Rizzo Island is right in the Gulf of Maine, where the capital city of Megatropolis is located at 43°"N -68°”W. It is in the North-Western hemisphere, on the East side of the Atlantic Ocean. It is considered a part of North America and is South of Maine, and West of Nova Scotia. People here have no specific religion, and mostly speak French and English. The flag is rectangular with a giant lobster on it. The reason for this is because lobster is the main money source for Rizzo Island. Rizzo Island is a giant R shape, with large mountains on the north shore and streams branching out of the 5543 acre Cody lake. Throughout the year the average temperature is 55 F, with an average rainfall of 40 inches. In the winter the average snowfall is 75
inches inland and 110 inches in the mountains. On the island there are moose, deer, black bear, turkey, coyotes, partridge, ducks, and geese. For fish in Cody lake, there are lake trout, brook trout, brown trout, landlocked salmon, and smallmouth bass. There all the plants that you can find in Maine, same with the insects. There are three major man-made feature on the island. They are Moose-look Ski Resort located in Moose-look; the twin sky scrappers that are located on each of the two peninsulas located in Megatropolis; and the giant port located in Megatropolis that imports boats from The Finch Isles and diamonds from Dala. And it exports lumber from the north and lobster that is caught around the island and Mercedes Benz that are made in Megatropolis. People mostly use the land for the three man-made attractions and to harvest what we export. In the winter people have to layer up there clothes because of the harsh temperature. During the summer people take out their SL Roadsters and rip around the island. But people have changed the environment by clear cutting trees for lumber and air pollution because of all the industries that make Mercedes Benz. Most of the people live around Megatropolis that is in the bay and Moose-look that is up north in the mountains. The main methods of transportation are the boats that we import from The Finch Isles, and the cars that we make in Megitropolis. People would move to the country because of the jobs in the factory, world-class winter sports, and no speed limits around the island.
The island is about 4 square miles and is today a place for tourism in the great lakes. Many thousands of years ago though this was a little piece of land with bluffs reaching high above its surroundings and was a merely a small piece of land surrounded by water. It was because of these bluffs the appearance of the island resembled a turtle and led to it being named “The Great Turtle” (Piljac, 1998). Currently the island reaches several hundred feet above the lake and it’s because of this geography that many nations saw this as a perfect military post and would be used over and over again throughout its history as such.
It is a long-with-standing stereotype that Italians love to gamble. This is true. My great grandfather, Pasquale Giovannone, played the riskiest hand of cards when he immigrated to the United States as an illegal stowaway at the age of thirteen. He forged a life for himself amidst the ever-changing social and political shifts of the early nineteenth century. The legacy he left would later lead to the birth of my father, John Giovannone, in Northern New Jersey in 1962.
“The best way to predict your future is to create it” (Lincoln). President states the principal of Reconstruction, where to unite the United States, there must be an authoritative action to carry it out. The Reconstruction Era (1863-1877) is a period where Lincoln sought to restore the divided nation by uniting the confederates and the union and to involve the freedmen into the American society. The main objectives were to initially restore the union, to rebuild the South and to enact progressive legislation for the rights of the freed slaves. Thus, the executive and legislature branches had enacted a series of polices to “create the future” for the United States. Although the policies tied down to the Reconstructive motive, there was controversy
Tiberius Sempronius Gracchus was born in approximately 163 B.C.E to Tiberius Gracchus the Elder and Cornelia Africana. Gaius Gracchus, his younger brother, was born in 154 B.C.E. In the 2nd century B.C., the two brothers formed “The Gracchi”. The two, born plebeians, belonged to one of the most influential families in Rome, the Sempronia. Their father was the tribune of the plebs, the praetor, consul and censor. Fatherless from a young age, they were taught democratic views by tutors. As they grew older and gained influence, their goal became to restructure Rome in a way that benefited the underprivileged and unfortunate. At the time, their help was especially welcome as members of the Populare, a political group whose purpose was to serve the people, rather than the aristocracy (like the Optimates). The ideals of the Gracchi leaned towards what people today would call populism or socialism; in fact, they are almost reverently called “the founding fathers” (Fife 1) of the aforementioned political parties. The brothers were perhaps so interested in restoring the rights of the people because of the dichotomy of their plebeian births within a noble line.
Throughout North America there are many different archeological sites, many formed at different time periods by different tribes, though there is one that stands out among the rest of the sites, Cahokia. Cahokia stands out for many different unique reasons, one of which being that it happens to be the largest archeological site that is north of central Mexico. There are many other unique features about this site that help it stand out in addition to its size.
Irrigation has been a significant part of Yuma County’s history, as it has affected the county and areas around it in several ways, and has been affected itself by Yuma’s ways to evolve to a more relevant and helpful operation. It has changed Yuma from a small farming community to an agriculturally efficient town. Technology has also had a hand in moving irrigation in Yuma forward, including beginning the Yuma Project which affected different groups of people over time. Irrigational development also benefited geographically from Yuma, creating more fitting irrigation systems. Ultimately, the development of irrigation was affected by the attributes of Yuma, and in turn affected Yuma County and southern Arizona itself by providing technological
Sir Walter Raleigh was an english explorer, writer, and poet of the 16th century. In 1584, Queen Elizabeth allowed Raleigh to colonize any unknown land in the New World. He set out and eventually colonised Roanoke Island. Unfortunately, Raleigh was sent back for supplies for 3 years. When he got back, he found the colony in ruins and the word “Croatoan” carved onto one of the tree trunks.
Yuma is a town in Southwest Arizona on the border of the California and Mexico. Going right through Yuma county is a large river called the Colorado River. With that water, farmers in Yuma and surrounding towns were starting to start farms and had irrigation. The thing was that the river was inconsistent and the farmers had problems with floods and droughts. This is how irrigation changed the complexion of Yuma and the Agricultural business.
Oak Island is a small island located off the coast of Nova Scotia, Canada. This island holds a big mystery. According to expert Joe Nickell, Oak Island has been called ¨ the world's longest and most expensive treasure hunt.¨ It is also one of the world's deepest archeological digs. There are a lot of events that have happened on the island that have led up to what we know today. Six people have already died looking for the treasure, but the legend says seven must die before the treasure can be found. Since more is being found on the island than ever before, many people think the risk is worth the reward.

Calico was first born as an island. The man, Prince of Arabia at the time was on a vacation and while sailing around, discovered the island. He had not an inkling of its large size, beauty and the resources that it had to offer. The prince set up a camp there for a day, and wrote down everything about the island.
Thousands of people died in the hands of the Nazis in many camps they had. Only one comes to my mind the Treblinka Concentration Camp. The Treblinka camp was a secret weapon for the Germans to get rid of the Jews and Gypsies. There were two camps to Treblinka that was used to kill the innocent people. Walking in the footsteps of the innocent people to explore the camps. The revolt that brought an end to Treblinka Concentration Camp.
For centuries the meaning behind leisure has inmensably changed and what was done during the free time changed as well with the new creations and the help of renovating technology. During the 1950s free time was a luxury that would be spent with family or if the person was of high class it would be spend drinking tea and gossiping with their friends. If lower class people spent their luxurious time drinking tea and gossiping they were considered Free time went from being a luxury to current time where leisure is for the public and not just a group or status. More often than not though in the 2000s people are too consumed into their jobs to take time and enjoy the public activities that are given and sometimes it is taken for granted when past centuries would have appreciated them. As time has passed the Coney Island became a part of history were it contains a documented experience of all its workers and their contributions to Coney Island.
Rugged mountains, coastal lowlands and some plains define the Italian terrain. Italy, which has 7,600 kilometers of coastline, is a peninsula since the country juts into the Mediterranean Sea. It is located south of Austria and Switzerland, and borders France and Slovenia. The capital of Italy, Rome, is located almost at the geographic middle of the country, on the Western coast.
Let’s begin with the location of Barbados. Barbados is an Island of a cluster of Caribbean Islands. Its location is on the boundary of the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, in a somewhat strange location, if you may. The Island is 166 square miles and is located 13 degrees North, 59 degrees West, leaving it at around 270 miles north-east of Venezuela. Closest to the Island are the nations Saint Lucia and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Barbados is generally a flat island, with a central highland; the highest point being Mount Hillaby which stands at 336 meters tall. Barbados is also known as “Little England” by the British. Barbados was named by Pedro A. Campos, a Portuguese explorer, who originally named the Island “Os Barbados’ (The Bearded Ones) because he believed that the islands fig trees looked like beards due to their drooping aerial roots. The capital of Barbados is Bridgetown.
