In America every second social media, television, and magazine articles display young women promoting swim suit advertisements, alluring lingerie, and even their bare bodies on screen. Most recently popular recording artist Rihanna was eulogized by many people for wearing her sparkly sheer fishnet dress that displayed her breast and nipples. Rihanna is not the only women displaying her body to America and receiving positive feedback. In addition, well known pop culture celebrity Kim Kardashian- West broke the internet with her photo shoot with “Paper Magazine” last year. there are also women who display their breast as well, but for a different purpose. These women are mothers with new born babies. Instead of being adored and idolized by people, they are constantly being told that they are disgusting. Some people even approach these mothers and advise them that they are being culturally inappropriate. These new mothers are embarrassed and even uncomfortable to breast feed in public due to the negative views society has on breast feeding. The question is why is it not considered culturally appropriate to breast feed a baby in public, but wearing provocative clothing, or no clothing at all is deemed appropriate in the public’s eye? Therefore, I shall argue that breast feeding should be culturally accepted in public, because it is healthier than baby formula, more convenient for a twenty first century mother, and is a natural process of feeding a child and should not be considered sexually explicit due to the fact that women’s body parts are displayed continuously throughout mainstream …show more content…
Those who oppose breast feeding in public may not be aware of the time it takes to prepare a baby bottle. First you have to make sure that the milk is at a temperature that is right for the baby. Next, if you are a busy mom on the go, you have to transport this bottle of milk and find a way to keep it at constant temperature. Then, the mother has to make sure that this bottle does not leak or becomes damaged during the transportation. Lastly, most new born babies are not very fond of baby bottles, some babies even refuse to drink out of the baby bottles altogether. These are one of the many problems that mothers face when they encounter the issue of whether or not they should breast feed while on the go, or transport baby formula. New mothers should not have to have to go through the timely process of making a baby bottle. Instead the mother could breast feed her child wherever she is, without worrying about transportation or temperature

Well firstly you can breastfeed anywhere you are and the milk is always at the right temperature unlike formula milk. In which you have to measure the amount of milk powder and water and heat it up at a certain temperature, at that makes it hard to handle especially if you’re out in a public place away from the heating device. Now the cons of breastfeeding is that the mother can only feed the baby unlike bottle feeding in which anyone can feed the baby. If the mother is absent and has to go somewhere she must pump milk and leave it prepared so whoever is taking care of the baby is able to simply heat the milk and feed the baby. Now the cons of milk formula, if you bottle feed your child you will always have to carry around with you the bottle and the formula milk and water and be mixing it, after that you will have to heat it wherever you can. You can imagine it as your super kit! In which you carry the size of the bottle that is well suited for your child’s needs. One of the main pros in bottle feeding is that mothers are able to go to work and not worry about their child not accepting the formula. Since most women work, breastfeeding is not an option for them and that is why bottle feeding is ideal for a working

Very few experts disagree with the fact that breastfeeding is the optimal choice for the infant. However, decreasing breastfeeding rates raise many questions as to why mothers are not choosing the best nutritional choice for their children. Despite breast milk being the obvious choice for infant feeding due to the health, psychological, and economic benefits, many mothers still decide to feed their infants formula due to lack of knowledge and support, difficulties with breastfeeding, and social embarrassment. Changes need to be made with formula companies, medical professionals, and the public opinion of breastfeeding in order to give nursing mothers the support they deserve.
Breastfeeding is the perfect start to a healthy lifestyle for the baby as well as the mother. There has been a numerous amount of issues regarding breastfeeding in general. Everyone has been so focused on whether or not mothers should be allowed to breastfeed in public, however there is a much bigger issue than that, in which people are not as focused on. Working mothers should be granted breaks at work when they need to pump or breastfeed their children. It seems as if the public is not interested in this debate because it does not affect them or their family, but they are completely against mothers breastfeeding in public.
Whitney Houston to most was a very amazing and talented person who allowed life and its mishaps break her down. As a young girl she grew up in the church where she felt like it was a sign from God that she should be singing. Freud believes that religion is an illusion, an attempt to gain control over the external world. In his eyes saying that anything is a sign from God depends on how you vision life. There were times in her life where she would produce more music just to get thru the thing that she would be going through. She would use her music as a defense mechanism to get away from all of the abuse, problems with her marriage, neglect, and drugs. Defense mechanisms are ways to distort reality to reduce anxiety: Rationalization is giving a positive reason to a stressor and regression is withdrawing from reality and going to pastime.
There is no need to run out to the store to buy formula, bottles, or burp cloths. Breastfed babies do not spit up as often because breast milk is easier on the belly and the baby will not ingest the air that a bottle fed baby does. That means fewer outfit changes and less laundry. Although feeding in public may be easier for a formula fed baby, a lot of awesome things to make breastfeeding in public easier and more discreet have been created. There are nursing tank tops so that mom's belly stays covered and nursing cover ups which are light weight blankets that moms can wear to keep themselves covered while still being able to see baby. Most public places are beginning to put nursing stations in as well. Also, there is no need to mess with fumbling around in the kitchen to prepare a bottle at 3 AM for a crying baby that is hungry. Breast milk is always available and warm. The American Pregnancy Association recommends breastfeeding for most families in the article “Breastfeeding vs. Bottle Feeding” (2017, May 16). -www.americanpregnancy.org

Procreation is basic to life and reality. Originally, mothers never had a choice of whether to breastfeed their infants or not. Mothers breastfed their infants. This gave moms the ability to care for and sustain their infants whenever nursing was needed. Advantages of breastfeeding are for the children, mothers, and the economy. Cultures differ from place to place because we live in a very diverse world. Indeed, a few cons to breastfeeding are generally sincere beliefs. One con about nursing in broad daylight is nursing can cause other individuals in the surrounding area to feel uncomfortable. Some think a woman showing cleavage during a nursing session can conjure up the same thoughts as a woman in a seductive outfit, while several assorted
Breastfeeding in public needs to become a regular thing; so it is not deemed unusual and made a big deal of. There is no valid reason as to why a woman should be denied the right to breastfeed her child in public.
Breastfeeding is a wonderful gift that has been given to women. It allows mothers to feed their babies whenever they need to be fed and is very beneficial for both mother and child. So why are many people opposed to mothers nursing in public? Many people argue that breastfeeding is indecent and inappropriate in public places, even if the mother covers herself. Others will claim that it makes them uncomfortable and creates awkward social interactions. However, breastfeeding is perfectly natural. A woman should be able to nurse her child whenever she pleases and not feel ashamed for it.

Breastfeeding rates are continually increasing. The nutritional benefit of breast over formula is a long established fact. “According to the latest numbers from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, breastfeeding rates improved nationwide in 2000-2008, and some of the greatest improvement was among black women. However, only about 59 percent of black mothers breastfed in 2008, compared to 80 percent of Hispanic mothers and about 75 percent of white mothers. For 2008 rates of breastfeeding at a baby’s first birthday, the number was about 23 percent overall but only 12.5 percent for black mothers. That low rate still marks a near doubling of rates among black mothers compared to the year 2000” (Currie, 2013).It is the recommended method of feeding an infant for at least the first six months of life. Breastfeeding has benefits to both mothers and their babies. The baby receives immunity to protect it from disease. Financially, breastfeeding can significantly reduce the burden of having a new child. Many mothers initiate breastfeeding in the hospital; however, the number of women who breastfeed until six months is very low (Guyer, Millward, & Berger, 2012). Breastfeeding is highly favored over bottle feeding. Yet, mothers still do not choose to continually breastfeed their infants. Do mothers who breastfeed during hospitalization have limitations or no desire to continue versus mothers who breastfeed for the recommended six months or longer at home?
