Romeo and Juliet is a story written by William Shakespeare. Shakespeare describes
Romeo and Juliet relationship as being star crossed. I agree with this because Romeo and Juliet
being star crossed has led to them killing themselves and other people in the process. Here are
some examples of how being star crossed caused their fates.
When Romeo and Juliet married each other, Juliet was very young. When they got
married they had only known each other for less than 24 hours. On page 89 Juliet states, “ If your
intentions as a lover are truly honorable and you want to marry me, send me word tomorrow. I’ll
send a messenger to you, and you can pass on a message telling me where and when we’ll be
married.” This supports my claim be showing that Romeo and Juliet Just met

each other and they are already trying to get married. When Romeo fell in love with Juliet, he was just getting over another girl named Rosaline.
On page 99 and 103 Romeo states, “With Rosaline father? No I have forgotten that girl
and all the sadness she brought me. Please, I beg you don’t scold me. The girl I love now returns
my love.” This supports my claim by showing that romeo is not ready to love someone else and
especially not ready to get married to them. Romeo is still immature and so is Juliet.
Romeo and Juliet being star crossed lead to their own deaths. On page 269 Romeo states,
“ I’ll rest here forever. Here’s to my love. (Romeo drinks the poison) His drugs work quickly. So
I die with a kiss.” This supports my claim by showing that Romeo could not bare to live without
Juliet. Even though Juliet wasn't dead, Romeo did not have to kill himself. He could have moved
on and loved someone else.
Juliet killed herself because she could not live without Romeo. On Page 275 Juliet states,
“Poison, I see, has been the cause of his death. Oh, good a knife. My body will be your sheath.
Rust inside my body and let me die.” This supports my claim by showing they are immature.
They had only known each other less than 24 before they was married and now they are
both death. They both thought they couldn’t live without each other. Romeo and Juliet star crossed love has led to paris death. On page 265 paris states, “It's that arrogant Montague, the one who's been banished. He's the one who murdered my love's cousin Tybalt. They think she died for grief for that person.” Paris didn't know about Juliet and Friar Laurence plan, so paris thinks that Juliet died of grief and now he is angry with Romeo. Their plan was for Juliet to appear dead so she wouldn't have to marry paris. When she wakes up her and Romeo would sneak out of the city. In this process paris ended up getting killed. Did you know that Romeo and Juliet was one of the biggest love story of all time. Romeo and Juliet is a story of two star-crossed lovers from two families the Capulets and the Montagues. The Capulets and the Montague had a big fight that made the families very angry at each other. Romeo and Juliet decide to get married. The two couple marry and run away. In the process both of them will die. When it comes to Romeo and Juliet who are the top three people that caused the two to die. The two people that are chosen are Friar Lawrence and Lady Capulet. Friar was chosen because he is the one that married Romeo and Juliet. Lady Capulet was chosen because she is forcing Juliet to marry Paris which is making Juliet want Romeo even more. The third thing
Juliet strategizes her disastrous plan and worries, “How if, when I am laid into the tomb, I wake before the time that Romeo come to redeem me?” (Lines 30-32 of Act Four, Scene Three). Juliet is desperate to see Romeo, ergo she plans to fake her death. Her thoughts of Romeo finding her lifeless foreshadows their future. Romeo is deprived of the news of Juliet’s real state of health, therefore he says, “Well, Juliet, I will lie with thee tonight. O mischief, thou art swift to enter the thoughts of desperate men!” (Lines 34-36 of Act Five, Scene One). Once again, Romeo’s perception is only focused on Juliet. His mental instability leads him to think Paris is in the way obtaining true happiness, thus he slays him. Romeo acquires poison, stands beside Juliet, and states, “Here’s to my love! (Drinks.) O true apothecary! Thy drugs are quick. Thus with a kiss I die.” (Lines 119-120 of Act Five, Scene Three). Romeo observes Juliet’s body and determines that he should die beside her. Juliet wakes to his lifeless body, and determines she should commit suicide, as well. Romeo’s foolish decisions lead to the death of himself and
In the end Romeo is responsible for five deaths, Mercutio, Tybalt, Paris, Juliet and himself. Juliet kills herself because she is under different circumstances and does what she feels is the only option left. Juliet is courageous and strong for seeking advice and not being overly sensitive. Romeo is not only weak and foolish but is responsible for the tragic death of his own and Juliet’s.
Romeo and Juliet are madly in love with each other and will go to any lengths to be together.
...ave to face responsibility for his death. Thus, he leaves Juliet alone in a vault filled with dead ancestors, as well as recently dead Romeo and Paris, and she kills herself.
This is exactly how Romeo behaves. Juliet on the other hand had to marry Count Paris so her love with Romeo is simply a way to get out of it. She never had a relationship with a man and she didn’t like to have her first and only relationship with a man her parents arranged for her. She wanted freedom and Romeo was her ticket to it.
Romeo says that he is now going to defy fate and he is going to commit suicide. He has said many times that he cannot go on without Juliet. Now that the time has come and she has died, so he believes, he has made plans to leave tonight and to see Juliet one last time and then kill himself. Romeo says, “Is it e’en so? Then I defy you stars!, Thou know’st my lodging: get me ink and paper, And hire post-horses; I will hence tonight” This just proves that love is a very powerful emotion that drives people to take actions that we would not normally do.
Romeo believes that he needs to kill himself to be with his true love: "I set up my everlasting rest, And shake the yoke of inauspicious stars From this world-wearied flesh...Here’s to my love! [Drinks] O, true apothecary!Thy drugs are quick. Thus with a kiss, I die" (page ). Romeo needs to be with Juliet because of his deep love for her, his desire to be with her leads him to kill himself. Romeo’s decision to end his life has a disastrous impact on his family and Juliet's, this destruction directly leads to two more deaths. After Romeo has ended his life Juliet awakens and sees Romeo’s dead body. This causes the young teenager to take on a course of action similar to her love's believing that it is the only way to be with him, " O happy dagger![Snatching ROMEO’s dagger]This is thy sheath; [Stabs herself] there rust, and let me die. [Falls on ROMEO’s body, and dies]" Juliet is eager to end her life and considers it to be the best and only option to maintain her love. Although she considers death the best option it leads to a disastrous impact on her family (once again) and Friar Lawrence the one who helps her to stage her fake
woman that he was in love with. Both long after the unattainable, Romeo knows he
Even these star-crossed lovers know that despite their love for each other, tragic fate may intervene at the end.
Over Reacting and Fate in Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Romeo and Juliet were described as'star crossed lovers' at the beginning of the play. The term'star crossed' refers to the stars one is born under; with this crossed means not to be. So by the beginning of the play, this love was already doomed. This play also contains strong, very emotional characters that bring about giving poor advice to Romeo and Juliet and soon leads to the death of the two lovers.
In the play Romeo and Juliet, by William Shakespeare, Juliet fakes her own death. Some responsibility for this goes to a number of characters in the play, with some characters being more influential and others playing small parts in the matter. Three stand out as contributors to her decision: Tybalt, Capulet, and Nurse.

The tragic play, Romeo and Juliet, by William Shakespeare, tells the story of two young people that fell in love. Shakespeare states that his play is about, “A pair of star-crossed lovers take their lives ;”(1.Prologue.6) The play took place in Verona, Italy, where two royal families, the Montagues and Capulets, go through a huge fight, which causes a tragic ending. William Shakespeare does a wonderful job taking the reader into the fight throughout the story. Romeo, a Montague, got invited to a ball in the Capulet’s household, and that’s where everything began. Romeo met the love of his life at the ball, but little did he know, he was giving up his life to be with her. Throughout the play, Romeo and Juliet go through a lot of issues together; which leads to them killing themselves, in hopes of staying together forever. Although the two killed themselves, they are not to blame for their deaths. In the play, Friar Lawrence and the Nurse should both be punished, and Romeo should be pardoned for his actions.
