What did you learn in the first five weeks of the course that surprised you and changed the way you think about nursing research and EBP?
How to explore the different ways of differentiating evidence-based nursing practice and the usefulness of the process for providing the practices in the framework of evidence-based practice and nursing research studies. The most surprising information in this first five weeks is learning how to assess the theoretical- abstract components, designs in quantitative research, various methods for data collection in quantitative studies, PICO of nursing research studies and its meaning: patient, intervention, comparison and outcome. nursing quantitative research paper, learning how to understand the new techniques of breaking the information apart, recognizing the required interventions and knowing where to find information, the connections of the topic’s, the hypotheses of the research, and the use of the meaning of keywords for researching such as, how journals, internet, textbook’s and the primary resources will provide certain resources. (Polit & Beck, 2014) What concepts are still a little muddy and need to be clarified? Things that still need to be clarified; quantitative, sampling, and data collection concepts need for research designs, such as using these, learning how to apply the characteristics use of designs in your research.
The pretest-posttest design, crossover design, placebo, quasi-experiments (lack randomization but involve intervention and is usually found to be more acceptable to a broader group of people who are not always willing to be randomized in clinical trials). The RCT study known as the “gold standard” (for interventional studies, controlled and randomized for comparing a controlled and interventional group variable) and The Cohort (prospective) design research (analysis or the observational design with cohort, it starts with a recognized cause and then goes forward to the recognized effect). The clarification of the outcomes of the statistical analysis in quantitative research, understanding the research practice and the identification of the basis of evidence-based practice contained by the sections of research and critiques of that research. By graining an understanding of these steps and knowing how to rethink research and revise my views of the research will aid in success of my practicing these tactics (Polit, & Beck,
2014) What has inspired you and piqued your interest for the second half of the course? My transformations in practicing these tactics, such as learning how to find the results, where to obtain the material, how to analyze the study of data content and by learning how to effectively find all the results. Graining this understanding of the steps and knowing how to rethink, to refine key words and to revise my views of research will aid in success of clinical patient care. (Polit, & Beck, 2014) Piqued my interest or curiosity; Understanding the source of the researcher’s inspiration is the process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something, especially to do something creative: (Webster-Merriam, 2016). All clinical problem-solving process and its creativeness comes from precise material, seeking significant symbols to confirm or disprove working conclusions of investigations. The essentials of Nursing research states: those crucial steps: “ask, search, collect evidence, evaluating, manufacturing evidence, incorporating patients’ needs and assessing the success of the decisions”. (Polit, & Beck, 2014)

The Board received a complaint on 04/02/2014 regarding patient Gloria Kinder from Dena Andrews who has a POA for health care matters on the patient. The complaint was regarding Dr. Negron taking over care of the patient after her primary care doctor retired. The complainant states that the doctor would not refill her potassium, did not do follow up labs, and would not care for the patient.

Harmony Elementary school is a grade PK-5 public school located in Middletown, New Jersey. However, the pre-k is only for children with disabilities. The kindergarten program is a full day program. Every school is different with their kindergarten program. Village Elementary school, located in Holmdel, New Jersey has A.M. and P.M. Kindergarten sessions. The full day sessions could be a positive for parents who work full time, so they do not need to worry about a babysitter. On the other hand, some parents could feel that their child could not sit and learn in a full day environment in kindergarten.
The helper helps the clients to explore and choose possibilities for a better future. In stage II, the key problem of deciding what type of key opportunities in asking the question what the future might be on manageability. The helper asks the client what do you want the future to look like? In thinking about a better future are often leads to finding ways to make the future a reality. The first relates to those that need help in managing specific problems. The principles for helping the client work on an issue is to find out if this a crisis. The purpose of this paper is to analyze a concept on order to identify an inconsistency and area for practical research. A clinical experience will be used to illustrate a core curriculum concept. Consistency with our text will be explored. Next inconsistencies will be identified to provide the basis for a relevant research question in PICO format. The process of conducting research using the hierarchy of evidence will be discussed. A summary of research findings will be provided and used to support modifications in future nursing practice.
In the article, Promoting Evidence-Based Practice Through A Research Training Program For Point Of Care Clinicians, the authors state that evidence based practice is, “a problem-solving approach to clinical care that incorporates the conscious use of current best practice from well-designed studies, clinician’s expertise, and patient values and preferences” (Black, Balneaves, Garossino, Puyat, Qian, 2015, p.14). The nursing student should use evidence-based practice in order to make decisions about the patient's care plan. Using evidence-based practice while deciding how to appropriately care for a patient will ensure that the nursing student is using the most effective and current techniques. Randomized Controlled Trials can be used to in several types of evaluations, including new therapies (i.e. Cognitive behavioral therapy versus emotionally focused therapy when treating couples), community interventions, and diagnostic techniques (O'Brien, 2013). The RCT study design randomly assigns participants into an experimental group or a control group. As the study is conducted, the only expected difference between the control and experimental groups is the outcome variable being studied (O'Brien, 2013).

Clinical trial is biomedical or health related research studies in human being that follow a pre-defined protocol. Research is an activity designed to test a hypothesis that helps in concluding and developing knowledge. It is a protocol that has an objectives and procedures to reach those objectives (1). There are two types of clinical studies. One is interventional studies in which the research subjects are assigned by the investigator to a treatment or other intervention, and their outcomes are measured. Second is an observational study in which individuals are observed and their outcomes are measured by the investigators.
Reflecting back, this program has enriched my professional career, knowledge, and perspective of nursing in various ways. I believe I have developed advanced critical thinking and analytical skills, high EI based on learned knowledge, flexibility to accept change, and rational reasoning/knowledge to understand EBP and nursing research. The program offered me more than I had expected, in terms of knowledge, evaluation, analysis, synthesis, competency, and creativity. Each course and its innovative learning style (e.g., voice thread, youseeu, journal club, etc.) challenged, empowered, and motivated me to perform better, aim higher, and excel. Upon graduation, I intend to take a minimum six month break to enjoy quality family time and social life before embarking on a master
