Islam was a religion introduced in 570 when Muhammad was born. Islam became fairly popular in its time as Hims weren't hesitant to convert to Islam. Much of Islam's success as a new religion came from them establishing a very just society as well as the Muslims always strategically conquering new land.
Muslims were quick to establish a fair society which non Muslims wanted to come into. They created very fair rules and punishments for breaking those rules. Muslims were also non-hesitant to try and conquer other lands. Between the years 622 CE and 750 CE alone the Muslims were able to conquer key cities such as Mecca, Jerusalem, Cairo, Baghdad and Saragossa. (DOC C) The Muslims were always launching raids on Non-Muslim communities. (DOC D) These raids kept the ummah united as they worked together to conquer and convert non-Muslims. (DOC D) Muslims attacked other places when they were weak which made their conquest a lot easier. (DOC D) The job of the Caliph for the 300 years after Muhammad died was to protect Islam land so the Muslims could feel safe and live their lives. (DOC E) Sometimes when the Muslims attacked other empires the people they were trying to conquer would help the Muslims conquer their own empire. (DOC F) The people who left their empire to join the Muslims were happy to leave their empire where they felt there was no justice.
Islam is a very large and influential religion, it all originated from one man named Muhammad spreading his beliefs to the people of Mecca, and now it has become the second largest religion in the world. How did this come to be? How did a religion that started with one man spread so quickly? methods , purposeful or not, were used. There are a few methods that appeared to be most effective, and those methods can be classified under two categories. Islam expanded from forceful ways such as government laws and military conquest, and from peaceful ways like the religion being a reasonable jump for other religions and Islam being an easily acceptable religion.
The Muslim Empire began to expand vastly under the Umayyads, with the empire becoming so large many people were converting to Islam religion. The Umayyads were the second of the four major caliphates after the death of Muhammad. The Empire used many different ways to spread the Islamic civilization consisting of war, classes, and appeal. The Islamic civilization spread so strongly because of the way it allured the common man.

Especially, because ancient empires thought that the land was worthless but they didn’t know that it had great trade routes. Trade brought them in connection with other civilizations and that’s how the city of Mecca, located in Saudi Arabia became known. He became known as “the Prophet,” he was meant to be God’s final prophet. The main two groups of Islam are the Shia and Sunni; which they were created after Muhammad’s death. The Islam religion as
law, whose descendants were seen by the Shiites as the appropriate leaders. However, after Ali became the fourth caliph, he was assassinated.
The town of Mecca was the birthplace of Islam, at first the leaders of the city refused the changing of this new religion and forced Muhammad to leave. The religion itself was appealing to, in addition to the inhabitants of Arabia, other people in the surrounding areas because of its distinct religious beliefs and practices, such as the five pillars, as well as the humility and prayerfulness of the Islamic people. They fought cruel, vicious wars with their enemies. Many different things motivated the warriors to expand, but above all, the riches they would gain from the people of the Fertile Crescent encouraged them to expand.
