Should romeo and juliet be included in the 9th grade. No it should not be included in the 9th grade for the simple fact that it is inappropriate. There are lots of ways to prove that it is not appropriate for students at our age.The story is not even liked by most of the students that read it.A lot of people don't even gain knowledge from it.Also tons of people can't even understand his writing One of the reasons is for his language and how not many people understand it.why would you want to use this for our education when half of the teachers don't understand it so why teach it to students. As stated before not many people enjoy reading it.The main reason is that it is not that interesting. When it starts to get interesting you can't understand
Did you know that Romeo and Juliet was one of the biggest love story of all time. Romeo and Juliet is a story of two star-crossed lovers from two families the Capulets and the Montagues. The Capulets and the Montague had a big fight that made the families very angry at each other. Romeo and Juliet decide to get married. The two couple marry and run away. In the process both of them will die. When it comes to Romeo and Juliet who are the top three people that caused the two to die. The two people that are chosen are Friar Lawrence and Lady Capulet. Friar was chosen because he is the one that married Romeo and Juliet. Lady Capulet was chosen because she is forcing Juliet to marry Paris which is making Juliet want Romeo even more. The third thing
A second reason why banning the book Of Mice and Men would be bad idea is because the book is very well writte...
What makes scene 4.4 in Romeo and Juliet unique is the way in which the dynamic between the public and the characters is handled. The people in the audience are put in a situation where they know more than the characters on the stage. Apart from the spectators the only other person who knows that Juliet is not actually dead, but just appears to be, is Friar Laurence. Shakespeare is well aware of the possibilities that this situation presents him with and uses them to enhance the scene and give it a second layer of meaning. He contrasts the joy of his characters in the beginning of the scene with their sadness at the end with his use of caesuras and repeated words in different types of situations.
In Act IV, scene III of The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, Juliet is forced to make a decision; take a sleeping potion gifted to her by Friar Laurence and risk possibly being stuck in the Capulet family tomb, or marry Paris. To her, marrying Paris is not an option and so she drinks the vile. Although, before consuming the Friar’s remedy, Juliet expresses her worries in her soliloquy. To do this, Shakespeare manipulates imagery and the rhetorical device of questioning to reveal his main character’s deepest and darkest fears.
This novel should be banned from the high school curriculum. This novel is too inappropriate for high school students. The novel may be too much for them to handle because of all the profanity and discrimination. This novel may be more suited for a college class were the students are much more mature and could handle all of the actions that take place in the
David Pelzer’s books, “The Child Called It” and “The Lost Boy” should be taught in high school English classes. I think most students in a high school English class are old enough and, mature to handle the contents of the books and to get a understanding of what David went through. At times the books are a little to detailed, but people have to understand it is something that happens in everyday life, and people cant be prejudiced towards the children. It is something that everyone has to accept weather we want to or not. After reading the books, or after reading just the first book, is enough for a person to be aware of child abuse, and how it can really harm the child not only physically but mentally. It also lets people know that it’s not the child’s fault, so they shouldn’t be treated differently.
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn has been banned from many high school classrooms over the years. This novel by author Mark Twain is one of the most controversial books in the United States. Huck Finn should not be removed from high school curriculums for mature students. Twain’s writing not only exposes the vices of 19th century Southern society and teaches about topics that spark debates, it also opens students’ eyes to social issues that are still problems in today’s society. Mature students should be exposed to The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn in the classroom setting.
Who would be willing to die for their loved ones? Romeo and Juliet would and did. Romeo and Juliet’s love and death brought two families together who could not even remember the origin of their hate. When the parents saw what their children's love for each other, they realized that their fighting had only led to suffering and insoluble conflict. Romeo and Juliet loved each other to an extent that they killed themselves rather than live apart. They did it with no hiatus. Juliet says before she kills herself, “O happy dagger, This is thy sheath. There rust and let me die.”( 5, 3, 182-183) demonstrating how she would rather die than not be with him.
In conclusion I believe that anyone who thinks that they would enjoy this book should have access to this book. Because of the many reason I stated above. 9th graders should have a choice weather or not they should read it. And most 9th graders should be able to handle it. And the truth that most 9th grader have seen and read worst and lastly 9th grader are more mature than. I understand why some say that this book usage is for adults and not kids or teen but I personally believe that reading this story the story was not that bad and really shouldn’t even be banned for middle school students. I think it comes down to if you think you can handle this book or not.
...rtant for people to read it helps exercise the mind and allow it grow and learn new material.
In scene 2 act 5, it shows the long waiting of Juliet for her Nurse to deliver her lover’s message. She is anticipating for the news Romeo has to give her, but has to wait torturously for the Nurse. The Nurse is used as form of communication between Romeo and her. However, the Nurse is making excuses and taking her time to relay his message. This shows her Nurse’s doubtful reaction to Romeo’s words. As the setting, the stage is set to portray Juliet in her garden alone to show her boredom upon waiting. Juliet will be looking at the flowers in the garden. She will walk back and forth with big steps. The garden is set to be behind the Capulet’s house and a gate will be at the front where the Nurse will enter. The characters that are involved
“But soft, what light through yonder window breaks?/ It is the east, and Juliet is the sun/ Arise, fair sun, and kill the envious moon/ Who is already sick and pale with grief/ That thou her maid art far more fair than she/ Be not her maid since she is envious/ Her vestal livery is but sick and green/ And none but fools do wear it. Cast it off!/ It is my lady. Oh, it is my love/ Oh, that she knew she were!” (Shakespeare II ii 2-11).
“O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo? Deny thy father and refuse thy name;” (Shakespeare, 536). In the book, ‘Romeo and Juliet”, by William Shakespeare there is a deeper meaning that Shakespeare is trying to portray other than parents cannot control their children’s hearts. He is trying to portray that a name is only a name and it doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things and that even with a different name that person will still be the same person they have always been. Shakespeare is using the characters: Juliet, Romeo, Lord Capulet, Friar Lawrence, and the Nurse to get this message across to the reader or the viewer.
I think students should read this book because it teaches about friendship. They give you an idea on what you should do and what not to do. Friends don’t give out other people's secrets.
Firstly I believe reading is of value however reading novels is not. A lot of people rely on technology now and rather read E-books than a novel. Reading online is also accessed a lot easier now than it used to be so it has become convenient for people to read online. Many students don't enjoy reading novels and do not get the true reading experience, a lot of people read due to the...
