REMINISCENCE Reminiscence when I met Kiyoteru in the city where I have been born. He was the man who had charmed my attention quietly. I thought that was love at the first sight. “He is an eye candy; I wonder what he is being doing here?” I murmured. “Miku-Chan, did you know that a new noble family has transferred to our town? Let us greet them,” Lily, a close friend of mine who was raised together since my childhood, asked. “Did you mean that guy?” I pointed my index finger towards the brown hair man. “Yeah, you got an eagle eye, do you? Ha-ha.” She slightly stuck out her tongue. While running away from hitting by me. In the mean time, I walked into my room. Purposely, I went to my wardrobe and searching for a swell outfit to meet the newcomers. The reason I had to do this because of my father was a mayor of that town. I might have to show my courtesy for the sake of my family notoriety. I took a beryl green gown with a few delicate ribbons at the waist. It suited perfectly with my pale complexion. Yes, I was hoping that guy will see me. “My pretty darling lets us greet the new noble family at the midst of the city” my father tempted me to go with him for his society affair. I always adored my father. To me, father was the source of my inspirations. His responsibility towards his duties as a mayor, he never neglected it. Even for a trivial case. “I am always being ready, father”, I smiled at father with an intentional smiling. -------------------- MEETING A few moments later, we arrived in the noble’s mansion. I looked around searching for the guy who I saw this morning. “Great to meet you Lord Shion, it is an honor to know you” father showed his well-pleased with the arrival of the new residents. “Let me introduce myself, I am S... ... middle of paper ... ...was crowned as the crown prince at the ceremony that has been held in front of the citizen in this country at the Great Assembly. It was the first time we saw him. It was the beginning the most possible unrequited Rin’s love story. However, the wide barrier has been narrowed, the possibility is increasing. I guess? Or maybe not? “You can go but with a one condition, both of you need to return home before the midnight” Mother looks worry and I know why she feels anxiety. Recently there has been raw news that there is a suspicious person who wears a black robe and walking over the roofs. I guess him probably a ninja or most accurately a thief. A professional thief who is seeking the valuable items all over this country. “We understand mother, but we need to find a swell outfits and I don’t think we got more time left” Rin smiles politely. Then, Rin grabs my right hand
Folktales can be used to share morals or a lesson using symbols, and this is true of the classic “Cinderella” story. Madonna Kolbenschlag, a feminist, writes “A Feminist’s View of ‘Cinderella,’” explaining the Cinderella story in a more sexist view. Bruno Bettel-heim, a distinguished psychologist, centers his article, “‘Cinderella’: A Story of Sibling Rivalry and Oedipal Conflicts” very specifically on the sibling rivalry exhibited in the classic “Cinderella” story. He also writes about the oedipal period of a child’s life. Both authors agree that “Cinderella” is most likely the best-known and best-liked fairy tale. Although, according to Stith Thompson, folktales have been passed form country to country and through different time periods,
In nearly every Cinderella story, Cinderella is never treated with the general respect she deserves as a human being. In the movie Ever After, a Cinderella spinoff, Danielle’s life is miserable as she lives in the same house as her stepmother and stepsisters. Because she is the different one in the family, she is treated as a servant and is forced to do chores around the house. On top of this, Danielle’s heartless stepmother and stepsisters are in constant competition with her, and will do anything just to feel better than her. Thus, Danielle is persistently being oppressed and put down by them, which is in no way satisfying her need for a caring family and motherly advice. Danielle’s expectations for a loving mother and family are often not
Children’s stories are often simple, with loveable characters and a feel-good ending. However, these simple plots sometimes have an underlying meaning that may be the basis for adult stories with social, intellectual, or emotional themes. For example, The Wizard of Oz, by L. Frank Baum, is not only about a girl who is looking for the way home who meets some charming friends along the way. It was written as Populist propaganda for the entire Populist movement of the early 1900’s! The children’s tale of Cinderella can be interpreted in much the same way. It portrays a young orphaned girl named Cinderella who is enslaved by her stepmother. She works diligently throughout her life, searching for love, comfort, and a home. The myth in Cinderella is very strong. The presence of a Fairy Godmother creates a supernatural element in the story. Through the mythical godmother, Cinderella eventually obtains happiness by marrying Prince Charming. In “The Lady’s Maid,” by Katherine Mansfield, the narrator and maid is named Ellen. (Name similarity?) She, much like Cinderella, is loyal and quiet in performing her daily duties. Ellen is also searching for something to complete her life. But several incidents in Ellen’s life contribute to her un-Cinderella-like ending, including the fact that she does not have a mythical figure to help her out. These scenes, which are shown through Ellen’s responses to interactions with characters around her, prove Ellen to be a very complex character. Both Ellen and Cinderella experience sadness from childhood experiences and devotion to the ladies that they serve, but whereas Cinderella overcomes her problems in the end and finds happiness, Ellen carries her emotions so deeply that she cannot break free from her enslaved life.
“Well he’s a most wanted criminal, he says he’s got some information on some foreign attack” he explained.
"Yes, impressive. Tell me, who is the Prima Donna?" Tromper interjected, irritating me slightly, he seems to be like a rude man.
He pointed out to me the little house inhabited by him and his fellow Belgians, and I promised to go and see him at an early date. Then he raised his hat with a flourish to Cynthia, and we drove away.
The door behind him suddenly opened, and his father walked in, thanking the servants for doing a great job taking care of his son. He walked up behind Oikawa, and stared across his shoulder at the pair of reflections in the mirror. The servants flittered around for a bit, before taking the cue to leave the room.
As children most of our life lessons were acquired through the simplicity of fairy tales. Subliminal messages taught us to always believe in true love and that good wins out over evil. Young and naïve, as children, all we desired was a good story and a nap, but the lessons we learned lasted a lifetime. Growing up my beloved fairy tale was Cinderella, not only does true love win but good wins over evil and eventually the world is set right.
...dn’t come? I would be stuck with this suitcase. I don’t even know what is in it, and to be honest, I don’t really want to know. I decided to go walk around, and see if anybody might recognize this stupid suitcase. The more I walked around the more frustrated I got. I was almost ready to leave when a man walked up to me, pointed to the suitcase, and said, “That’s mine.” He was tall and was wearing a suit and a bowler hat. He looked a bit like George Clooney, much more professional looking than the last guy.
“ Oh sir if this isn’t too bad I also saw a man wearing a similar colored scarf, but was just hanging out like nothing had happened, so if you would look into it it would make me feel much more secure.” I said
"Who, him? That ugly kid? Hell, I dunno," Grandpa would respond, rubbing his chin and looking at me.
"No clothes. No party." I say very slowly as to say she is slow but Redd is anything but. She shakes her head and gets up to take a look in the closet, slipping the cellphone in her back pocket.
"Well, I had to get home before my cousin and aunt. They aren't. . . the most loving family, but they're the only ones I have left."
“You returned,” Amir stated happily. “And a new friend too,” Amir smiled as he bowed gently to Matthew.
At first, one of the best memories is when I saw my love for the first time. I saw her at the American embassy in my country Bangladesh. She went to the embassy to pick up her visa and at the same time I also went there to pick up my visa. After I saw her, I had feeling for her so that I want to be with her. Love at first sig...
