STATEMENT OF PURPOSE I have always believed that curiosity for knowing the facts and the reasons behind them has been the most important aspect for increasing knowledge sphere. I believe to have this curiosity and thirst for knowledge in me. I strongly conceive this throughout my undergraduate course in Mechanical Engineering and always have tried to scrutinize the horizons of Mechanical Engineering which exponentially increased my zeal to analyze the subject in deep. I have a strong penchant for learning and creativity and as I stand on the threshold of my professional career I am ambitiously looking forward to a Master’s study that can become one of the foundation pillars to convert my Imagination into reality and contribute to the field. I come from a family that gives high importance to Education and have always encouraged me to learn new things and pursue my dreams. I received my schooling from BHONSALA MILITARY SCHOOL where a balance was kept between theoretical studies and co-curricular and extracurricular activities. In high school I developed an extravagant interest in Physic and mathematics. My interest further more increased when I started learning application of mathematics to the physical world. I actively participated in Science exhibitions and Sports. My good grades in high school and SEEE exam got me into Under Graduate course in Mechanical Engineering into G.H. RAISONI COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING (An Autonomous Institute under UGC Act 1956) affiliated to RTM Nagpur University. During the course of my undergraduate studies, courses like Engineering Mechanics, strength of materials, fluid mechanics and thermodynamics laid in(on) me the strong fundamentals and problem solving techniques. Further courses like Theory of ma... ... middle of paper ... ...phere for my successful graduate work. Your Institution is a confluence of people from every culture and varied ideologies. Such an exposure of diverse influences would aid in the overall development of my personality, Potency and mettle. It would also help me to learn global standards in the field and become aware of the worldwide competition, which I consider would be of a great help for me to make a strong contribution to the field. A blend of all these would certainly facilitate a positive approach towards my Masters Degree. Eventually I want to make a laudable contribution to the present world by initiating and executing innovative ideas and research oriented approach towards them which would change the perception of the future engineering. A Graduate program in mechanical engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington will brace me to accomplish my goals.
A world-class engineering student, also known as an “expert learner,” is characterized by taking charge of their learning process, being active in their approach to learning, being motivated and disciplined as well as setting specific goals for themself. Becoming a world-class engineering student is a process that takes time and diligence. In order to become a world-class engineering student, I will have to identify where I stand currently in terms of goal setting, community building, academic development and personal development, where a world-class engineering student would be in each of those areas, and what I have to do in order to become a world-class engineering student.
There is a very famous maxim, “You can never be overdressed or overeducated.” I strongly believe in this quotation. My desire for knowledge was never ending. Machines fascinated me since my childhood. I always wondered what the mystery behind their functioning was. So I chose to study mechanical engineering. I learned many things about the machines, the more I learn about them through the research the more they enthralled me. I developed a strong interest towards manufacturing field when I started studying manufacturingtechnology in my 4th semester. I gradually fell in love with those processes. Though my college helped me to solve my enigma, my never ending crave for knowledgein manufacturing inclined me to study in your University which is the most promising academy for a student like me, where study and research go hand in hand. It is superfluous to mention, university of Hartford is the best place to learn manufacturing technology.
I was the Silver Medalist in RGPV university specific in Electronics and Instrumentation Branch and completed my under graduation Engineering with honors (80%). I was also the member of student council in college for two consecutive years and represented class as Class Representative. This helped me owing to my excellence in communication skills and managing events organized at college level.
I am drawn to the teaching style in Penn’s Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics program, which promotes interactive learning. I would be able to understand both the conceptual foundations of engineering, as well as the practical applications of these textbook teachings. Furthermore, by gaining exposure to real-world problems as an undergraduate, I would be better prepared and more confident to face new challenges in the
During my childhood a series of course in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry reintroduced me into these subjects, but now with an Engineering bent courses like Engineering Mechanics, Strength of Materials, Fluid Mechanics, Kinematics of Machinery, Dynamics of Machinery, Thermodynamics and Automobile Engineering laid in me the strong fundamentals and problem solving techniques. Further courses like Design of Machine Elements, Metallurgy and Material Science and CAD/CAM exposed me to new ideas of today’s Engineering problems. But computer relative subjects CAD/CAM and Advance IC Engines are my most favourite subjects and I have completed a course on AUTOCAD, CREO 2.0, NX CAD, Hyper Mesh, ANSYS 15.0 in CADD CENTER,
It is my extreme privilege that I have been given an opportunity to express about myself in my very own context. The very fortunate thing ever happened to me was that I had a very good early education which helped me a lot in the following time i.e., during and after my schooling. As I grew up also did my interests, at first Mathematics was the only topic which always dominated my interests but later on my interests made a shift on to the field of sciences mainly Physical Sciences with the introduction of many interesting topics in it. That was the time since which the inception of my interest in the field of sciences begun. Learning had become the key part of my life since then.
I have spent so much time learning about design through the paradigm of materials but now I want to connect mechanical aspects to the knowledge I have already gained. I am particularly interested in the research done by Dr. Drew Nelson, Dr. Sheri Sheppard and Dr. Friedrich Prinz whose work most closely fits my interests. I am interested in doing research in mechanical design as influenced by material usage. I am also looking forward to taking courses such as Imperfections in Crystalline Solids, The Magic of Materials and Manufacturing, and Nanomaterials Synthesis and Applications for Mechanical Engineers to explore topics I have already studied, but from a mechanical engineering perspective. Stanford’s combination of rigor and creativity appeal to me. I have always enjoyed a challenge and get great satisfaction from expanding my knowledge. Coming from a Materials Science and Engineering background where I have performed well, both in academics and leadership, I know I can be an asset to and learn from the world-class Mechanical Engineering program at
My first interest in Supply Chain Management resulted from my experience. Ever since I was young, I wanted to understand not just the ‘how’ of Mechanical engineering problems, but also why machines worked at the fundamental level. In particular, I was interested in learning the application of experimental techniques and principles governing Physics to solve problems. Therefore, I found the pursuit of B.E. in Mechanical Engineering almost a necessity, given my need to satiate my curiosity to gain deeper knowledge of that area.
I am aware of the hard work involved in acquiring the degree from an institution of international reputation and I am confident of succeeding in the course offered to me at the university.
