On behalf of the 42nd Congressional District, I am extending my heartfelt congratulations to you for being presented with the Certificate of Appreciation by the City of Norco on this special occasion of your 60th birthday. I regret that my Congressional duties prevent me from attending the National Day of the American Cowboy and celebrate with you. I am honored to take part in celebrating your accomplishments and your devotion to promoting the City of Norco’s western way of life. For more than 30 years you have tirelessly helped over a thousand special needs children experience the life of a rodeo cowboy or cowgirl. Your recognition by the city sends a clear message that the community has benefited greatly from your hard work and dedication.
I also took a greater appreciation in the Alumni Association and the Scotlandville community for all the funds they have invested and giving us programs that could help us with our secondary
My fondest childhood memories involve the Livermore Rodeo, and I simply cannot remember a day in my life where I was not completely in love with this great rodeo. The 2nd weekend of June has always been my favorite time of year and from a very early age, I wanted to help in any way I could. My whole day was easily made anytime I was given a task that would allow me to help out the wonderful directors and volunteers I dreamed of being when I grew up. Being apart of the group that makes Livermore Rodeo possible was just about the coolest thing little me could dream of… besides being Miss Livermore Rodeo Queen of course! So I started helping with little tasks like tying bows on silverware for the queen dinner, moving chairs, wrapping hot dogs, and trying to sell tickets to all my friends at school. Then a day came where I was lucky enough to be apart of S.P.U.R.S. I had already know that I wanted to spend the rest of my life helping to keep the sport of rodeo and the western way of life alive, S.P.U.R.S gave me the opportunity to start helping out my most favorite rodeo in greater ways at a younger age. Whether in the spotlight as Miss Livermore Rodeo Queen, or behind the scenes cleaning up after an event on a hot summer day, it was, is , and always will be my honor and my pleasure to serve rodeo in any way I can. If I am chosen as the recipient
eople riding bulls, wrestling steers, and roping calves all in one sport? What kind of game is this? It’s called rodeo. Rodeo consists of all different kinds of events to choose from, and can be competed in all over the United States, even Canada. These events include bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, team roping, calf roping, steer wrestling, bull riding, and for the girls, barrel racing. This sport is becoming very unique in today’s world. It opens a window to the past, but still provides an exciting atmosphere.
old western mission while following the cowboy code of honor and his romantic ideals along with his lifestyle are all put to the test. It is the story of John Grady Cole living his dream as a cowboy where his true grit is tested and Cole’s survival seems questionable at multiple times throughout the story with encounters he faces. John Grady Cole does not know what exactly is waiting for him along his eventful journey.Early on John Grady Cole loses practically everything that he once thought would be his. Cole 's grandfather dies early just as Hamlet’s father died except Cole’s grandfather wasn’t murdered. Cole nevertheless did lose the land that was once his grand father 's. Cole’s mom who had left his father was still entitled to the property.
But still, speaking here today on behalf of those who have served and those who continue to do so -- active, Reserve or Guard -- your presence here today, for this event, is indeed appreciated. It is appreciated more than you can know.
After the two groups went back and fourth for a couple of hours it was finally time to say goodbye. The dallas council did the famous grito en honor of Mexico's idependence hitting the bell 3 times to announce our independence. It was an amazing experience to be able to be part of such
Thank you again to all the volunteers you are our cornerstone of our organization and make it so this is all
In the small classroom, twelve students crowded around me for a new lesson. I chose Armando this time to help me demonstrate a chess opening strategy, but right as I hovered my hands over my horse, he interrupted the game.
It had been a decade since I camped last, and I recalled it being a jam packed, smokey, noisy family campground. I had only been camping in the “real woods” once, and that was literally decades ago - four of them. And now, Wendy, who is a self-proclaimed Queen-of-the-wilderness, introduced a weekend in the interior of Algonquin Park as one of our - Canadian Destinations.
Stories are a big part of the human race. From conceptualizing the birth of our race to nagging our parents to tell bedtime stories, our life is nothing but a series of stories. It is in human nature to narrate significant incidents of our lives to others. Storytelling as a method has been progressively used by various companies as a tool to connect with their employees and customers. It helps to build a bridge of loyalty, longevity, mutual trust and understanding and connection. Storytelling helps to get that instant personal connect. Stories are significant because they are inherent to human experience. By stories we pass on our accumulated wisdom, beliefs and values to the future generations.
Camp Texas is an experience that I would love to have the opportunity to attend. I live with my grandmother who has raised me since I was 2 years old. She supports me any way she can whether it be emotionally, financially, mentally, etc…. She has been my only base of support and without her I truly don’t know where I would be at today. Growing up I always had my 3 sisters to play with, talk to, and keep me company. The hard reality just hit me, that in a few months I will no longer have them to confide in daily and I will be losing my support system. It will be up to me to make the right choices and while I will be able to call them, nothing beats a nice, warm hug. I will be alone in this cold, hard world.
In the center of the town, known to the people as Jackson, stood the oldest building in the state of Wyoming. Made from old brittle bricks, it stood surprising strong. Although it was in the center of town, people seemed to ignore it, it was always left empty. To one person ,however, it held a special place in his heart. It was a safe haven for Will Rogers. A young boy of twenty-five years old, who didn’t quite mix with society. With his boxy face and slivers for his eyes, (1.) he was the town introvert who tried to be one of the “cool” cowboys. The main building was his place to escape from the brutal old west.
Their playing together were nicely insync with each other. It wasn’t badly off key or anything you might call music that isn’t insync. I specifically liked katie’s singining better than Jim’s. Larry’s ws alright. He sang one song a little better than alright at one point. But she sound like she had a perfect country music voice. I just thought of country music when I heard her. Her guiltar playing fit well with that thought too. Both of them played some of country music song. The last performances were Oren, Gabriel & Avery, a trio of people which consists of two men playing guiltars and a woman who sang. One was a steel guitar. One of the men sang as well. Their voices were okay. But what I really like the best about the group is their
The main reason I wanted to make a speech was to personally say thank you to some very special people who have contributed to today:
When asking most people his or her favorite season that person will say the basic spring, summer, fall, or winter; however, I think of seasons differently. My seasons consist of track season, from the end of February until April; no school season, from May until July; cross country season, from August until November; and soccer season, from November until the middle of February. My life as a high school athlete revolves around school and sports; therefore, my thinking of seasons also revolves around school and sports. There is an attraction to cross country season unlike any other season; consequently, it is my favorite season. Cross country season: the weather, the team, and the euphoria of winning make this the best time of the year.
