It really can be considered terribly tacky to give your boss a gift and make you appear like the office suck up. Still there may be the odd occasion when a gift would be appropriate, particularly if you are having an office romance with the boss.
Other good reasons to give a gift really involve a touch of bribery, such as just before you are being considered for promotion; when you need some extra time off and wish to soften the boss up; or when you realize you have just committed some ghastly work related mistake and don’t want to be shouted at or fired.
Your boss will not be expecting a gift so will probably view one with great suspicion and presume you have ulterior motives, which you probably do. It is never a good idea to spend a lot of money on a gift for your boss

Rockefeller fall into that category or was he one of the "captains of industry", whose shrewd and innovative leadership brought order out of industrial chaos and generated great fortunes that enriched the public welfare through the workings of various philanthropic agencies that these leaders established? In the early 1860s Rockefeller was the founder of the Standard Oil Company, who came to epitomize both the success and excess of corporate capitalism. Tom Robinson: Innocent or Guilty? In my opinion, an innocent man shouldn't be ordered to even step into an unfair court case. In the novel, To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, Jem and Scout go through countless conflicts, including the trial of Tom Robinson and the rape of Mayella Ewell. Throughout the story, people considered Tom Robinson a mockingbird, an innocent man, and even an enemy. In chapter ten, Atticus tells Jem and Scout that it’s a sin to kill a mockingbird since they only compose music for people to appreciate.
Robert Lee Yates seemed to be an ordinary man. He had five children, had served for many years in both the U.S. Army and Washington Air National Guard. During this time he accumulated numerous military awards. He was described by his comrades as “a true professional who was very proficient in his job.” (King). On the outside he appeared to be an average guy who had a family and worked hard. However, Yates was not what he appeared to be on the surface. He was a rapist and a killer, who was charged with the murder of thirteen women, and the attempted murder of a fourteenth woman in Spokane, Washington. Though the attempted bugging of Watergate was not a popular story at first, it quickly escalated and gained attention by raising questions of presidential involvement.
Whether he ran a failed Orange-Juice business, or lost his high school election for student body president (history.com), Richard Nixon was a good leader, man, husband, and father. For nearly half a century J. Edgar Hoover was one of the most powerful officials in the Federal government of the United States. As head of the Federal Bureau of Investigation from 1924 until his death in 1972, he was the nation’s chief law enforcement officer. His intimate knowledge of politicians and government operations made him a man to be feared by elected officials, and none of the eight presidents under whom he served dared fire him. J.Edgar Hoover was born on January 1, 1895, in Washington D.C. He attended George Washington University and earned a degree in 1917. In 1919 he became assistant to Attorney General A. Mitchell Palmer in the Department of Justice. It was Palmer who instigated the post World War I "red scare," an anti-Communist hysteria that led to the deportation of many aliens. Hoover was put in charge of the deportations. When Hoover became director of the Bureau in 1924, he quickly formed an elite force of powerful law enforcement officers. He enhanced the FBI’s fame by capturing many gangsters, bank robbers, and other lawbreakers. After World War II he waged a relentless fight against internal subversion. The 1970’s often criticized Hoover for his authoritarian methods. He died in Washington, D.C., on May 2, 1972. In the rest of the paper I will explain more in depth of how J. Edgar Hoover rose to power and why he is considered one of the most corrupt men to ever hold a government position. It is not very difficult to figure out the most outstanding characteristic of J. Edgar Hoover is the most famous law enforcement officer that the United States has ever known. J. Edgar Hoover began his adult life at the bottom of the ladder with a very limited amount of power. As he grew older and became more experienced his prestige and power skyrocketed. At the height of his prestige and power he was the most famous director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation in the history of the United States. One factor that helped J. Edgar Hoover gain more power, was that he had many connections with many important people (Summers 29). Another factor that aided J. Donald Shepard Hewitt (Don Hewitt) was born on December 14, 1922 to his Jewish parents, Ely S. Hewitt and Frieda Pike Hewitt. Hewitt was raised in suburban New Rochelle, New York where he attended New Rochelle High School. He went on to attend to New York University on a track scholarship, however, he quit school in the fall of 1941 and got a job earning fifteen dollars a week. In 1942, Hewitt enlisted in the merchant marine and was assigned to the North Atlantic While in the merchant marines, he wrote for the army newspaper “Stars and Stripes.” After World War II was over he became the night editor of the Associated Press bureau in Memphis, Tennessee; where he met his first wife who he had 2 children with. Hewitt moved to New York with his family in 1946. He got a new job in New York as an editor for “Pelham Sun,” Westchester County’s newspaper.
