne Collins, The Capitol fails to keep Panem under control, giving Katniss and Peeta no choice but to fight for their lives. Sacrifice has to be made. Obstacles will occur. Some will make it, while some don't. The biggest theme about this book is survival and sacrifice Only one district will survive in the end. The chance of survival is thin. For example, Peeta from District 12 knows that the chance of him surviving in the arena is thin but if he can die as himself, with his humanity and dignity in place, he can face death.
