The R.M.S. Titanic may just be the most infamous mail ship to ever set sail. R.M.S. is an abbreviated term that stands for “Royal Mail Ship”, thus making the Titanic one of the worst cases of lost mail there ever was. The five clerks handling these parcels of mail had the tasks of checking and storing mail that was not to be opened until the Titanic was docked. The sea clerks managing this mail, however, received a raw deal. As the ship began to sink, the clerks quickly realized what was to become of the mail. They frantically rushed the mail to the deck hoping a lifeboat would take it with them or a rescue ship would save the mail. Sadly, the clerks perished while trying to save the legacy of the royal mail ship. The parcels were stored in
a luxury mail room located beneath the ships waterline. The room contained close to seven million pieces of mail, the mail mostly contained money orders. It is estimated that $150,000 worth of money orders have resided on the sea floor. It was one of the first rooms to become filled with water, and the initial room to meet Titanic’s fate.
I am writing my first entry aboard this incredible vessel today, primarily because I have been spending the last three days exploring the sections open to my fellow third-class passengers and I. What I have seen is extraordinary, especially when first boarding the ship. The halls and staircases of the first class section were like nothing I had ever seen before in my life. They were blanketed in luxury from end to end. The first class passengers I had managed to see wore their best garments boarding the ship and were conversing with each other about their rich lives back home. We mourned the ship by the wharf and ordered the captain and the crew to open the hatch ways. We had assured the captain and his men that we had no intension of harming them. As the chests were brought up from the below decks, men opened them with axes while others brought them to the sides of the ship and dumped the contents over board. This same process was repeated on each ship. This had been the hardest work he had ever done. As they had continued dumping the tea crowds gathered on the wharf as they kept going on.”
In 1996, treasure hunter Brock Lovett and his team aboard the research vessel Keldysh search the wreck of RMS Titanic for a necklace with a rare diamond, the Heart of the Ocean. They recover a safe containing a drawing of a young woman wearing only the necklace. It is dated April 14, 1912, the day the ship struck the iceberg. Rose Dawson Calvert, claiming to be the person in the drawing, visits Lovett and tells of her experiences aboard the ship.
First, 5 days before setting sail, the Titanic’s insurance increased causing J. P. Morgan to receive $12 million, meaning that the Titanic was extremely important. Second, photos and surviving passengers have noticed that the Olympic “waterline was said to be far more serious as the super structure had warped” causing the ship to have visible scars. Lawrence Beesley and other passengers on the Titanic saw these same scars. Third, they were known as the Twin ships because of there almost identical appearance meaning that a regular passenger could not tell the difference if the vessels’ names were switching, the bells, menus and so forth. Fourth, J. Bruce Ismay (a higher class survivor) states that he remembered seeing a room called “The Olympic Room” on the ship that was his by an iceberg. Fifth, a photo indicates that the name Titanic engraved on the side of the hip looks different from when it was built in comparison to its last voyage. The first picture demonstrates the letters closer tighter while in the second picture the letters are father apart to cover up all seven letters in the word Olympic. Sixth, originally the Titanic was creates with fourteen portholes and a photo illustrates that when it departed from Southampton it had sixteen, which is the number that the Olympic was built with. Shockingly, about fifty passengers canceled their voyage at the last minute and one of them was a very important person by the name of J. P. Morgan. He said that he was “too ill to go on a journey, yet was found two days later by a reporter in good health at a French resort.” Surprisingly, the crewmen that survived were forced to sign the ‘Official Secrets Act’ that prohibited them to discuss the event of the sinking ship. My topic is concerning the sinking of the Lusitania. The Lusitania was a British merchant ship that had 200 Americans on board. The Germans sunk the cruiser with submarine warfare on May 7th, 1915, claiming that the ship was carrying munitions. Though the Lusitania was not a weapons-bearing ship, later investigations proved there were a few munitions on board. When the ship sank, a total of 150 of the 1,100 casualties were Americans; thus, this crisis later became war propaganda in America. The Soap ad in the 1958 film A Night to Remember is one of the first implications of social class that is illustrated throughout the entire film. It begins by first introducing the viewer to the middle class hero, Lightoller and his view of the class system of 1912 where he mocks the discrepancy of class aboard the Titanic amongst the elites and the lower class passengers (Bruce). And despite this, the advertisement seems to better illustrate the idea of decadence that is found on the ship. As already noted, the scene seems to mock the elite class as Lightoller states that the soap is “for the first-class passengers, mark you. The rest don’t wash” (A Night to Remember). It is here, that class is clearly evident through the reaction of the other couple that is present in the train cart. The uptight, upper class asks if Lightoller is a foreigner or a radical and defend their positions against the lower class. They belittle him, judged him and do not humor him until they to find out that he is second in command to the Titanic (A Night to Remember). It is clear that the couple is the epitome of the upper class. The way there are dressed, their mannerism and the way they look down on others displays their lifestyle and their general depiction that they have lived a wealthy and decadent life. And this is clearly translated unto the ad and the Titanic itself.

However, they had been locked away, and the key was in the possession of an officer who had been fired from the crew just before the Titanic sailed. A British passenger steamship, the SS Mesaba, radioed warnings about the locations of icebergs. However, the Titanic’s senior radio operator failed to pass the warnings on to the captain, interpreting the messages as non-urgent. The messages failed to include the notation “MSG”, which would have required the captain’s personal acknowledgment. The Titanic carried 20 lifeboats, only enough for slightly more than half the number of passengers and crew on board, and about one-third her total capacity. The British Board of Trade failed to require the ship to increase the number of lifeboats to meet her actual capacity.

Kate had found out that she would have to be naked as Leo had to draw her in one of the scenes, so when they first met she thought she would flash him to make it less awkward. In the end, when they had to film the scene, he ended up fumbling with the lines.
The Titanic, which was 882 feet in length was strong enough to carry just over 2,220 passengers, forty tons of potatoes, over 6,000 pounds of butter, two tons of coffee, 20,000 bottles of beer and stout, 15,000 bottles of mineral water and hundreds of stacks of mail. When people think of the sinking of the Titanic, they will most likely think of the great Hollywood blockbuster movie that was more a love story then a historical movie with documentation of what happened on that cold night of April 14, 1912. Historians like to tell people what happened from the facts that are given to them, and eye witness accounts of what had happened on the ship the night it plunged to its deep dark grave. Everyone knows that the ship sank and that it is gone, but what they don't know is what had happened while people were being loaded into the lifeboats and what was occurring after the ship went down. Men played a big role in all of this; some were looked upon as cowards and others as heroes.
Fear has taken a hold of every man aboard this ship, as it should; our luck is as far gone as the winds that led us off course. For nights and days gusts beyond measure have forced us south, yet our vessel beauty, Le Serpent, stays afloat. The souls aboard her, lay at the mercy of this ruthless sea. Chaotic weather has turned the crew from noble seamen searching for glory and riches, to whimpering children. To stay sane I keep the holy trinity close to my heart and the lady on my mind. The rocking forces our bodies to cling to any sturdy or available hinge, nook or rope, anything a man can grasp with a sea soaked hand. The impacts make every step a danger. We all have taken on a ghoulish complexion; the absence of sunlight led the weak souls aboard to fight sleep until sick. Some of us pray for the sun to rise but thunder constantly deafens our cries as it crackles above the mast. We have been out to sea for fifty-five days and we have been in this forsaken storm for the last seventeen.
On the morning, April 12, 1912, Marcus and his family were going to the Titanic. While they were going there Marcus was a little bit of a troublemaker but his mom Martha was telling him to behave, so when Marcus was walking to the Titanic his little sister Lucy was wanting to get something to play with. So while Lucy was whining Marcus was getting annoyed and decided to get her something to play with. When Marcus got Lucy a toy to play with, Marcus had to catch up to their mother so they could go to the Titanic. When they got there, they went to there room and it was a good thing because Marcus needed to go to the bathroom. So after that Marcus decided to steal something to eat for later since he was a troublemaker and all. When
