Culture revolve all around today’s society threw radio, television, and other media, mainly movies. Through the movie industry it changes and changes society every day to how people began in that type of culture. Since 1976s the film Rocky has been having a big impact on today’s society and culture. . In the movie, as in the world beyond it, Rocky is part of the cultural tapestry. Everyone in Philadelphia knows him. Rocky Balboa is a symbol of success, through tough times, for the city of Philadelphia. Coming 39 years after the original film starring Sylvester Stallone, the movie “Creed” certainly has its share of training montages and struggles against adversity, as well as an endearing romance between a young fighter and a woman from the neighborhood. What makes creed so interesting is the way it pays homage to the original 1976 movie and even borrowing most of its structure but using new characters and themes making a movie that’s both familiar and brand new. Adonis is the forgotten son of a superstar whose mother died at a young age. The film introduces him as a kid brawling with other boys in juvie before he’s taken in by Apollo’s widow. Same as Rocky, Creed is still a movie about an underdog boxer in Philadelphia being trained by an old guy for once in a life time for a shot title, but propelled by ideas of legacy father and sons, race and class that weren’t a part of the original. he seeks out Rocky, a fighter forever tied to Apollo Creed. Despite the fact Donnie immediately takes to calling him “Unc” (for Uncle), symbolically Rocky becomes a father figure. Apollo may not have been present for Donnie’s life, but Donnie will be present for his surrogate father’s brush with death.
