Romeo and Juliet are two star-crossed lovers. Juliet is a Capulet. She falls in love with Romeo and will do anything she could to be with him. Even if it dealing with both of their families who don't like each other and don't see eye to eye. She fakes her death so she doesn't have to marry Paris, but this attempt backfires. When she wakes up, she finds Romeo dead right next to her. She takes his dagger and kills herself. The reason for this is because she doesn't want to live a life without her true love, Romeo. Romeo is a Montague. He was once in love with Rosaline, until he sees Juliet and instantly falls in love with her at the Capulet feast. Romeo is quick to love Juliet and he acts by killing himself when he hears that Juliet is dead. In my opinion, the effects of love in Romeo and Juliet are
negative. The effects of love in the story, Romeo and Juliet are negative because they were so in love, they did everything they could to love and be with each other but that cause a horrible outcome. 1st reason why the effects of love in the story, Romeo and Juliet are negative is because they were so in love, they were will to do everything in their right mind to be with each other. 2nd reason why the effects of love in the story, Romeo and Juliet are negative is because the hate from both of their family causes it to be harder to love and see each other. When Juliet finds out that Romeo is a Montague. She is terribly upset. She tries to figure out what and why is the reason for the two families dysfunctional problems, and why her family would hate a person with the name of Montague. She says his name is the main reason why he is disliked by her parents, not him as a person. 3rd reason is at the end of the story, both Romeo and Juliet dies. When Romeo goes to the tomb to see Juliet. He cries, he tells Juliet about the love he has for her. He made her a promise that he will remain by her side forever, even if he has to kill himself to do so. He drinks the poison soon dies afterwards. This is the ultimate act of love, killing their self for each others love. But its negative because the parents of Romeo and Juliet are full of grief finding out that their children have killed themselves. "A pair of star-crossed lovers take their life.” (Shakespeare prologue line 6) The thesis is on the effects of love in the story, Romeo and Juliet and how the outcome is negative. It's negative because they were so in love, they did everything in their control to love and be with each other and this relates to my quote. My quote relates with the thesis because two starred crossed lover went through a whole lot and even died to be with each other. The quote I picked was " A pair of star-crossed lovers take their life. The quote means in the story of Romeo and Juliet, their love was doomed from the start. This is because their families were in such a heavy feud. It caused them not to be able to be with each other, see each other or even love each other and this cause them to end their own lives before their time has come. They didn't kill themselves on purpose. They didn't even kill themselves because of the feud. It was more by accident. Their plan to run away together backfired, and they both ended up dead.
Romeo and Juliet show very vividly that love can be a dangerous influence. Romeo and Juliet are from rival families and have found love. They had put aside their families ancient hatred and fell in love in secrecy which obviously came with consequence. In Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, the author communicates the message that love causes humans to make irrational decisions. We know this because of their decision to get married, Juliet's decision to fake her death, and Romeo and Juliets to end their lives,
Romeo- Love causes Romeo to act impulsively and put himself in dangerous situations. For example, in act two scene two, Romeo sneaks into the Capulet grounds due to his love for Juliet. He loves her so much that he was willing to risk being caught by Juliet’s kinsman. If he was caught, a fight could have broken out, which would put Romeo’s life in danger. Also, he would lose his life due to the prince’s penalty. However, due to his intrusion of the Capulet party in act one scene five, it is Tybalt’s rage that jeopardizes Romeo’s well-being. This shows the intensity of Romeo’s love for Juliet, and how he cares more about seeing her than his own safety. For example, in act five scene three, Romeo kills himself because he believes that Juliet
Juliet wakes up and finds Romeo dead she kills herself. The result of the ignorance of the
In William Shakespeare's “Romeo And Juliet” Romeo is the main character. He is Montague's son. Which means he is the son of his loves enemy, the Capulets. Romeo is very depressed, he is very negative, impulsive, anxious, emotional, and he is a rebel. Romeo is stupid if he would have taken it slow and not rushed things with Juliet they might still be alive. Due to Romeo and Juliet's mad love for eachother, and their families hatred towards each other they died.
Romeo and Juliet is arguably the most famous story about love in literature. This is in part because of the tension caused by the look the different characters have towards what love means and its role in life. These views were very important for the progression of the story. Their different views collided and caused much grief and sorrow for the characters throughout play. Many important events that propelled the story forward would not have happened without the various feelings towards love the characters have and how they felt of and reacted to the other characters’ view on love.
Romeo and Juliet are madly in love with each other and will go to any lengths to be together. To support my thesis that the conflict between the heads of the Montague and Capulet families is responsible for Romeo and Juliet's death, I quote from Romeo and Juliet (V, iii, 291-293) Prince: ". Capulet! Montague.
Throughout Romeo and Juliet, love and hate are combined. However, even though they are combined, love still remains the principal theme in the play. Although in the play, the theme of hatred can be just as important and sometimes it intensifies the theme of love. For example, Romeo and Juliet’s love wouldn’t have been so extreme and powerful unless there was the hatred between the Montague’s and Capulet’s. We observe this from the very beginning of the prologue.
In every fairy tale, movie, story, and play there is always a ‘happily ever after’ but in not in this case. The star struck lovers, Romeo and Juliet, both from families who loathe each other, end up taking their lives because they rather die than live without one another. The play “Romeo and Juliet” written by, William Shakespeare, mainly focuses on how selfishness can lead to tragedy. The selfish personalities of the characters caused conflict, betrayal, and death.
The story of Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy. The two lovers go against their families and against their hate to be together but they don’t think about the consequences, which in the end are devastating.
Romeo and Juliet is a tragic story about a pair of star-crossed lovers whose demises were unexpected to most. However, their deaths were a result of their impulsiveness. It caused their problematic marriage, Romeo’s preventable death, as well as Juliet’s preventable death.
Love is a wonderful curse that forces us to do unexplainable things. Romeo and Juliet is a famous play written by William Shakespeare, who does an exceptional job in showing the readers what hate, mercy, death, courage, and most importantly what love looks like. This play is about two star-crossed lovers who are both willing to sacrifice their lives just to be with one another. Unfortunately tragedy falls upon the unconditional love Romeo and Juliet have for each other, but along the way they experience immeasurable forgiveness and extraordinary braveness just to be with one another. Sadly enough, love is a cause of violence in the end. Even though the pair spends less time together, it is enough for them to fall in love. It is clearly true
Ultimately`, William Shakespeare shows in many different ways throughout the play, ‘Romeo and Juliet’, that love is the more powerful force than hate. The readers see how the characters continuously forgive one another, even when the conditions are tough. The friendships between specific characters display a loving bond that cannot be broken with hate. Shakespeare demonstrates that Romeo and Juliet’s love can overpower the hate of many events in the play. He shows that their love can even overpower the death of one of their own family members. Romeo and Juliet’s love brings friendship between their feuding families. This story is a true example of how love can conquer all.
Romeo and Juliet is a romantic love story about a young lad named Romeo who has fallen in love with Lady Juliet, but is unable to marry her because of a long-lasting family feud. The play ends in the death of both these characters and the reunion of the friendship between the families. Romeo is in love with Juliet, and this is a true, passionate love (unlike the love Paris has for her or the love Romeo had for Rosaline) that nothing can overcome, not even the hatred between their two families that is the reason for the death of their two children. Throughout the play, Shakespeare thoroughly explores the themes of both true love and false love and hatred. Without either of these themes, the play would loose its romantic touch and probably would not be as famous as it is today.
In the play “Romeo and Juliet”, Shakespeare shows that love has power to control one’s actions, feelings, and the relationship itself through the bond between a destined couple. The passion between the pair grew strong enough to have the capability to do these mighty things. The predestined newlyweds are brought down a rocky road of obstacles learning love’s strength and the meaning of love. The power of love controlled Romeo and Juliet's actions.
The power of love has had negative effects on many people who are in or even out of love. Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare is about two lovers that go through many problems due to their love life. Romeo and Juliet face many challenges trying to solve away to let their love be free without their families trying to rip each other apart. They face the same side the effects the author Helen Fisher speaks about in her article All for Love. These effects can defend why love is Bad.
