Romeo and Juliet Meet for the First Time This part of the play is very important because this is where Romeo and Juliet meet for the first time. The scene starts off with the servants preparing for the party that Lord Capulet is having. The words of the servants show that they are very busy. 'You are looked for and called for, asked for and sought for, in the great chamber.' That they are also quite excited and that are doing a lot of rustling and bustling about. 'Away with the joint-stools, remove the court-cupboard, look to the plate. Good thou, save me a piece of marchpane; and, as thou lovest me, let the porter let in Susan Grindstone and Nell. Antony, and Potpan!' The servants than open the scene (by opening the curtains) to the party, this could be very effective to the audience. The part would seem quite spectacular to the audience to look at on stage because of all the beautiful and unique clothing, dancing and music. Lord Capulet is in a very good mood as he greets his guests. He plays 'mind host'. Through his words you can tell that he is very happy and joyful you see this by the way he amusingly teases his guest. Lord Capulet says to the woman, 'Welcome, gentlemen! ladies that have their toes Unplagued with corns will have a bout with you. Ah ha, my mistresses! which of you all Will now deny to dance? she that makes dainty, She, I'll swear, hath corns; am I come near ye now?' Here he is basically telling the ladies whom that does not dance that they must have corns. Lord Capulet is joking but he uses this, as a method to make the ladies dance so that he's party seems livelier. He then welcomes the gentlemen by using some rhyme, 'Welcome, gentlemen! I have seen the day That I have worn a visor and could tell A whispering tale in a fair lady's ear,

Romeo as a Typical Courtly Lover in Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet In Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, Romeo is portrayed as a typical courtly lover. In my essay I will be examining the first act of the play and exploring Romeo as a courtly lover and his transition from loving Rosaline to loving Juliet. In traditional medieval literature there were often fictional characters who were known as courtly lovers. At the start of the play Shakespeare has portrayed Romeo as a traditional courtly lover because he follows the rules of courtly love.
Romeo & Juliet Romeo and Juliet was a tragedy, but it did not have to be. Many things could have been done to prevent their deaths. Many characters contributed to their deaths. The sole character that was responsible for their deaths is Friar Lawrence. Friar Lawrence is responsible for the deaths of the lovers because he was secretive with their relationship, he was unable communicate effectively, and he had a cowardly persona.
In Romeo and Juliet, the tragic love story, emotion is also surrounded with both the protagonists and brought themselves a tragic ending. Early in the story, Romeo and Juliet made an unacceptable forbidden decision which created a path towards their graves. After knowing themselves as the enemy of their household, the two teenagers yet fall in love with each other. Their idiotic actions of love have brought themselves a road to death at the end. Is unworthy to cost your life by your foolish decision. Furthermore, Romeo made another decision out of momentary anger and caused himself a disastrous problem. After Mercutio's death, out of anger Romeo duel with Tybalt and demands to slay him. After his revenge, he brought a death sentence on himself if he is ever found within the city again.
The Phenomenon of Love at First Sight in Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare One of the first things that make a reader believe in love at first sight is the way Shakespeare created two characters who should of hated each other in the form of Romeo and Juliet but who instantly fell in love the moment they first saw each other. This shows the reader that even though they were from feuding families and were each other enemies love at first sight was in itself was real enough force to make two people fall in love The first message in the play is where straight away Shakespeare makes his first reference to love "†A pair of star crossed lovers take their life†Doth with their death bury their parents' strife." though this does not refer to love at first sight directly, it does help the reader believe in love at first sight as it is showing what a powerful emotion love is. This is because at the beginning of the play The reader discovers the Montague's and the Capulet's (Romeo and Juliet's family hate each other so much that they have even killed her.

Good morning/afternoon Ms Pritchard and 10B English, today I will be exploring two of the same scenes from different film versions of Romeo and Juliet. Each film was directed by different but equally professional directors to allow the audience to understand the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet. The scene I am going to analyse is the party scene when Romeo and Juliet meet for the first time. The first film being discussed was directed by Baz Luhrman in 1996; an Australian director who loves to spice up his films to keep the audience on their feet. The second film was directed by Carlo Carlei in 2013; an Italian master mind of directing who prefers to stay true to his films and become one with the audience and the story being told. Both directors
The First Meeting of Romeo and Juliet The meeting of Romeo and Juliet is possibly the most decisive point of the play. Shakespeare undoubtedly used stagecraft and language devices. to create the desired atmosphere, the idea of love at first sight. The meeting of Romeo and Juliet is cleverly written to represent a sonnet.
“The course of true love never did run smooth” –William Shakespeare. Shakespeare truly proved this quote in his illustrious play called Romeo and Juliet. These two star-crossed lovers definitely did not have a smooth course to true love, as they experienced many hardships along the way that ultimately resulted in their downfall. Romeo and Juliet’s forbidden love unleashed a strain on their reputations, friendships, and their relationship with their families.
We can sense this menace in the way he presents the butler as a rather unfriendly or gruff person who is reluctant to talk or interact with his customer since he offers “No pleasantries,
