A rough draft is a preliminary or tentative revision. It ls where the writer gets his/her thoughts on paper. After the rough draft is created, it will be edited. Editing is the step where a writer refines the copy. Proofreaders’ marks are used to edit the rough draft. The editing changes will then be made to the original. After the changes have been made, read the copy again. More changed may still need to be made to the copy. Editing and proofreading do take time and effort. An error-free message is worth the trouble, however. Documents free of errors make a good impression. When a document has no errors, readers can focus on the content. Errors distract readers and can cause them to think less of the message. Therefore, it is important
The 1960s was a period well remembered for all the civil rights movements that occurred during that time frame and the impact these movements had on the social and political dynamics of the United States. The three largest movements that were striving in the 1960s were the African American civil rights movement, the New Left movement and the feminist movement. These three movements were in a lot of ways influenced by each other and were very similar in terms of their goals and strategies. However, within each of these movements there were divisions in the way they tried to approach the issues they were fighting against. Looking at each of these movements individually will reveal the relationship they all share as well as the changes that were brought forth as a result of each groups actions.
Writing is important because it enables a community to create symbols and signs understandable. The society must have a stable food supply in order to keep its people alive,
In “The Fish” by Elizabeth Bishop, the narrator attempts to understand the relationship between humans and nature and finds herself concluding that they are intertwined due to humans’ underlying need to take away from nature, whether through the act of poetic imagination or through the exploitation and contamination of nature. Bishop’s view of nature changes from one where it is an unknown, mysterious, and fearful presence that is antagonistic, to one that characterizes nature as being resilient when faced against harm and often victimized by people. Mary Oliver’s poem also titled “The Fish” offers a response to Bishop’s idea that people are harming nature, by providing another reason as to why people are harming nature, which is due to how people are unable to view nature as something that exists and goes beyond the purpose of serving human needs and offers a different interpretation of the relationship between man and nature. Oliver believes that nature serves as subsidence for humans, both physically and spiritually. Unlike Bishop who finds peace through understanding her role in nature’s plight and acceptance at the merging between the natural and human worlds, Oliver finds that through the literal act of consuming nature can she obtain a form of empowerment that allows her to become one with nature.
In book one of the metamorphoses, Ovid talks of artists, and how art can be used to create and transform. Metamorphoses means transformation or change, so in one word, Ovid’s title tells the reader what is to come. Ovid uses art in the Metamorphoses to prove a point. To show how strong the human spirit is, or to teach you to watch what you say, because you never know who is around. The story of Arachne displays a great example of watching what you say. Minerva hears Arachne saying that she is the greatest weaver, and Minerva sets out to prove her wrong. With Daedalus and Icarus, Daedalus uses his art to try and find an escape for him and his son. Showing just how strong he is and how much he cares for his son. For Pygmalion, his art shows the power of his love and how much he wants to find the proper woman for himself.
Africans and African descended people tried to cope or more so resist their daily problems of being enslaved. Slavery resistance originated in British North America almost as soon as the first slaves arrived in the Chesapeake in the early 17th century. The most shared of all the acts of resistance was an effort to claim some amount of freedom against an establishment that defined people basically as property. Maybe the most common forms of resistance were those that take place in the work location. Slavery was ultimately about forced labor, and the enslaved struggled daily to express the standings of their work. Over the many years, ordinary rights developed in most fields of production. These tolls dictated work customs, distribution of rations, general rules of conduct, and etc. If the slave masters increased the workloads, provided insufficient rations, or punished the slaves too severely, slaves showed their unhappiness by slowing work, pretending to be sick, breaking tools, or damaging production.
According to Donald M. Murray in The Makers Eye: Revising Your Own Manuscripts “A piece of writing is never finished”. Before this class, I didn’t really revise my essays
Antisocial personality disorder is a personality disorder marked by a general pattern of disregard for a violation of other people’s rights. Explanations of antisocial personality disorder come from the psychodynamic, behavioral, cognitive, and biological models. As with many other personality disorders, psychodynamic theorists propose that this disorder starts with an absence of parental love during infancy leading to a lack of basic trust. In this view, the children that develop this disorder respond to early inadequacies by becoming emotionally distant, and they bond with others through use of power and destructiveness. Behavioral theorists have suggested that antisocial symptoms may be learned through modeling, or imitation. As evidence, they point to the higher rate of antisocial personality disorder found among the parents of people with this disorder. Other behaviorists suggest that some parent’s unintentionally teach antisocial behavior by regularly awarding a child’s aggressive behavior. The cognitive view says that people with this disorder hold attitudes that trivialize the importance of other people’s needs. Cognitive theorists also believe that these people have a genuine difficulty recognizing a point of view other than their own. Finally studies show that biological factors may play an important role in developing antisocial disorder. Researchers have found that antisocial people, particularly those with high impulse and aggression, display lower serotonin activity and has been linked this same activity with other studies as well.

Many people think that there is only one type of editor, the type who reads and edits manuscripts. However, there are many different subcategories within the title of “editor”. A copy editor is the type of editor that most people are familiar with. Copy editors arrange layouts of articles, photographs, or advertisements to make sure everything looks presentable for its audience.
This concept is important because it reminds me that in writing
The editor is responsible to ensure that the document is • accurate enough to satisfy the reader, • clear enough for starter reader to follow and • interesting enough to the attention of all
Book editors have a great influence on today’s society and media. Their job isn’t just to make books ready for publishing, but also to provide a great final product for the people. When a story is sent to an editor, the draft is read, edited, and sent back to the writer. Once the writer has made the necessary corrections, the story can be prepared for publication. Editors play a critical role in the content we read.
---To provide modification to be made in some of the items to prepare the final draft properly (easy to difficult items).
