Love and Marriage

Love is defined as a feeling of strong or constant affection for a person. Faithfulness is often defined as true to one's word, promises, vows, or being loyal. In Homer’s famous story, The Odyssey, Odysseus and Penelope show their true love for one another, and how a good marriage can stay together. In “Bound by Love and Disability, and Keeping a Vow Until the End” you can take away that Edwin and Noemi love each other dearly. Marriages do not always turn out the way you want, but true love can make good things happen.

As illustrated in the Odyssey, you can understand that Odysseus and Penelope are truly in love and are faithful to one another. In the scene when Odysseus returns home and is disguised as an old beggar, Penelope realizes it is Odysseus when he makes the arrow through the rings. Odysseus tries his

hardest to survive through everything along his journey. He wants to get back home to his family to be happy for himself and for them to be happy. After months, his family thinks he is dead or that he is not coming home, but when he returns home it is a great scene and happy ending to the story. Odysseus finally makes it back to his loving wife Penelope and his son Telemachus, alive. Penelope had to of have a lot of faith in Odysseus to wait that long to see if he returned home to her. Although Penelope had a lot of faith in Odysseus, he also had to of had a lot of faith in their marriage to believe Penelope was not cheating on him with another guy since he was gone for so long. True love and faithfulness are key to any lasting marriage.
In “Bound By Love and Disability, and Keeping a Vow Until the End”, you can clearly notice the love Edwin and Noemi have toward each other. As stated in this article, both Edwin and Noemi had Cerebral Palsy. This disease changed both of their lives dramatically. They had met each other at a long hospital stay a long time ago. And although they had met each other before but never dated or had been together, they found their ways back to one another and got married. They both promised to take care of each other, and that is sure what they did. Together, Edwin and Noemi would go to the circus every year to have a “memorable time”, and they would never miss a televised wrestling match. The memories they made lasted forever even though their lives did not. Love is when you feel depressed and sickly when you're not with her/him. You feel like your life has no meaning or purpose without them, and that if she/he wasn't holding your hand you would float away to heaven from where they came. Love is caring for them physically and emotionally. Noemi and Edwin were truly in love and cared for one another very much and nothing would get in their way.
Marriage is a big step in two peoples lives.

Marriage is the legally or formally recognized union of a man and a woman (or, in some jurisdictions, two people of the same sex) as partners in a relationship. Odysseus and Penelope, and Edwin and Noemi both represented good marriages and true love. The similarities between the two stories, people and marriages are that Odysseus and Penelope and Noemi and Edwin both find their way back to each other eventually, and stay true to one another and also represent the meaning of a faithful marriage. The differences between the stories, people, and marriages are that Odysseus and Penelope are not disabled like the other couple, Edwin and Noemi are. Also, Noemi and Edwin do not have kids like Odysseus and Penelope do. Traits of a good marriage include Ownership: taking responsibility for the good as well as the bad. Hope: believing that good wins over bad. Empathy: walking in your partner’s shoes. Forgiveness: healing the hurt. And commitment: living the love you promised each other. The two couples show each of these traits by staying true to their words and the faithfulness between them

all.
Odysseus and Penelope and Edwin and Noemi all show true love and healthy marriages in the two stories. In both, you can conclude that the two couples are madly in love and stay faithful to one another. Love and marriage are both heavy important and sometimes hard topics in relationships, but if the love s mutuall, you will be happy and get through the toughest times with each other.
