To be original you must do something that no one has ever done or even attempted to start. In Jon Krakauer’s book “ Into The Wild”, Chris McCandless is a young man who was persistent to go on a journey to Alaska to find his true happiness. Before McCandless headed off on his journey he donated all his savings, burned his remaining cash, abandoned his car and left everything behind in a true act of rebellion. Rosa Parks was an American civil rights activist who helped pave the way for modern day society. Parks was like McCandless in the way that she was persistent for her cause of rebelling, she didn’t give up, and she wanted to reach for the greatest outcome no matter the consequences. Rosa Parks was born to Leona and James Mccauley on February 4, 1913 in Tuskegee, Alabama. “On December 1, 1955 Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on a bus in Montgomery, Alabama, and from there sparked a national Civil Rights Movement for racial equality”(Biography 2017).What she did will be forever remembered. In her society people admired Parks for her strength and courage to stand up for what is right. The people admired Parks for her courage and bravery, to stand up to the unjust conditions, and for standing up to face authority. She was also referred to by many supporters as, “ the first lady of civil rights”, and “ the mother of the freedom movement”. Many people in her society were thankful for the changes she made. Parks was lucky enough to live to see the outcome of her Civil Rights movement.
