The people it especially effects is those of the host city as well as the host city as well. The Olympics Organizing Committee is the committee that is in charge of the sustainability planning that goes on many years in advance. These are in depth programs that are done throughout the years prior to the Olympics coming to the host city, as there are four years in between each Olympic event.
The upcoming Olympics are located in Rio Grande, Brazil. The Organizing committee has made public their sustainability report, with some of the events and programs that have already been implemented for the past couple of years already. This report includes items such as the following information retrieved from (Rio 2016 Organising Committee):

management • People: Games for everybody o Involvement and raising awareness o Universal accessibility o Diversity and inclusion • Prosperity: responsibility and transparency o Sustainable supply chain o Management and transparency Key Findings The Key findings in all of the research would be that all major special events have a sustainability conscience.
They have continuously over the most previous years become more extensive, implemented, and complete. These reports and committees that are formed are vital for the future generations of this world. The mass amount of people and areas that these events affect and the programs that are made and carried out there reach out to the world, so to speak, and this way they are able to affect the lives and how people live their lives in the future.
Special Events Sustainability Committees, programs, and reports change people’s ways of living. They make the areas they affect better off, they make the people who live or visited more aware, and they help to make the world of tomorrow slowly become a more sustainable place to live.

Brazil is bound to host in a two-year span the largest sport events in the World, The 2014 Soccer World Cup and The Olympic games in 2016. The country will attract a lot of investors looking for some brand exposure since the whole world will have their eyes turned to this tropical country. These events present opportunities for Brazil to benefit from tourism and prove to the world that it is ready to take its place as an important piece of global governance. Although Brazil has a flourishing economy, it still has many characteristics of a third world country. Social issues remain present in the country’s politics. There are several concerns regarding the capability of an emerging country to host events with that stature.
The Vancouver Olympics climate related goals included LEED certified, energy-efficient venues; the use of renewable and green energy for its power needs; and relying on public transit during the Games – all of which were achieved (Vancouver 2010 2009).
Erin Franklin Mrs. Bauch 5th Hour Speech 18 May 2016 How many of you know that the Summer Olympics are in Rio this year? What has been happening to Brazil will possibly serve as a lesson to other countries wanting to host the Olympics (Navarro-Garcia). The 2016 Summer Olympics are expected to bring in around 500,000 people to Brazil (? Zika concerns mount?).

The Centennial Olympic Congress of Paris recognized these problems and incorporated the environment as a “third pillar” of the Olympic charter, along with sports and culture. The UN Environment Program (UNEP), now a veteran and influential player in this arena, was among the first to get involved with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to work towards environmental sustainability issues in the Olympics. UNEP has also worked with the IOC to develop an “Agenda 21” for the Olympic Movement based on environmental sustainability guidelines created by delegates at the 1992 UN Conference on Environment and Development. In the year 1994 the IOC committed itself to encourage sustainability among its member nations and sports governing bodies by adopting its own Agenda 21. This agenda is being used by several National Olympic Committees for sustainable development work at the national level (Pitts, A. 2009).
Hosting the Olympics comes with many perks for such as, prestige, the creation of new facilities and countless amounts of benefits. With so many things the Olympics has to offer, there can be numerous reasons why countries compete to be elected as the hosting country for the Olympics. The most common reason countries want to host the Olympic is because of its potential ability to improve the country’s economy significantly. With the entire world participating in the Olympics, the hosting country can market...
The primary goal of The Walt Disney Company is to become one of the world’s leading producers and providers of not only entertainment, but also information (The Walt Disney Company, 2014). The company aims to achieve this by utilizing its immense brand portfolio so as to differentiate services, content, and consumer products. While this is the overall goal, there exist other innate milestones that essentially touch on socially responsible business in enhancing sustainability. They include, but are not limited to; zero net greenhouse gas emissions, whereby the company aims to have reduced net greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2020; zero waste, whereby Walt Disney hopes to achieve a 60% reduction in waste from

Sustainability is an issue that everyone should be concerned about. If the planet Earth is going to exist, as we know it, everyone should wake up and do their part to help achieve a greater level of sustainability. In my English 101 class we learned about the issue of sustainability. Many different topics were discussed and researched throughout the course of the semester. Overall, I think that the sustainability project has been a learning and enlightening experience for everyone in this class. Many more things can be done next semester, since the groundwork has been laid to continue this project for time to come.

Since it began in 1930, the FIFA World Cup has been the largest single event sports competition in the world. Every four years FIFA, the Fédération International de Football Association, calls upon thirty-two of the world’s greatest soccer teams to compete in the stadiums of the host country. In addition to having one of the top competing teams, Brazil will also be hosting the 2014 FIFA World Cup. The 31 day tournament begins in Sao Paulo on June 12th and ends with the championship match in Rio de Janeiro on July 13th. In recent months Brazil has been busy preparing to host the tournament in twelve brand new stadiums around the nation. The World Cup will cost Brazil an estimated fourteen billion dollars, an amount that continues to increase as plans for the tournament become more elaborate. The amount of money the country will be spending on the tournament angers many of the nation’s citizens. Protests have become a daily occurrence in Brazil as citizens rally against the construction of stadiums and the arrangement of the expensive tournament. It has been argued that hosting the World Cup will benefit Brazil’s businesses and economy; however, the upper class will profit from the publicity of the games, not the thirty-five percent of the population living under the poverty level. The 2014 FIFA World Cup should not take place in Brazil due to the need for improvements in law enforcement, education, and the threat of extreme poverty.
Use the 2000 Olympic Games to showcase and implement solutions to global environmental problems, including alternatives to toxic materials and renewable energy.
Sustainability has extended to our field; people have begun to understand the importance and necessity to introduce this practice into their life. All of this not

The Olympics is a mega sport event which is presented once every four years and it has become a golden opportunity for hosts to emerge as a strong country. Hosting the Olympics is a big thing for every country and they receive worldwide attention from the preparation period until the actual event. However, hosting the Olympics comes with heavy stakes and experts tend to argue about the appropriateness for the countries to host it. There may be people who oppose with hosting the Olympics, however, the country rebranding, the economy hike and also the pride and patriotism of citizens just demonstrate the need of hosting the Olympics for the development of the country.
