He had some retailing experience after his time in the war and he chose Bentonville for the hunting season and because his wife wanted to live in a small town. His ideas of not pocketing extra cash from manufacturers, but rather giving deals to customers and trying to make profit off of how much he sold, changed the way retailers make money in America. The date was Friday November 23, 2012. That day wasn’t like any other day, it was Black Friday. Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving where crowds of people are drawn to special offers by retailers. Wal-Mart is the typical place for most people to go to to attain such items during Black Friday. I was one of those people. The item I was going for was a PlayStation3, a videogame console. The console itself was nothing too special other than it being half price of what it was 6 years ago which was $600 and having 12.5x more hard drive storage but not only was the price intriguing but also it being my first ever console made me want it more.
