Eminem was constantly bullied and victimized, being told that he did not belong just for being white and that he was not going to succeed. He has proven that with desire, drive, and dedication anyone can accomplish their greatest goals no matter their background. Eminem has suffered to get to where he is today. The theme of suffering is embodied even in his music, “Lose Yourself” “Sing for the Moment” and “Not Afraid.” Each song demonstrates an area

In the 2002 film “8 Mile,” Eminem wrote, “Lose Yourself ” which won an Oscar for Best Original Song. The whole song is based on how he searched for a single opportunity to achieve his dream. He starts the song off with him asking “If you had one shot, or one opportunity, to seize everything you ever wanted. One moment. Would you capture it or just let it slip?”(-Lose.) Eminem did not let that opportunity slip from his grasp once he was given the chance to sign a record deal with Dr. Dre. All the tragic events that led to him being discovered, to final have his shot in the spotlight. Throughout the whole song, he expresses that once you get your shot to never let it go “do not miss your chance to blow, this opportunity comes once in a lifetime.”(-Lose.) “Lose Yourself” describes in a shorter version of his life trying to be respected as a rapper. The music video shows two sides to Eminem, the guy that had a hard time taking care of his family while trying to become a successful rapper. While the other side he comes home to his luxurious house but his own daughter does not even recognize him. Eminem knows he does not want to go back down that road. He has suffered from the time he was a child, but now he wants to “focus solely on handling my responsibilities as a father”.
Throughout the music video the scenes are of him in what seems like as perfect world but at a closer look the viewer can see that its is only part of the story, his actual walking through a broken town that could be seen as his mind that was broken ,but now he 's willing to pull his life together. He chose to get clean, in an interview he did with “60 Minutes” he admitted that he had not been sober for most if not all of his concerts. Eminem believed that he was ready for the fame but not as quickly as it came. He does not want to go back to the life he used to have; he wants to focus only on being a
“You take a record and use it to empower yourself” having growing-up in the Westside of Chicago in a neighborhood fill with violence, Lupe make a lot of records that show listeners that even with the odds against him that he use his struggle to better himself.
While Eminem portrays himself as being from Detroit, he is actually from Missouri. He moved back and forth between Detroit, Michigan and Kansas City, Missouri for most of his childhood. At the age of seventeen, Eminem started getting serious about wanting to be a rapper, giving himself the nickname M&M (meaning Marshal Mathers) and later decided to change the spelling to Eminem with the second E backwards as part of his trademark. He failed 9th grade 3 times, then dropped out, “School wasn’t for me” (Eminem). An education was the last thing on his mind. After throwing himself into the rap world on many levels, usually being shut down, he kept trying.
The relevance of the song was portraying that using drugs and alcohol will help you escape life situations. Regardless of how hard or tough it is. All you need to do is to get drunk or get high, than your problems will flush away. But the video don’t explain the reality of the outcome of how drugs and alcohol will or could affect your lifestyle and how it could lead you to lose your job, family and life. All it shows is the fun side of being intoxicated. Which, it raises a big flag on kids or teens that do have access to the media like the
Eminem, born as Marshall Mathers, has proven that with a lot of desire, drive and dedication, anybody can accomplish even their greatest of goals. Eminem was raised in the ghettos of East Detroit. He was bullied and victimized by other students in school. He worked to achieve his goal, against the odds. As a result, what he has become is one of America's most popular and successful music artists.
Throughout America’s history there have been countless influential leaders that have proudly been American. Those have held positions of politicians, soldiers, and . Kanye Omari West has opened the eyes of today's generation and still continues to shape American history. His musical influence has transformed the lives of countless people. Inspiring many to stand up and fight for what they believe in is something Kanye West continues to do even today.. Also, opening the eyes of many to racial injustice towards African American citizens. I’ll further elaborate my claim in the following paragraphs using historical evidence.

Eminem a Detroit kid rapping in just a whole in the wall place with a ambition to make it in a rap career when everyone in his family counting on him, but nobody believing in him. He was one of the only white rappers in a black community growing up and trying to make it. “What comes around goes around” is a quote from eminem when people would try to bring him down and not believe in him anymore. eminem has changed the era of white rappers before him there were no good white rappers and he is still very successful today as a rapper. eminem uses his daughter as motivation a lot and raps about her in most if not every one of his songs. Growing up for biggie wasn't much different, he had gang members trying to fight him everyday because of the life that he chosen. It was...
Unlike those previously mentioned, Eminem took a different approach which was to become the bully. This is Eminem’s downfall because he let the actions bullies would do to him turn him into to them. Rather than being a better person and telling an adult, he took a different approach a got pay back by attacking the bully. MORE. CONCLUSION SENTENCE.
The credibility given to Eminem for “keeping it real” lies in the lyrical contents of interest. The extensive use of imagery, relatable events, and feelings of empathy fuels an understanding emitted from his depiction of societal issues that teenagers closely relate to, which gives him credit for “keeping it real.” The importance of reality-based lyrics lies in the audience’s reception and relatability of the content. As Lynette Holloway notes, Eminem’s lyrics focuses on life calamities that attract a massive audience. With existential topics that challenge societal norms, and even bring up self-reflective questions in Eminem’s lyrics, it is undoubtable why his songs are so popular. This teenage-determined interpretation of “keeping it real”
Who is Eminem? People might say that he is the greatest rapper of all time. Some people think that he is inappropriate because he cusses in his music. Now in all of his songs they have a story to it. For most of his songs he talks about his life and how hard it is. In one of Eminem songs he tells a story about his family life and the song is called Mockingbird. A man who becomes a rapper and leaves his family behind but while he’s rapping all he could think about is his family. So how can someone love their family but leaves them so that they could rap. At this point the Mockingbird is about his family structure that created psychological issues.
This paper analyzes Eminem’s, “When I’m Gone”, a song whose central theme is premised on the love for family and is evident on his conversation with his daughter, Hailie. I chose this song because of the interesting conversation that brings to the fore the deep emotional ties between the Eminem and Haile. Eminem’s passion for music seems to have taken precedence over the love for his family. Hailie endures so much heartache and misses her father every time he leaves home for a global fame and success through music. Eminem loves the daughter who he says he can give an arm for but can’t stop his music career because it is his passion and
...nd doesn?t necessarily reflect the artist. Eminem has never raped anyone or killed anyone, but when he raps about it, it is just the way he feels at the moment sometimes but never engages in the action.
Changes-2pac (SLO 1) 0:00 4:30 Tupac’s “changes” are the epitome of race disparities and police brutality in the late 90s. The song is flooded with personal experiences from a seemingly never-ending cycle of violence from Pac’s perspective. The depressing lyrics tied with a melodic and upbeat chorus create an enticing listen for all of his fans. Although there are three flawless verses in this song, the first one stands out to me the most, as Pac describes what life is like as a black man in America. In the first line of the song, he mentions how he fantasizes about killing himself because he’s a poor black man in the country, and therefore, sees himself as useless.
In famous rapper Eminem’s popular hit song “Lose Yourself”, the rapper combines poetry with his skill of rapping while implementing an urban twist on the art form. Eminem includes common poetic techniques such as plot, internal rhyme, assonance and couplets and manipulates them in order to emphasize the message of his song. Through these techniques, Eminem relays a message of persevering through the struggles of life in order to transcend from poverty to success. The use of poetic techniques enables Eminem to reach his audience in a way that encourages them to pursue their dreams and goals in the face of adversity that they may experience on a regular basis.
In the middle of the song the speaker talks about how he hit rock bottom. He says that in three years he started showing signs of stress, that he didn’t care how he looked and he didn’t care about anybody. He says that he “Would get high to get by” or in other words he would get high to forget about the problems he had.
