In order to have a successful first semester in college I must set a foundation of goals so I know what I want my end result to be. With the help of the SMART goals critia I will be able to set goals that are attainable. The criteria for SMART goals have five requirements, they must be specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and have a time limit. With the intention to incorporate these five steps my goals should be a great foundation for this first semester. I would like to earn a 3.4 GPA during this semester with a strong start to my college journey will insure me a good standing in a field of psychology. This is the key to success because with the help from a student who has gone through this class and who has study strategies and can help me get the best grade I can get. By attending office hours I will be able to get to know my professors and they might be able to give me some tips on how to succeed in there class. The steps that I will take to achieve these goals are to note when the sessions are available and how they correlate with my schedule. Once I have scheduled out when I will attend the session I will attend. While I am in attendance I will take notes and ask questions. When I sit down to study the material I will use what was review and taught during that session to review. My personal development goal has already started I was elected to be on the programming director board for the Cavalier Club in my resident hall. In this position I will be organizing events for the residents in my hall to allow us to get to know each other. The steps I took to gain this position were first speaking with my RA about possible club to join and I started off as a Senator for my floor but soon became a programming director.
