How would you feel if you were a new student and knew no one in your new school or anything about the school? The idea of this program is to help kids learn about the school and the people here. This program would help the new people learn the routine and the way things are done around the school. I believe we should have this ambassador program to help the new students that come to our school get used to it and make them feel as they belong.
Lots of people have had felt the stress of going to a new school and this program is a way to fix that issue. First of all most students don’t know anything about our school so giving them help they need will make them feel less stressed so they feel good going to this school. It could help them get to know most of the teachers and staff which will lower their rate of confusion. Dennis Banks , an American Indian of the Ojibwa Tribe, was born in 1937 on the Leach Lake reservation in Minnesota and was raised by his grandparents. Dennis Banks grew up learning the traditional ways of the Ojibwa lifestyle. As a young child he was taken away from practicing his traditional ways and was put into a government boarding school that was designed for Indian children to learn the white culture. After years of attending the boarding school, Banks enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, shipping out to Japan when he was only seventeen years old.

“When schools, parents, families, and communities work together to support learning, students tend to earn higher grades, attend school more regularly, stay in school longer, and enroll in higher level programs.” (Van Roeckel, 2008, p. 1) Deer Valley High School in Glendale, AZ is the first high school built in the Deer Valley Unified Scholl District, and with a population around 1800 students, the high school is one of the bigger schools in the state. It has a tradition of family on its’ campus, where there are still teachers teaching that were there when the school opened in 1980. A number of former students have become new teachers on campus and just about all the teachers’ children have attended and graduated from the campus. With a school like ours, there are many connections to the community around it and it is demonstrated by the programs that bring in parent and community to help with the development of our students. There are numerous booster clubs run on our campus to help support student achievement on the sports fields, a school to work programs to teach the students necessary skills in different areas of either nursing, sports medicine classes, and in the culinary arts classrooms, and funding to our school to help ensure all students graduate on time. There are many programs on our campus, but I will discuss four of the programs: baseball booster club, C2G program, “school-to-work”, and the special education program sponsored by Arrowhead Hospital. These programs are designed to improve the relationships between the campus and the people in the community, and give all students on campus every opportunity to succeed in their future.
Atlantic journalist Nicholas Carr confesses that he feels something has been “tinkering with his brain.” The internet, he fears, may be messing with our minds. We have lost the ability to focus on a simple task, and memory retention is steadily declining. He is worried about the effect the internet has on the human brain, and where it may take us in the future. In response to this article, Jamais Cascio, also a journalist for the Atlantic, provides his stance on the issue. He argues that this different way of thinking is an adaptation derived from our environment. Ultimately, he thinks that this staccato way of thinking is simply a natural evolution, one that will help to advance the human race.
I believe that it’s a good decision to study and have knowledge about this Multi-Tier Support system. Any instructor who is really committed to the students should get a better understanding of it, to find out if his students are at risk or not of academic failure or falling behind. This system help him to rethink if he needs to modify the instruction activities in a way that facilitates the absorption of the core curriculum for students that are not succeeding. Appropriate and immediate feedback should be provided if the teacher is able to assess the areas that a child is having difficulties and respond with an specific strategy that leads him to progress. As an outcome of early intervention, ongoing support and efficient teaching all learners will benefit from MTSS.
If I am selected as an Ambassador, I hope this role will afford me the opportunity to create connections between the Clemson and the ACPA community; both on a regional and national level. Moreover, I hope this experience will provide me networking opportunities with other students with career aspirations in the student affairs arena. I also envision this role providing me a platform to foster better communication between the students in my PhD program and the students in Clemson’s student affairs master’s program.
Students learn if they can work in large groups or if they work better individually. They also learn what kind of learner they are when it comes to taking in information given to them by the teacher. Not every student is the same, and they learn that is it okay to be different and to be proud of the person they are. Students learn how to deal with conflicts and resolve the matter in a calm fashion.

I chose Henry Alexander Murray for my lesser known therapist. He was born in New York City in 1983 and he had two siblings (Kazdin, 2000). Murray attended and graduated from Harvard College and he married and had one child. When I first decided to write about Murray, I didn’t know very much about him. One fact that surprised me is that Murray was actually uninterested in psychology in college. For instance, Kazdin (2000) asserts that “the only formal course he ever took in psychology was with Hugo Munsterberg, but he walked out after the first class when he found out the material had no relevance to personal experience” (p. 358). He was more interested in the medical field. Murray did not become interested in psychology until a few years after he graduated from Harvard.
The importance of the program and the affect on children is that it gets each child motivated and they are ready to get started. The children are excited to go out and do things since they learned the building blocks and are able to build and learn more and more each day. The children are able to learn about how to eat right and make good decisions all by learning it and having a fun time.
We believe that every student in our school is capable of learning and thinking at high levels. We will meet the academic and social/emotional needs of all of our students including students with disabilities, English language learners, high achievers, and struggling learners. Communication and education is going to be key to the success of this endeavor. This is a change, if we are not clear about the new process to the students and schools, we run the risk of creating confusion. We do not want to create frustration.
I am grateful for the opportunity to have volunteered at the elementary school. It opened my eyes to a few of the problems in our communities. I was able to make others aware of those problems through volunteering and being proactive. I am going to continue with the program for as long as I am able to do so. If only we had millions of these programs across the globe, many other children would be able to benefit and develop the skills to succeed educationally.
Have you ever felt uncomfortable, scared, nervous, and confused? Well new students feel this way whenever they move to a new school. They have no idea if they'll make friends or if anyone would like them. But with the ambassador program new students will right away feel comfortable in their new surroundings, able to learn a new language and know their way around our school faster than someone who's been there for three years. If we had this program, they just might make a friend right away.
Now the ambassador program is one that can help students and even teachers when it comes for a time of change. The program helps new students/teachers to become more comfortable with their new school environment. All people are nervous when it comes to a new environment, whether it be working our learning. Most people are not able to learn when they wonder if they’re in the right place. Which is why this program will ease nerves. With the right help, students/teacher will be able to get used to their surroundings quicker. thus letting their brain focus on the task at hand.
