Rosa Lee Cunningham is a 52 year old black female. She is short with a long and handsome face. She is a long time heroin addict with a very long arrest record, from petty crime such as theft, to drug trafficking. She has eight children and six out of the eight, has followed into her footsteps of teenage parenthood, drugs, and crime. They are also addicted to drugs. Rosa Lee is unemployed and lives off of welfare assistance. She recently enrolled in a drug treatment program, but does not have any intentions of ending her heroin abuse, and she currently has been diagnosed with HIV. She supported her family by waitressing in nightclubs, selling drugs, shoplifting, and working as a prostitute. Regarding Rosa Lee’s romantic and sexual relationships, she started having sex at an early age. Because of the lack of emotional support from her mother and the loss of her father, “the first boy I saw that showed me any kind of feeling, I just took my drawers off…I just took them off.” She recalls thinking that having sex would bond their relationship, but it did the exact opposite. He left her. Rosa Lee’s children were fathered by six different men, which do not help financially. Rosa Lee also reports being married to her third child’s father. She left him when he beat her after he found out she was having an affair with someone else. She reports having a relationship with a woman. During the relationship, her partner use to get high off of a drug called Predulin aka “bam” an amphetamine-like stimulant, which sparked Rosa Lee’s first time using drugs. Rosa Lee was first introduced to heroin in October 1975 by her oldest daughter and her daughter’s boyfriend. She recalls in on 47th birthday she almost died from a “hit” in the neck. Rosa Lee has a history of prostitution, she reports prostituting herself when working at a nightclub as a “stripteaser.” She reports prostituting to provide money for food to support her eight children. Anna has no children and one dog. A phone call came in at 9:45 AM on the hot morning of August 14th. Anna’s neighbor, Doug Greene let the police know he saw her walking her dog around 6:30AM yesterday morning, but heard her dog barking for the last two hours. Rosa Lee Cunningham is a 56 year old African American female. She is referred to the facility from Howard University Hospital. She was treated for a condition called osteomyelitis, which resulted from a bacterial infection while using heroin (Dash, 2006). Rosa Lee states that on October 7, 1983, she injected cocaine, which resulted in her being hospitalized at D.C. General Hospital (Dash, 2006). Prior to her hospital visit in 1983, she injected heroin, cocaine, and various substances. After a horrible breakup with her girlfriend, she used heroin for the first time (Dash, 2006). She stated that she uses speed ball of cocaine, heroin mixed injection as well as Prelundin, occasionally (Dash, 2006).

DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS Introduction: Throughout this discussion, I will debate and analyse the ideas I have collected from my research. My discussion is separated under sub headings which will allow me to form a better understanding of how capital punishment is viewed, which will help me in reaching a possible answer to my question. Firstly, I am going to be discussing two very well known case studies. Dott “Dorothy” Case was an extremely influential woman in the health care field. She became a doctor, instructor, associate professor, surgeon, and cheifship of surgery. She created her own private practice, became director of public health for the Philadelphia Federation of Women’s Clubs and allied organizations, and created the Dorothy Case-Blechschmidt Cancer Health Clinic of Doctor’s Hospital. The intervention was the first time that I noticed an emotional reaction out of Rose, at the same time a coping mechanism of protecting herself from pain and disappointment was exhibited. When Deborah was only sixteen she became pregnant with her first child by Cheetah and boy she liked when she was younger. Cheetah and Deborah got married and then had their second child. Deborah became very unhappy in the marriage because Cheetah started drinking and doing drugs. He started abusing Deborah. Joe went to the military, and the family was hoping that would do him good; but he came out worse than when he went in. Joe was threatened and beaten up by a boy named Ivy. Joe was in so much rage he went and stabbed him and killed him. Joe eventually turned himself in to the law, was convicted of second degree murder and sentenced fifteen years in prison.
Susan Leigh Vaughan Smith was born September 26, 1971 in Union, South Carolina to Linda and Harry Vaughan. She was born the third child in the Vaughan family, with two older brothers. Linda Vaughan divorced Harry when Susan turned 7, and five weeks later Harry committed suicide at 37 (Montaldo). Within weeks of Linda and Harry’s divorce, Linda got remarried to Beverly (Bev) Russell, a local successful businessman.
