My Career Plan As Paulo Coelho puts it, “When you want something, the entire universe conspires in helping you to achieve it”. The moment I read this line in the book the Alchemist, I thought it did not make any sense. However, I later realize in that some way this quote actually makes sense because when I decide what I want it become clearer what I have to do to get it. Moreover, realizing I wanted to major in didn’t happen from one day another. However, the moment I made up my mind, I saw how many opportunities I had in front of me. My ultimate professional goal is to become a renowned forensic accountant. I still don’t have the details of where I want to work five years from now nor what specific role. First of all, attention to detail is an essential part of being an accountant. By nature, I am a curious individual, so I instead of assuming I ask questions. So when looking at detail, I don’t settle for what is obvious. Second of all, I am a dependable person. I don’t like quitting. Whenever I am doing a task, as difficult as it could be I would rather fail and know the reason of my failure than to quit and live with the uncertainty of not knowing if I could have done it. At last, I am very innovative. First of all, five years from now, I want to work in an entry level accounting position. My priority is to apply for an auditing position as is one the most useful areas for a forensic accountant. I know that auditors have a busy season and I really don’t mind that. The reason I don’t care is that I have been having year round “busy seasons” with reluctant three months’ vacation since I commenced my higher education. For instance, my regular schedule basically consists of departing from my home at 8:30 AM and returning by 11:00 PM. I get a little break on the weekends when I can leave my house after 12:00 PM or when I ignore my homework to run my errands.
