The methods and medicines used in Renaissance and Medieval times were very primitive compared to today's standards. medical concepts were magical and demoniacal. With no anesthetics, no knowledge of how the human body and it's functions people many times would do anything they thought would help, not necessarily what worked.
They to cure people from "evil" or the devil, people would literally open up a person's skull and then massage the brain.
Wizards (alchemist) would mix potions, trying to find eternal life , and cures to everything. For years these alchemists tried to find a way to change lead into gold, they as you probably know never suceed.
Alchemists as crazy as they may seem to us were in reality the first chemists discovering metals and mixing them etc.
Here's a poem about something that happen during the Renaissance:
Ring around the rosies,
A pocket full of posies,
Ashes, ashes!
We all fall down.
For hundreds of years children sang this song not knowing the horrible meaning behind it.
Song was written about the Bubonic Plague. Horrible living conditions in the cities and town helped the "Black Plague" spread killing thousands and greatly lowered the population of the world. It would cause glands to swell and caused a horrible oder in it's victims.
There was not really a sanitation system in Elizabethan England garbage was left in the street for days, rats would then get into the garbage and the rats would then spread the plague rapidly and in one great wave swept across the country side. No one was safe, but important religious officials like the arch bishop of France were surrounding in fire for months.
Back to the meaning of the poem: The rosies refer to rosary beads to
In William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet and Yukio Mishima’s The Sound of Waves, the secondary characters play an essential role in the book. In Romeo and Juliet by an English playwright and poet William Shakespeare, Friar Lawrence is an important secondary character who designs solutions for Romeo and Juliet and brings the play into the dramatic results. The failure of his plan causes the tragedy of death for both main characters at the end of the story. In The Sound of Waves, Shinji Kubo, a young and poor fisherman in Uta-Jima falls in love with Hatuse, a rich man’s daughter. Shinji and Hatsue try to be together throughout the book, but encounter many difficulties with their neighbors. Shinji’s mother tries to help Shinji and Hatsue by asking many people and going to shrines to beg the gods for help to get them together.
Whenever something bad goes down, we always want to blame someone else but ourselves. In the case of Romeo and Juliet, Friar Lawrence is the real person to blame. People think that he's the one who was trying to put things back together for the families, but really he wasn't. Giant problems that the Friar ended up causing happen include about three different deaths, lying people and his own selfishness. The Friar may look like the innocent one here, but he isn't. People may think that he is innocent because he was trying to make the two children happy towards the end, but really he was trying to save his own skin. If there is anyone to blame here, it's the Friar.
The proverb goes that “the road to hell is paved with good intentions.” In the classic play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, this proverb reflects Friar Lawrence’s preeminent role in the tragedy of the two teenage lovers, each belonging to feuding families in Verona. Though Friar Lawrence’s motives are filled with good intentions, he does not always use the moral approach to reach them. In his play, Friar Lawrence is the most responsible character for Romeo and Juliet’s deaths because he is not only political, but also irresponsible and deceptive.
The story began as it could be a fantasy. They seemed like the perfect couple. They were happily in love.
10 years later Romeo was in prison with Friar lawrence. Romeo did not die because Apothecary did not want to go against the law, but he needed the money so he gave him a deep sleep potion like the one Juliet took to fake her death. Except the potion Apothecary gave him was a home made potion which caused Romeo to go in a deep sleep, and caused his brain to not function normally.
There are two types of advice: positive advice, and poor advice. Both kinds of advice can be taken in different directions. The good advice will be taken in the positive direction. Meanwhile the poor advice can be taken into the negative direction. In the play, Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, a lot of poor advice is given to the characters. The poor advice given to Romeo and Juliet ultimately affected the way they behaved, thus making them responsible for their deaths.
I believe that Juliet is romeos first love at sight. He love Rosaline but is not as much as juliet. His infatuation with Rosaline does not effect his love with Juliet for many reasons.
Romeo and Juliet looking at each other from across the ballroom, from just a first glance at each other they’re already “in love” with each other. Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare is a story about two teenagers who are madly in love, but the problem is that both of their families are enemies. The classic “romantic” novel of Romeo and Juliet is not true love because both of them only “fell in love’ with each other from first glance at their looks, then barely into 24 hours they are already married to each other. Throughout the whole story we will see that they only “ fell in love” with each other from their looks and how obsessed they are with one another.
Should Mr. Thoma bring back Romeo and Juliet next year or not. Learning about Romeo and juliet this year was a good experience for me and it taught me a lot about how not to hurt yourself just because of a person. During the book I learned how people can be inspired to do different things. Lastly, Romeo and Juliet was an eye opener for me because it taught me that just because you think you're in love with someone you don't have to harm yourself to be with the.

Everyone has heard of the tragic love story of Romeo and Juliet but is it a love story? This story takes place in Verona Italy and talks about a boy named Romeo who was desperate for love and girl named Juliet who didn't want to marry Paris, the man her parents arranged her to get married to. These two individuals fall in love within seconds of seeing each other at a party, and suddenly nothing matters besides that person. They love each other so much to the point where they get married the next day. However, this causes more trouble and ends up with them dead. This so-called “love story” is no love story at all, instead, it’s about kids growing up dealing with situations that they don’t know how to deal with.
