Everything and every choice you make affects you in life. In the play Romeo and Juliet the two teenagers believe that they do not choose their own destiny. They think they are meant to be together cause destiny brought them together. In my opinion they couldn't be more wrong. I know that you and only you are a master of your own destiny. I believe that you are in control of your own life. People will bring up the “it's your destiny” statement. The destiny thing can be true but you are the one in the end who will make it happen for yourself. If you sit around waiting for something good to happen it simply won't until you get up and get whatever it is you want. If you need something you have to do everything in your power to make it happen. In
Did you know that Romeo and Juliet was one of the biggest love story of all time. Romeo and Juliet is a story of two star-crossed lovers from two families the Capulets and the Montagues. The Capulets and the Montague had a big fight that made the families very angry at each other. Romeo and Juliet decide to get married. The two couple marry and run away. In the process both of them will die. When it comes to Romeo and Juliet who are the top three people that caused the two to die. The two people that are chosen are Friar Lawrence and Lady Capulet. Friar was chosen because he is the one that married Romeo and Juliet. Lady Capulet was chosen because she is forcing Juliet to marry Paris which is making Juliet want Romeo even more. The third thing
Well there is always the fate aspect in everything that occurs in our lives but majority of the outcomes created from the individuals own decisions. It is up to the individual to determine what can occur, if they do one thing then something will be the outcome. A side from that, there is always the possibility of being at the wrong place at the wrong time which can have an affect of on the outcomes of life.
Destiny or fate is a controversially talked about subject that has arised for many years. ‘Destiny is referred to as a predetermined course of events.’ Many people, especially in Shakespearean times, believe that God has a life plan for every individual. A sense of destiny in its oldest human sense is the soldier’s fatalistic image of the ‘bullet that has your name on it’ or the moment when ‘your number comes up’ or a romance that was ‘meant to be.’ Many Greek legends and tales teach the futility or trying to outmanoeuvre an inexorable fate that has been correctly predicted. Today we have people that can ‘predict out future’ whether we nowadays still have the belief in the stars and the ability to read them is another controversial matter. Elizabethan astrology fascinated many prominent Elizabethans. The subject is mentioned in every single one of Shakespeare’s plays. At the time the play Romeo and Juliet was published Robert Burton was the astrologer of the era. In Shakespeare’s plays astrology was often critical to the plots when the actions and events surrounding characters are said to be ‘favoured’ or ‘hindered’ by the stars. In the tempest the main character is said to be based on John Dee, who was a famous astrologer and scholar in the Elizabethan era. Destiny is the idea of necessity ‘everything in the world is conditioned and takes place according to necessity.’ ‘Fatalism is based on the assumption that everything in the world and in peoples lives is predetermined by natural or super natural forces, that God set everything out.’ Destiny also mans ‘dragged by force.’ If Romeo would have stayed in his, not gone to the Capulet’s party, left the party when Capulet saw him would all this of happened? That is the idea of destiny...
There has been a long debate on if a person can control their destiny or not. Macbeth, by William Shakespeare and The Sports gene by David Epstein both have similar views, that says a person cannot control their destiny. Macbeth, by William Shakespeare, follows the life of Macbeth and his best friend Banquo on their lives towards their ultimate fates/destinies. The Sports Gene, by David Epstein, follows the journey of Donald Thomas to finding out that he has a skill in high jump. Shakespeare and Epstein both have similar views and have details about their reasonings; even though the two pieces are very similar Shakespeare better answers the question, how much of what happens in our lives do we control, because he has multiple reasonings and
Destiny, also known as fate, is said to control the outcome of one's life. However, does destiny really determine what occurs in people’s lives on a daily basis or is it just a convenient excuse when things don’t go as planned? The Truman Show is a 1998 film directed by Peter Weir that shows us that the decisions we make define our destiny rather than our destiny defining our decisions. Without knowing, Truman Burbank has been the star of a reality television show since birth. Having no control of the events that happen in his life, Truman decides to get out of the town that seems to keep him hostage. Truman could have decided to let Christof, the creator of his world, keep him in Seahaven for the rest of his
Destiny plays a considerable role in everyone’s lives. It is the events that will necessarily happen to a particular person or thing in the future. The inevitable fate that comes with destiny fabricates all the decisions in our existence. Every so often when something occurs in our lives, we find ourselves wondering if it was truly destiny or if the result was owed to our actions. However, everyone has the choice to believe that the actions that influence their present way of life are due to a greater force. One always has the option to make decisions and choose which path they would like to take, and every one of these decisions will indefinitely have a positive or negative consequence. Nonetheless, it is only the positive outcomes that are acknowledged as fate. On many occasions when something detrimental transpires...
Everyone is to blame for the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet. Romeo, Juliet, Friar Laurence, and Romeo and Juliet’s parents all played their own role in causing the four deaths of Romeo, Juliet, Tybalt, and Paris. It is not just one of them to blame, every one of them did something to cause the tragedy. Some of them played a bigger role than others, but everyone contributed. Fate had nothing to do with it and it was all the different characters faults. Romeo, Juliet, and Friar Lawrence’s rash decisions where the main cause of the tragedy.
In the story of romeo and juliet's roller coaster of love, free will plays a huge part in the story, making their fate change every second. As they say, there are always consequences whether in life or romeo and juliett. In the story, romeo and juliett consequently met at the party but there free will to love each other and all the choices they made ultimately led to their death. The only fate is what we make, the world is broad and wide like said in the book, meaning many choices need to be made. Actions are the seed that plants your destiny, there is now way our life is just laid out in front of us. For example, Bill gates, on of the most richest men in the world was a high school drop out, but his choice to turn his life around made him
William Shakespeare's timeless tragedy "Romeo and Juliet" captivates people with its exploration of the complexities of love, fate, and human nature. At its core, the play dives into the concept of tragic heroism through the characters of Romeo and Juliet, whose fatal flaw lies not in their actions but in their circumstances, highlighting the interplay between fate and free will. We see this in another story with Simba and Nala in “The Lion King.” Firstly, like Romeo and Juliet, Simba and Nala come from different social backgrounds. Simba is the son of Mufasa, the king of the Pride Lands, while Nala is the daughter of Sarafina, a member of the Lioness Pride.
You have no control over these things, it is fate that has that control. Alought to some extent, free will may have a minor part in your future, it is ultimately fate that determines it. There is an extent to which a person controls their own life, like what they want to be, what they want to do, but when it comes to their future and the direction in which their life is going to take, it is fate that does it. Just like life, your future is something that you have no control over, you have no idea what to expect, you can only hope that fate works out in your favor and give fate the benefit of the doubt. A majority of people people that you control your life, but it’s not the case.
All of the events that happen in this world are either controlled by fate or that person's free will. You can plan something according to how you want it to be, or you can go somewhere and unexpectedly have fate control the chain of events after you perform that action. But in some case scenarios, the chain of events that can lead to someone's downfall or success are controlled by both the free will of that person and fate. You can choose to do something willingly, and your fate can s (finish this…) Specifically speaking, many of the events in ‘The Tragedy of Julius Caesar’ by William Shakespeare, are controlled by both fate and free will according to the actions of the characters beforehand.
In the poem of Romeo and Juliet there are a lot of thematic elements that can be put up to debate or left to be interpreted by the reader. The main theme of this story is love, but many do not realize that there is more to the story than that. For example, human nature, fate, and holding grudges. All of these can be represented through all of the characters in the story. A lot of themes are not seen by readers and people do not see some of the more in depth topics that Shakespeare wanted us to learn from.
William Shakespeare once said, “It is not in the stars to hold our destiny but in ourselves.” By this he meant that fate does not decide what happens to one; rather, one’s destiny and life is in his or her own hands. One’s choices and decisions determine the course of events in his or her life. However, Shakespeare’s adage may no longer hold true. As self-driving cars flood the roadways, one’s life, quite literally, is no longer in his or her own hands.
We all have our own paths to follow, our own choices to make, but are we really choosing them? Or are they chosen for us already? People ask this, but never find a straight answer. Most rely on destiny because it’s the only thing they can grasp onto. Sure, God gave us free will but that doesn’t mean we don’t have a destiny. We all have a
In my opinion I think that we are in control of our life, because even though sometimes we can’t control situations, we should be able to control our happiness, by controlling our minds, stop making ourselves unhappy by walking away from situations that no longer makes you a better person. We can control our happiness by controlling our minds with positive thoughts and making good choices. For example, being optimistic about your abilities. You should tell yourself that you will succeed, even though you might not believe it in that moment. Also, you should stop jumping to conclusions and you should ask yourself if you really know that the thought you are having is true.
