Rodeo Clown
A rodeo clown similarly known as a bullfighter or rodeo safety participant is a rodeo entertainer who works in bull riding competitions. Formerly the rodeo clown was a solo occupation merging bullfighting, which is the safeguard of a rodeo rider who was thrown from the bull, with providing comic relief. Today in the United States, the task is divided into two unconnected jobs; one is protecting the riders from the bull, and the other is the job of an entertainer (a barrel man and a comedian), who provides comedy. Although at some small rodeos in other areas of the world, and, the jobs of rodeo rider protection and comic remain combined.
Rodeo clowns originated in the early 1900s.In the beginning cowboys would amuse the crowd between events or if the competition was hindered. The cowboys would wear enormous, loose-fitting clothing and ultimately established a more unusual gear. When bull riding competition started to use bad-tempered Brahma bulls in the 1920s, the need to

divert the bull from fallen riders went to the rodeo clown. The use of a barrel for protection began during the 1930s when a rodeo clown named Jasbo Fulkerson began to use a wooden barrel with a solid bottom (Hollman, 2007). In Australia, rodeo clowns played a significant role in rodeos spectacles for a lot of years. They were appointed to amuse the audiences between events and to help manage the steers and bulls in the stadium. In the 1930s, with the introduction of violent Brahman bulls and Brahman crossbreds, the job turned out to be much more dangerous. In the late 20th century, recognizing the countless dangers faced by the career, the word bullfighter began to be used as a substitute for the title rodeo clown. Over the years the amusement aspect of rodeo clown work progressed, as opposed to saving rodeo athletes. The primary task of the bullfighter is to defend a fallen rider from the bull by distracting the bull and providing a temporary target for the bull to attack, regardless if the rider has been thrown off or has jumped off the animal. These people render themselves to excessive danger in order to safeguard the cowboy. This is why bullfighters wear bright, loose-fitting clothes that are intended to tear away, with protective gear tailored underneath. Additionally rodeo clowns need the skills of quickness, alertness, and the ability to predict a bull's next move. Working strictly with very big, very powerful animals, rodeo clowns are frequently very seriously hurt, and, at times it is deadly and fatal. The rodeo clowns come into the rodeo stadium on foot, prior to the bull being released from the bucking shaft.
They stand on either side of the shaft as the bull is set loose and work as a team to divert the bull and thus safeguarding the bull’s rider and each other. Their starring role is particularly significant when a rider has been injured, in which case the rodeo clown intervenes between the bull and the rider, or uses methods such as running off at an angle, tossing a hat, or yelling, so that the injured rider can depart from the ring. When a rider has been “hung up”, they face a unsafe mission of trying to free the rider, with one bullfighter going to the bull's head to gain its attention, and the other struggling to release the rider. Normally, at larger rodeos, rodeo clowns work in groups of two or three, with two bullfighters wandering around and a third clown or entertainer, who is known as the barrel man. In Australia, rodeo clowns usually do not use barrels or
drums. Typically, the clown carries a microphone and shouts dejectedly at the rodeo broadcaster, the crowd and anyone else he distinguishes. For the duration of the bull riding event, the comic clown supports the other clowns by means of provoking the bull by calling them names and waving props at them, generally from inside the safety of the barrel. Rodeo clowns may also tell jokes and use interesting humor, although in one case, a clown expressed a prejudiced joke about Michelle Obama, which upset a lot of people; however, he and the rodeo's directors afterward asked for forgiveness.
I was itching to get a shot at "Dooms Day" he was the rankest bull in the pen. Pistol had rode him a few weeks ago for 89 points. At most rodeos the barrel race was right before bull riding. Here it's in between calf roping and saddle bronc riding.
Barrel racing is categorized under the sport of rodeo and is most likely associated with the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association and the National Barrel Horse Association. The sport of rodeo also includes bull riding, team roping, and tie down roping and can be mostly associated with the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. Even though the sport of rodeo is mainly dominated by men, barrel racing is the biggest outlet for women to show their skills in such a male dominated sport. Even though any breed is allowed to participate in barrel racing, the American Quarter horse is the most predominant breed in the sport mainly because it is the most versatile of all breeds and has the speed and agility to bend around the barrels. When it comes to the types or bloodlines of the horse, it is more of a personal opinion.
Pit bulls are believed to have originated in the late 1700’s, when the terriers, typically small dogs bred to catch vermin, were crossbred with bulldogs, a stockier dog whose duty was to catch stray cattle. This produced a dog with a high prey drive with a medium-sized, stocky build and powerful jaws. Contrary to popular belief, the dogs were originally used in the sport of bull-baiting, where dogs would attack the cattle - not other dogs. Since the sport was executed in a pit, the dogs were dubbed ‘pit bulls’ and that name has stuck since. When the sport was banned in 1835, the people who relied on these dogs for an income turned the dogs against each other.
One sport of rodeo that raises the eyebrows of many anti-rodeo activists is Team Roping. Team roping was used for the purpose of catching live cattle on the range to perform vaccinations and to treat injuries. Team Roping is defined as on cowboy ropes the steer around the horns and turn left, so that the next cowboy can come behi...
A matador is a bullfighter whose task is to kill the bull. Although most may think Matadors are men, there are also many women who have become matadors and are killing bulls for a living as well. The matador wears a ceremonial outfit called traje de luces, or suit of lights and a montera, which is a traditional folk hat. The red cape that the bullfighters wave is a muleta and the sword used to kill the bull is called the estoque. Six bulls are to be killed by three matadors during the bullfight. Each encounter lasts about 15 minutes. The three matadors, each followed by their assistants, the banderilleros and the picadors march into the ring to the accompaniment of traditional march rhythm music. When a bull first comes into the arena out of the bullpen gate, the matador greets it with a series of manoeuvres or passes, with a large cape. Fighting bulls charge instantly at anything that moves because of their natural instinct. Unlike domestic bulls they do not have to be trained to charge nor are they starved or tortured to make them savage. Ticket prices for bullfights can range from just a few euros to over 100 euros, depending on the seating area. Shaded areas (Sombra) happen to be more expensive than sunny ones (Sol). However, the better or more popular fights, and especially those during the San Isidro festival, are often sold-out almost
Billy and Wyatt of them go through a series of adventures, first stopping off at a motel where they're rejected, regardless of the glowing vacancy sign. This shows that their culture is not accepted in the rest of the world. They leave the motel and camp out in the wilderness. At a point, Wyatt's bike gets a flat, and they stop at a farm to fix it. It is at this point that the film makes a comparison of the bikers to cowboys. As Wyatt is fixing his tire a man in the background is shoeing his horse. This is making the point that Wyatt is the new version of the cowboy and his chopper is the new cowboy’s horse. During this scene there is an exchange between Wyatt and the farmer where Wyatt tells the farmer how much he admires his farm because he built it with his own hands. This is the first time that you get an idea of Wyatt’s values.
...e of their loyalty to their owners and how they did well with their job (Foster 54). During the World War I, pit bulls were asked to warn soldiers of gas attacks, found wounded men and even listened and warned soldiers of artillery rounds. Even in movies and advertisements, pit bulls were also famous in the campaigns of Levis, Buster Brown Shoes and even Wells Fargo. And even during the World War II. President Theodore Roosevelt kept a pit bull. During the World Trade Center incident of 9/11, pit bulls were asked to look for survivors.

His father gave him a pony for his 10th birthday and he named it Flying Hawk. (Garst, 14) Once, he went to a battle on his pony, and he hit the opposing Indian tribe leader with his coup stick (a coup stick is a stick that Native Americans use in battles). He knocked the gun out of his hands and the Hunkapapas won the battle and he was the hero. That’s when he was given the name Sitting Bull. (Black, 14) Other say he got his name by jumping on the back of a buffalo and getting it to sit down. (Garst, 14)
This criminal behavior psychological analysis paper is taking a look into the life of a serial killer, who is known as, John Wayne Gacy, Jr. He is best known for dressing up as a clown and committing violent killings of specific targets; the nickname he is known for is the “Killer Clown”. Moreover, Gacy is an important individual to study or analyze due to the many merciless anguish murders he committed and the factors that took place throughout his childhood to adulthood, which may have had influential elements of the actions he performed on his poor and vulnerable victims. Understanding Gacy’s actions and mindset can be quite complex to society as well as how he became one of the most prolific and notorious murders in the United States. The importance I find to be relevant, which played a major role in John Wayne Gacy’s numerous murders in Chicago, Illinois, are the social dysfunctional structures followed as: his father-son relationship, being antisocial in school, and environment. Future professionals in criminology can better understand and go into depth about the psychological theories found in most murderers in correlation to Gacy’s horrendous proceedings as some theorists have already been revealing theories of their own that relate to how Gacy grew up to be a murderer. For example, “Theorists consider moral behavior to be self-regulated through mechanisms of self-evaluation where one can approve or disapprove irresponsible or inhumane behavior. It is clear that Gacy showed a lack of moral behavior and hence, in the act was not able to disapprove his behavior adequately to avoid it completely” (“John Wayne Gacy Jr. | Criminology”, n.d.). The professionals can grasp the insight that there is value perhaps in keeping this...
Rodeo is a sport with long American traditions and loved by many spectators and participants. Past history has shown that rodeo needed to make way for a new era of riders and trainers with a larger emphasis on the welfare of the animals and not be discontinued or banned entirely. Today’s rodeos do not present a danger to the animals because the animals are well-cared for and protected, rodeos have strict rules and the stock are treated as prized animals.
Everything about going to this rodeo was fantastic: the food, the fun, most of all, the rodeo grounds. The place that I fit in was in the stands of the arena. Sitting there for four days got a little old, and, going on the fifth day, I was a little tired. Nevertheless, tired or not, this was what I had been looking forward to--the Short Go. This is the round in a rodeo when the top 15 from each event compete for the title of State Champion.
Bull riding is the most dangerous sport. More of its competitors are injured or fatally wounded more than any other sport in the world. Also it has been found that age is not necessarily an issue regarding incidents. It has been found that the experienced rider is just as likely to have an incident as the least experienced rider. This is because the more experienced ones will tend to ride stronger and more dangerous bulls, sometimes underestimating their power (Dart). But there are other options available to enhance safety at these competitions. Vests and helmets are available to help minimize possible blunt forces to the chest and head areas respectively. They are both required for riders 18 and younger. Gloves and rosin are also available to help protect the cowboy’s hand and better grip the bull rope. Chaps, made to be worn over the legs, also can add some additional skin protection. Boots and spurs also help. The boots are to protect the lower legs and ankles, while the spurs can be used to stay in position on the bull. The use of sharp spurs is rarely allowed since it pierces the bulls skill, although allowing the cowboy to better hold onto the bull
The trend of Skateboarding began in 1950’s because surfers got the idea of surfing the streets. Its popularity continues to grow because as skateboarding start to grow it started to grow throughout the country. The first skateboarders started with wooden boards with roller skates wheels attached to the bottom. During the early years lots of people got hurt. Skateboarding was at its highest point in 1936 and companies starting hosting competitions back than they did “freestyle” skating witch is not like what skateboarding looks like now freestyle was more of dancing ballet with a skateboard. If there is one way to bring a smile to someone’s face, it is laughter. Funny jokes, comical stunts, sarcasm- Every person is different when it comes to what makes them laugh. Some find dry humor comical. Others think sarcasm or joke-filled ranting are the best. ‘Comedy’ is such a broad term, broad enough to allow everyone to find something they find comical. In fact, ‘comedy’ includes a specific type of drama, one where the protagonist is joyful and happy endings are expected. Comedy is like a drug; it allows you to escape reality. When we say the word ‘comedy’ in the present, we are generally referring to a type of performance which provides humor. However, in its broadest sense, comedy has only one purpose: comedy makes people smile and
