Sometimes in life distractions can get in the way of many things. In books, this occurs to many characters and from these distractions and decisions, characters can be analyzed to see how they will act and what type of person they are. After reading The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway an evaluation of robert cohn can be done. Cohn can be analyzed in many ways including key decisions, his appearance, and many other factors. Conflicts in life can determine whether a person is good or bad. There are many conflicts that have happened in Robert Cohn's life. Some of the conflicts in the life of Robert Cohn is that nobody really remembers him, and he gets in a lot of fights. For example in the text on page 11 it says, “I never met anyone in his class who remembered him. They did not even remember that he was middleweight boxing champion.”. This shows that nobody can remember him even though he was really good at boxing. This also shows that he could get into a lot of fights because he knew how to box, and he was very good at it. So far, Robert Cohn seems like he was a very shy and unpopular person. Notable moments and

One of his strengths is actually how fit he is and his knowledge of certain things. Some of his weaknesses are his anger issues. When he was not able to fall in love with Brett he took it out on Romero and seriously hurt him before his bullfight which luckily did not affect him during the fight. With all of the analyzing that has been done it is easy to come up with a prediction for the future. On page 206 when it is talking about the fight between Cohn and Romero it says that, “He’d kill him anyway this morning if Cohn wasn't out of town.”. What this is showing for the future is that Cohn is going to stay away from everybody and he will go off on his own and he will never talk to Jake or anyone in the group

Rhetoric in the article by William Covino and David Jolliffe is explained as an art of persuasion that uses communication with a purpose or goal. To add, it is an ongoing conversation between the rhetor and the auditors. In addition to using persuasion, the observance of the audience is used as well. Experience is the hidden inspiration in all of literature. Every letter, word, and sentence formed, every plot imagined, and every conflict conceived has a trace amount of its creator’s past ingrained within it. But most of all, authors reflect themselves in the characters they create. The protagonist of any story embodies certain traits and qualities of his or her creator; the virtues and vices, ambitions and failures, strengths and weaknesses of an author are integral parts of their characters lives. When authors’ experiences differ, so do their characters, as seen with Welty and King. Both authors had distinct upbringings, each with their own forms of hardship. The contrasting nature of these authors’ struggles is why their characters are the antithetical. As a result of these

The pivotal character of Ernest Hemingway's novel, The Sun Also Rises is Jake Barnes. He is a man of complex personality--compelling, powerful, restrained, bitter, pathetic, extraordinarily ordinary yet totally human. His character swings from one end of the psychological spectrum to the other end. He has complex personality, a World War I veteran turned writer, living in Paris. To the world, he is the epitome of self-control but breaks down easily when alone, plagued by self-doubt and fears of inadequacy. He is at home in the company of friends in the society where he belongs, but he sees himself as someone from the outside looking in. He is not alone, yet he is lonely. He strikes people as confident, ambitious, careful, practical, quiet and straightforward. In reality, he is full of self-doubt, afraid and vulnerable.

Fitzzgerald takes a rejection from his life and uses that idea to expand off from to write a social commentary on the corruption of the American Dream by the old-rich of the Eastern United States. Hemingway takes actual events from his life and used that as a basis for the plot of his novel. This enhanced the theme by describing the effect of World War I on Hemingway's generation.
When analyzing literature, it is essential to understand the material from all the perspectives in order to get the intended information. There are several methods and techniques such as the critical analysis of the material and reading analytical reviews on the content. In addition, Mallon and Kirsch argue that there exists a relationship between authors and their writings and therefore, an understanding of the authors’ background can influence the perspective, views and opinion of the readers (1). In the same way, authors can use their writings to influence their personal life and the world they live in. By examining the life of the author JK Rowling and her famous Harry Potter books, this paper explores the influence of her personal life
