Being an environmental movement figure Carson puts lots of emotion into this excerpt, making her love and passion for nature know. Carson also put tons of scientific information in to her piece. Helping bring her point across even further, almost educating the audience about the damagers of climate change. A lot of people don’t know much about insecticides, especially people in the 1950’s, but in this piece Carson gives very detailed information educating you on the harmful effects of insecticides and other manmade chemicals that kill the environment.
