This supplement is a record of my actions in this investigation.

On September 17, 2015, I was assigned this case to follow up. This case involves Mr. Tavon Marquis Lanier a fourteen year old George Washington School student. I contacted the court services unit and spoke to Priscilla Harp. Ms. Harp reported a prior assault on a family member and a runaway case which resulted in no finding.

On September 18, 2015, I called Ms. Ashaunta Lanier and identified myself and the purpose of my call. Ms. Lanier informed me that she was about to call the police to report Tavon’s return. Ms. Lanier reported that her son had been in The District of Columbia where he was caught committing a robbery. Ms. Lanier reported that a search warrant had been executed and evidence which implicates her son had been recovered. Ms. Lanier authorized me to meet with Tavon at school.

I responded to George Washington School and met with Officer Carl Savoy in his Officer. Officer Savoy had Mr. Lanier to the School Resource Officer’s Office. Tavon Lanier arrived at which time I identified myself and the purpose of my visit (runaway case). Lanier reported that he was at a girl’s house and did not come home. He reported only being away a day and nothing more. He admitted to being with some friends in D.C., but did not continue into any details as to who they are. Mr. Lanier suffers from asthma, but has no medical issues. Mr. Lanier reported no exploitation or having been a victim of any type. Mr. Lanier is not afraid of being home and expressed his level of safety at 1. Mr. Lanier told me that he speaks to his mom who is both mother and father in their home. He denied any drug or alcohol use and denied any type of gang affiliation.
