I chose to do my Speech Analysis Essay on Hillary Clinton’s Official Campaign Launch video. Hillary Clinton did a nice job of including a rhetorical methods. She was speaking in New York to her supporters. There was proprobaly more than 500 people in the audience, in Four Freedoms Park in Roosevelt Island, New York City, where the speech was held. The type of speech Hillary Clinton was conducting was a persuasive speech. One can automatically assume that by the type of audience she is speaking to, the wording she is using, the movement and cheer of the audience, and the overall hype and encouragement the audience is feeling. One example, is when she says, “Real and lasting prosperity must be built by all and shared by all” (Hillary Clinton). Immediately right after saying that, the audience cheer and clapped really loud. You can feel their excitement of change and hope for something better. Hillary Clinton is focusing throughout her speech about equality, prosperity, job creation, security, ending of special privilege for the few, preservation of civil liberties for all, and wider and standard of living. This is a great persuasive appeal to the audience because they do want that. They do want to be prosperous and have great jobs. “America can’t succeed unless you succeed”, this is why she is running for president and this is also, one of the main exact reasons for her persuasive speech to the audience. The audience can’t stop clapping and cheering for her after that statement. She is running to make the economy work for the successful and the struggling, the farmers, veterans, small business owners, and for everyone who has been knocked out.
