He performed a duet with Beyonce on his song perfect, the duet hit number one in the US. Ed’s early Life Despite Edward’s success now, he did not have it so easy back then. Ed was bullied throughout his years of schooling. As a kid, he had a surgery that went wrong and left him with a lazy eye and speech problems. Whenever he tried speaking up in class, his mouth would freeze and no word would come out. Kids would mock and make fun of him him about this. Ed knew that music was his calling, so he did not give up even if he was bullied for doing what he loved. He continued to make music. Ed started to perform at venues, he had 12 shows a week and he also started to record his songs and sell CDs. At the age of 14, he took his guitar, and some clothes and headed to London to start off his career.
