The Trinity is one of the most essential pillars in the Christian faith. It is the mystery of the unity and oneness of God in one of three persons. This unity is a crucial part of the foundation of the faith and cornerstone to those who believe. “The mystery of the Holy Trinity, who believe in the church was not if the result of the thought of a human is not the outcome of a religious or external philosophical effects of late, but it was based on the gospel of the apostles themselves they lived and passed themselves as an experience deified and life.”1 The idea of the Trinity is not something that has been made up by people of the faith, this is a concept that has been explained and shown throughout the disciples and the Holy Bible. Our church father, St. Augustine explains, “Let us believe that the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit is one God the Creator and Ruler of the whole creature, and the Father is not the Son, nor the Holy Spirit either the Father or the Son, but a trinity of persons mutually interrelated and a unity of an equal essence, and let us seek to understand this, praying for help form Himself, whom we wish to understand; and as much as He grants”.2 This shows that the Holy Trinity is of equal persons with not one with more priority or power over the other person.     One of the main principles of Christianity is the belief in both the divinity and humanity of Jesus, that these two natures are combined harmoniously in one being.     In the fifth discourse, the Son of God is described to further reflect himself about his unique and intimate eternal activity. First the author describes the production of the Holy Spirit. The author describes the Holy Spirit as being a person that proceeds from the Holy Trinity. The author also mentions two mysteries. The first mystery is described as having a divine person whom we adore, uniting two persons. And the second mystery is described as having a divine person whom we adore by uniting the two natures, one which is divine and the other being human. “He contemplates, adores and imitates the unity of the Holy Spirit, who is the third Person in the order of the Holy Trinity and who, by his nature, is the eternal bond between the two Persons from whom he proceeds.” (pg 135). All together the Son of God is our personal love and sacred unity. He is uniquely expressed and distinctly represented by “the states and qualities of this divine mystery, which is in a perfect relationship with what is ineffable in eternity, as well as being a living portrait of God” (135).

    Chapter four addresses the divisions within the Corinthian church, such as jealousy, quarrelling and their defective view of the church. The apostle Paul links their view of the church to church leadership stating “If they had a true view of the church, they would have a true view of the leaders of the church” (p79). The situation was that their view was lower for the church and higher for the leaders thus they were boasting about the leaders. Paul’s view was that the Corinthian church was spoon feed Christians not maturing as they should. Paul’s reference to addressing the church as worldly did not mean they were unregenerate because they did possess the Spirit but they were not being spiritual, not being controlled by the Holy Spirit. He goes on to say “They have experienced new birth by the Spirit but have remained babies in Christ; they have not yet become mature in Christ” (p80) The Apostle most likely would express the same opinion about many Church congregations today. Many churches are elated with their church growth, but it is often superficial. If the church does not offer a real growth opportunity the journey is short lived. The church fills up with Christians not participating in the sanctification process. As with many churches today the Corinthians had a self-serving attitude about themselves and their church. The Corinthians would have never behaved the way they did if they had a higher view of the church and what it stood for and a lesser view of the leaders.
