Alice Neel’s painting Suzanne Moss was created in 1962 using oil paint on canvas. As the title suggests, the painting depicts a woman’s portrait. Now resigning in the Chazen Museum in Madison, WI, this portrait of a woman lunging is notable for the emotional intensity it provokes as well as her expressionistic use of brush strokes and color. The scene is set by a woman, presumably Suzanne Moss, dressed in dull back and blues lounging across a seat, staring off to the side, avoiding eye contact with the viewer. The unique style and technique of portraiture captures the woman’s piercing gaze and alludes to the interior emotions of the subject. In Suzanne Moss, Alice Neel uses desultory brush strokes combined with contrast of warm and cool shadows

I think the main character from Staying Fat For Sarah Byrnes is Sarah Byrnes. I created a pic collage with a bunch of pictures that I think represent Sarah and her characteristics. In my pic collage two of the pictures I added were a picture of a pot of boiling water and a picture of a wood burning stove. I put a line connecting the two pictures because they have to do with each other and they are a big part of the book. Sarah Byrnes has burn scars all over her face and a lot of book is about her and her scars. Everyone thinks that her scars were caused by a pot of boiling water that she pulled off the stove and onto her, but her scars were actually caused by her father pushing her into the wood burning stove. I also added a picture of scars because that’s what mostly made Sarah’s life the way it is now.

To quite a few people, this may seem as a disadvantage, but to Marlee this is quite the opposite. She embraces her uniqueness and strives to show her disbelievers that she is capable of anything that she sets her mind to. Despite the many challenges she has faced, Marlee Matlin remains determined, unique, and an advocate for the Deaf culture.

What is it like to live a life with Narcissistic personality disorder (NPD)? Narcissism is a pervasive pattern of grandiosity, need for admiration, and lack of empathy. People with this disorder can be vindictive, selfish, cunning person. They do not care who is harmed or hurt. Abigail was the leader of all of the girls that were seen dancing and calling on evil spirits. Abigail would threaten the girls by saying if they said anything, she would kill or harm them severely. She wanted what she couldn’t have, so that made her psychologically unstable. Abigail William’s would be convicted in today’s court because she gave many threats to kill the girls who were with her the night they were dancing if they spoke up in court, her behavior caused harm to many even though she may not have physically done damage herself and due to previous court cases, some people diagnosed with Narcissism were found innocent due to their mental instability but others were guilty because they were mentally unstable. As it is shown, Narcissistic Personality Disorder causes her to be selfish, arrogant, dangerous, and obsess over the man she could not have, because Abigail threatened the girls she was with the night they were dancing, to not confess to anything in court.
The Grimke sisters were born into a wealthy, well established southern family in Charleston, South Carolina. Their father, John Grimke, was a plantation owner and well known judge who had previously been a lieutenant colonel in the Revolutionary War, as well as part of the South Carolina House of Representatives. Sarah and Angelina were two of fourteen children in the Grimke family. Sarah was born in 1792, making her the sixth child. She loved to learn and was well educated in the aspects of reading, writing, and simple mathematics. Although her education was full, and at a high capacity for a woman, she yearned for more. Sarah secretly borrowed her brother's history books and taught herself, hoping to one day go to college alongside her brothers. Having lived on a plantation her entire life, Sarah became well aware of the brutal treatment of slaves. At a young age, she witnessed many beatings and torture of the slaves. In a minor attempt to help, she secretly began to teach her maid to read so that she could read and learn t...
Sarah was the sixth child. Even at a young age she showed great independence and focused many of her efforts on justice. She was very intellectual and because of this, her father paid particular attention to her over the other children. Sarah was also very personable, empathetic and car...
She is known for her spoken word poetry and she is the found of Project V.O.I.C.E., a group dedicated to using spoken word as an educational and inspirinational tool. One of her most famous poems is ‘Hands’. The piece is about the importance of hands and all the gestures we make with their help. The main theme of her poem is love. She says that our hands were not made to fight but to l ove and hold each other. Our hands allow us to do everyday activities and responsibilities and do everything else we need to do to become who we are now. According to what I have found about Sarah’s poem, the idea of ‘Hands’ is that they are not just parts of our bodies, they actually represent who and what we really
attention who later on tagged her for a number of collaborations in his mixtapes. In April 2007,
This is an Interview that I conducted when checking the historical accuracy of the story. Not only was this a helpful source to that but also explained how she saw the Holocaust in her eyes of a young girl that was only a year older than Sarah.
