Linkin Park was an alternative metal band that was formed in 1996 in Los Angeles. Linkin Park originally started off as a band called Xero, which was composed of three of the members from Linkin Park. Linkin Park was known as rap-rock band, which was a mixture of rap and heavy rock. The band was made up of seven members who all contributed to that Linkin Park that signature sound. The lead singers were Mike Shinoda and Chester Bennington. Mike Shinoda was the rapper and Chester was known for his “torturous voice” as he provided the heavy rock part of the singing. Linkin Park was not officially formed until 2000 when Hybrid Theory was released. The band Xero was started in junior high when the three current members found out that they all played different instruments. They stayed together all through high school and they started to call themselves Xero. While still playing in Xero, Shinoda enrolled at the Pasadena Art Center College of Design to study graphic design. While he was there, he found out that his roommate and his brother were DJ/turntablist. His roommate was named Joseph Hahn. Mike convinced Joseph to join their band Xero, playing the turntables and DJ-ing. Joseph then convinced his brother Joe to join the band as well. By this time the band was starting to get hook some small gigs around town. While in college Brad Delson’s roommate, Dave “Phoenix” Farrell, joined the band as a bassist to try and earn some extra money. The band played around Los Angeles until a singer from Arizona named Chester Bennington joined the band. When Chester joined he had a meeting with Shinoda and they started thinking of new band names. In 1999, everyone settled on the name, Linkin Park, which was a misspelling of Lincoln Park in LA. There name was an homage to where the band first started practicing. Fall Out Boy is an American rock band formed in Wilmette, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago, in 2001. The band consists of vocalist and guitarist Patrick Stump, bassist Pete Wentz, guitarist Joe Trohman, and drummer Andy Hurley. The band originated from Chicago's hard-core punk scene, with which Wentz was heavily involved. The group was formed by Wentz and Trohman as a pop punk side project of their respective hard-core bands, and Stump joined shortly thereafter. The group went through a succession of drummers before landing Hurley and recording their debut album which became a huge success.
While this Fisk group was active in the l890s, it continued on throughout the years, of course with some different members each year and a complete turnover of members within each four years. For the most part, the singers were students at Fisk.

The Police were a three part band composed of Andy Summers the guitarist, Steward Copeland the drummer and Gordon Mathew Sumner the bass guitarist and singer. Before the band was formed Steward Copeland was part of the band Curved Air. In 1976 the band disbanded leaving Copeland without a job, or passion. Copeland yearned to join another band and reunite music with his life; coincidently he and Gordon met up at a local jazz club and appreciated each other enough to start a band. Soon after the two of them released their first song “Fall Out”, the two of them invited a Henry Padovani to join the band, who gladly accepted [why?]. In 1977 the three of them quietly toured with Mike Howlett as a project band for a Gong reunion – who Mike Howlett was formerly a part of. Copeland was almost excluded from this tour due to Mike choosing a different drummer. Luckily that drummer was busy and the band kept together. The four of them came under the name Strontium 90. A little while after that gig Andy Summers proposed to join the band on the condition that Padovani would be kicked out. Both Copeland and Gordon resisted after the idea at first due to the loyalty to Padovani, but after a few more concerts Summers was in and Padovani was informed that he was out of the band due to his limited abilities as a guitarist. Coming to distress in early 1978 the band accepted a shallow deal for money as a band in a gum commercial. The commercials director had only one condition, that they dye their hair blond for the shoot. The band consist of 8 members, Nathan East bassist/vocals, Andy Fairweather-Low, lead guitar/vocals, Steve Ferrone- drums, Chuck Leavell-key boardist, Ray Cooper- tambourines, Katie Kissoon and Tessa Niles- vocals, and Eric Clapton- composer, rock n roll guitarist, lead vocalist. The band members dressed in casual attire. The band members were professionals, they knew exactly how to orchestrate every chord, they collaborated with the lead singer and each other in ways that wasn’t so noticeable to the audience but they knew which chords to use for every song, the band was a top notch team. The tempo of the songs were a mixture of fast, slow, to a medium style beat. The texture of the songs was homophonic and well put together lyrics. The style of the music was from the 1960s-1970s which genres were rock, blues rock, psychedelic rock, hard rock, jazz and blues.
AC/DC originated in Australia, and was formed in 1973 by brothers Angus Young and Malcolm Young. They were born in Glasgow, Scotland, but then moved to Sydney Australia with most of their family in 1963. They classified themselves solely as rock n roll, but are considered to be one of the pioneers of heavy metal. They are also one of the highest grossing bands of all time. "AC/DC" is an abbreviation meaning "alternating current/direct current" electricity. They originally got the name from their older sister Margaret, who saw the initials ACDC on a sewing machine. The group was formed in New York City in August 1974 by singer Deborah Harry (b. July 1, 1945, Miami), formerly of Wind in the Willows, and guitarist Chris Stein (b. January 5, 1950, Brooklyn) out of the remnants of Harry's previous group, the Stilettos. The lineup fluctuated over the next year. Drummer Clement Burke (b. November 24, 1955, New York) joined in May 1975. Bassist Gary Valentine joined in August. In October, keyboard player James Destri (b. April 13, 1954) joined, to complete the initial permanent lineup. They released their first album, Blondie, on Private Stock Records in December 1976. Green Day began in the town of Rodeo, California, just 15 miles north of Berkeley. There, ten-year-old Billie Joe Armstrong and Michael Pritchardin met in their school cafeteria. Neither of them had had a good home life. When Billie Joel Armstrong was ten his father passed away, fragmenting his family. Armstrong found solace in his new friend and in music. He used music as an escape from his everyday life. Dirnt, was born into a family who abused drugs, and because of that he was soon adopted by a Native American mother and father who divorced when he was seven. When his mom moved north when Dirnt was 15, causing Dirnt to moved in with fellow band member Billie Joe Armstrong. The harsh life that these boys had to deal with growing up made them very aware of serious political issues and what's happening in the world, and it shows in their music.

In early 1970 the band Queen was formed. Freddie Mercury on vocals, Brian May on guitar, Roger Taylor on drums and Mike Gross on bass. They had known each other for years. All living in the town of Kensington in Britain, sometimes even living together. Brian and Roger belonged to a band called Smile, and Freddie was a very talented vocalsit playing for the band Ibex. They decided to join forces, to better themselves, and their chances of obtaining fame and fortune. After a few months with only a few gigs Mike Gross left the band. He was replaced by Barry Mitchell, who only played a few gigs with them. After a few short months they were looking for their third bass player. Roger, was at a party one night and was introduced to John Deacon, an electronics major at the University of London and a good bass player. The two hit it off, and Deacon became the new member of Queen.
