Prior to beginning the research design, VC was informed of the suggested research, as well as given a general understanding of the A-B-A design, as described in Royse, et al. VC was informed that her first week in the research design would consist of her exercising at her leisure, and documenting the amount of time spent exercising each day. The second full would, the B phase, would include the proposed intervention to motivate and encourage exercise. Finally, the last week would observe her workout schedule to determine if previous interventions caused the motivation level to remain high.
After significant discussion about the research design and the desired results for VC, it was agreed that a behavioral intervention would be the most beneficial. VC identifies books, movies, and music as preferred activities and likely motivators towards developing an exercise routine. It was agreed that in the intervention week, a monetary reward would be allotted for every 15 minutes spent exercising. Fifteen minutes would be rewarded with $1.25; thirty minutes would be rewarded with $2.50; and a full sixty minutes of exercise would be rewarded with $5. The intervention week would allow VC to earn a total of $35 dollars for an hour long work out on each day.
According to Kolotkin, Head, Hamilton, & Tse (1995), “obesity is known as a chronic, refractory condition which has a significant negative impact on physiological health, which has long been established” (p. 49). In the past few decades, research has been done to show that obesity also negatively impacts psychological health and social functioning (Kolotkin et al.,
1995). Kolotkin et al. (1995) built their experiment on the belief that, “monitoring factors suc...

My goal of this behavior change project was to implement more physical activity each day and keep a healthy diet after working out. During this process, I have learned a lot about how to stick to a strict schedule and how to overcome the challenges I have experienced already. My desire outcome was to have at least 5 out of the 7 days to be successful each week. There were some minor setbacks, but I was able to come back and succeed the following week. I have also learned that people learn from their failures. No one is perfect and it takes practice to get your desired outcome.

During the second session, I will conduct the passive straight-leg raise assessment and the Thomas test, along with the trunk flexor, trunk lateral, and trunk extensor endurance tests, in an effort to identify any abnormal muscle tightness or weakness that can be addressed with the exercise program. I will use the results from these assessments to establish Barbara’s baseline levels of flexibility and core strength for comparison with future assessments to determine program effectiveness. In their initial conversation, Barbara identifies her primary objective as weight loss and indicates that she is motivated by tracking her results, so I have decided to take body composition and circumference measurements so we can track her progress toward her goals. During the assessments, Barbara was able to complete all of the fitness tests without complications. Rather than compare her scores to “norms,” I decided to simply record her scores to use as baseline values when measuring progress during future assessments, and to help with program
Employees of The Fit Stop are responsible for assisting customers that may be extreme physical pain. There are some intrinsic rewards attached to being an employee at The Fit Stop, as employees are able to see the benefits their position is offering customers. Although this is a great reward, this isn’t necessarily enough to motivate employees to learn about all of the pieces of equipment or attempt to sell as many pieces of equipment as possible.
The phrase “design of experiments” refers to any orderly plan, or design, that describes four key features of an experiment, as summarized by Finney [1]:
Results-focused: The focus of the exercise is to adhere to a 2000kcal diet in 30 days.
This article is absolutely differs of all the articles that I have chosen above. This article describes how obesity affects human’s performance at job and what is the average of male and female obese people. Article also provides information about success and failures at work and how obesity effects both of them.

The intervention that will be performed, will be a 45 minutes’ walk on a treadmill four times per week, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 5pm to 5:45pm, at a speed of 2 miles per hour. There will be a group that does this individually and there will be a group that does it was a family. Both groups will be given the same menu of food that they are allow to consume daily and must follow, the will also need to keep a food diary.

...mselves at the same time. Thus, beauty and morality have become equated. For many women, weight is a quick and concrete barometer by which to measure oneself and one’s worth – how well one is doing as a woman. (Rodin et al., 1985, p.290) In this sense, a “good” girl must remain skinny and be in control of her desires, and this pressure is even worse by prejudice against fatness (Thompson et al., 1999). Though mass media should be responsible for this, individuals should also take part of their responsibility as it is not solely the problem created by the mass media. According to Focault (1977) contemporary women can control their body rationally and wisely in spite of the influence of the mass media. Women have their own choice in controlling their bodies, they slim down can be for the sake of health, not merely blindly follow the trend instilled by the mass media.

Exercise is known as the movement of muscles and bones in the body that increase heart rate and uses a specific amount of energy in a given period. There are many forms of exercise, some examples include, running, biking, a variety of sports and weight training. However, certain people may only choose to do one form of exercise, other may do multiple. Every individual’s perspective on exercise is different. Some may choose to not get enough exercise required for a healthy balance in day to day schedules. It is important to maintain a certain level of physical activity each week in order to live a well-rounded lifestyle. Exercise has been recognized to help prevent a series of health risks such as, chronic diseases, obesity, and depression.
