Out of all the Explorers in History there is one that stands out . His name is Vasco Da Gama. He was known for making a Maritime Route from Europe to India. Vasco Da Gama was born into a Noble family in 1469 in Sines, Portugal Europe. He had four brothers and one sister . Each by the name of Paulo Da Gama , Pedro Da Gama, João Da Gama, Aires Da Gama, and Teresa Da Gama. His parents were Estêvão Da Gama, and Isabel Sodre’. In 1497, Vasco Da Gama was sent on a Expedition to India from Europe to find a Maritime Route to India . Vasco Da Gama was the first person to sail all the way from Europe to India, to Lisbona, down the Coast of Africa. By a boat he Discovered 24,000 miles on his way to India.Out of all of the 170 original crew members only 54 made it home alive.

Every place along the Route in the Second Voyage Vasco Da Gama would force the Rulers to trade with him . A couple of the Rulers said no.

Soon after Vasco Da Gama returned from his Second Voyage he retired from doing Expeditions and Immediately became King Manuels advisor . In 1524, the new King of Portugal John the Third told and persuaded Vasco Da Gama to return to India and become a Vice Roi.
