Roswell July 8th 1947
On July 8th 1947 an unidentified flying object crashed at a ranch in Roswell, New Mexico. The owner of the ranch was Mr. W.W. Brazel, who did not see thecrash happen but found the wreckage. The only witnesses were Mr. and Mrs. Wilmot. Initially Mr. Wilmot decided not to let anyone know what he saw thinking that a sight like that was seen by someone else. He eventually told the officials at the RAAF (Roswell Army Air Field) of what he had seen. Eventually when word spread of the incident, conspiracies where formed about the wreckage. The most famous being that the ship was an alien UFO, and that it had been taken to Area 51, (another government operation surrounded

The paper that published all three stories was the Roswell Daily Record. The balloon landed on W.W Brazels’ ranch, on the date the day of July 9, 1947. He did not witness the crash himself but later found the wreckage on his ranch. At first glance he just covered it up with brush he found around the wreckage, then later called the sheriff and reported it to him. The sheriff then contacted the Roswell Army Air field and they came to retrieve the wreckage. That was the last of the wreckage that Brazel heard of until the story broke out in the …show more content…
and Mrs. Dan Wilmot. They were sitting on their porch on Wednesday night when there was a glowing object raced across the sky. Mr. Wilmot estimated that it was in the sky for less then a minute, and that it made no sound. He said that he guessed it to be about 20 feet in diameter and flying about 400-500 miles per hour. The other two articles talk about the rancher who found the wreckage, and what the object was. According to Brig. Gen. Roger M. Ramey, commander of the Eighth air forces cleared everything up when he announced that it was just a weather balloon used for measuring wind velocity at high altitudes. He also explained that the need for these balloons is because the human eye cannot see this high up and the balloons provided very useful information. Gen. Ramey also stated that they have used these same balloons for ballistics information during the Okinawa

In the 1937 newspaper, article “Amelia’s Voice Heard by Amateur Radio Operator”, The Atchison Daily Globe reports on two Los Angeles amateur radio operators who claimed they heard Earhart transmit a distress signal at 7:00 a.m. Pacific time. The article expresses doubt about these clams using the statement “[In] San Francisco, however, a coastguard station reported at noon Eastern Standard Time it had received no word whatever although radio reception was unusually good” . The article also presents evidence supporting the two Radio operators, by explaining the amateur radio operators, “interpreted radio signals as placing the plane adrift near the equator between Gilbert Islands and Howland Island” . The article also, reports, because of this possible transmission from Earhart caused action, “the navy department ordered the battleship Colorado with three planes aboard, to begin a search from Honolulu, where it arrived yesterday ”.
What really happened over the summer in 1947 in Roswell, New Mexico? People have debated this topic countless times. Despite all of the deviations of what happened, there is a general timeline. Sometime during the months of June and July 1947, an aircraft landed in Mac Brazel’s ranch; Brazel proceeded to tell Sheriff George Wilcox. He sent a member of the Roswell Army Air Field base to look at the wreckage on Brazel’s ranch. This person took some of the debris back to the base for further inspection. On July 8, 1947, the newspapers published stories about how someone found a flying saucer in New Mexico. However, the government told the newspapers to report that it was merely a weather balloon that had crashed. After that, everybody simply accepted the story and dropped the topic. Throughout that story, many pieces of evidence went untold to the media. There were numerous pictures that went unreleased. Many affidavits went unnoticed and nobody paid attention to inconsistencies in the government’s justifications. Because of explicative photographs, several eyewitness accounts, and contradictory government explanations, there is extensive proof that the government concealed an alien landing in Roswell, New Mexico.
The mass hysteria of UFOs and the Salem Witch Trials share many similarities between each other. Some that were stated were the fact that people claim that they have witnessed UFOs or witnessed a Witch. These claims also lead to the similarities of how people were split in both topics, never agreeing to one side of the hysteria. A difference was also expressed in this paper saying that in the Trials people died compared to UFO sightings where no one died related to them. Overall they share many similarities and differences and there are many more that can be

Around June 25th, 1947 a pilot, Ken Arnold had reported strange objects in the sky while flying near Mt. Rainer, Washington. He stated that they flew like "saucers being skipped over water." This was where the term "Flying Saucers" derived from. The Roswell UFO Incident all started on the evening of July 3, 1947, Dan Wilmot and his wife were sitting on their front porch when they saw the distinct shape of a saucer flying through the sky. A few days prior to this sighting, military radar in the area was tracking an Unidentified Flying Object for four days. On Independence Day the radar indicated that the object had gone down about 30-40 miles Northwest of Roswell. A few days after the actual sighting from the Wilmot's, W.W. Brazel, the Foreman of the J.B. Foster Ranch went to check on his sheep after some intense thunderstorms the night prior. He happened to discover a very large amount of debris of an unknown metallic substance scattered throughout the field. It was also stated that he stumbled across a shallow trench in the ground that stretched hundreds of feet. Brazel would gather some of this debris to show family and friends. A few days after he would contact sheriff Wilcox of Chaves County. Once Wilcox had the information he needed, he contacted the Roswell Army Air Force Base, where Major Jessie Marcel was briefed to look int...
This paper will briefly discuss or attempt to discuss the evolution of Aerial Reconnaissance. I will talk about what reconnaissance is exactly and why it is important to every aspect of conflicts; before, during and after. Early methods of reconnaissance will be discussed and then lead to how aerial reconnaissance came about. I will talk about what platforms were used for aerial reconnaissance and what their missions were in the beginning. World War I forces aircraft technology to start advancing out of necessity, reconnaissance starts moving further and further out front as capabilities improve. During World War II cameras are being used on aircraft as that technology improves. During World War II we see aerial reconnaissance mainly

The story begins on Tuesday July 1, 1947, when one Steven Mackenzie, who was stationed in Roswell at the time, was ordered to track an unknown flying object. By Wednesday the object was over Roswell. On Thursday afternoon officials from Roswell were flown in to observe the activity. Then on Friday the object completely disappeared from radar and was thought to have crashed. On Saturday July 5th a rancher, by the name of William “Mac” Brazel, discovered the wreckage on his ranch a few miles outside Roswell. Brazel reported the debris to the local sheriff, Gorge A. Wilcox, who then in
Many people who do not believe that anything other than military weapons testing is going on inside Area 51 think that all of the UFO sightings are really just military aircraft. They have proven that often the light patterns people report being on the bottom side of the UFO matches the light patterns of certain military aircraft. Jeffrey Richelson, who works at the National Security Archives, studied declassified documents that were released in August 2013 and came to the conclusion that during the 1950’s and 1960’s the military was heavily testing the U-2 spyplane, wh...
Conspiracy theories have been the absolute greatest way to break away from the intense realities of the truth. Conspiracy is defined as an agreement to perform together an illegal, wrongful, or subversive act. Conspiracy theories can be created around almost any event, tragedy or situation. These theories are not just a recent phenomenon either, they have been around all throughout humanity but with technology currently it has been a lot easier to spread around these theories. There are many people out there who feel discomfort from certain theories but for other people, these brilliant theories are fascinating. For myself, Area 51 conspiracy theories are extremely intriguing and stimulating. Area 51 is a highly classified Air force Base that has been the focal point of alien conspiracy theories in American for decades.
There are many wild conspiracy theories that are contrived every day. These assumptions can be created by anyone. To some, they are an interesting topic of discussion, while to others, they serve as cold hard evidence to some unsolved mysteries in events that
