When one thinks of Disneyland, they usually associate it with the phrase “Happiest Place On Earth.” Disney lovers of all ages travel from around the world to Anaheim, California to have the ultimate disney experience; to ride disney themed rides, meet characters, and experience spectacular parades and light shows. But is Disneyland really enjoyable for all ages? For children, it’s a little slice of heaven and parents seem to enjoy it too;even the elderly walk around disneyland with smiles on their faces. One audience that is often overlooked is college students. Is Disneyland the “happiest place on earth” for college students? Even before you enter Disneyland itself, it feels as if you are in a Disney movie. As soon as they scan your ticket and you walk through the booth, you are welcomed by a huge flower display that is in a shape of a Mickey Mouse, and if you’re lucky you might meet a character. Once you walk past the flowers, you hit Main Street USA. Main Street USA looks like it’s straight out of a movie; they have a city hall where you can get pins, stores galore, and characters at just about every corner. As you move about the amusement park, each area has an individual theme. Some of the theme areas include Tommorrowland, New Orleans Square, Fantasyland, and Mickey’s Toontown. Each area has its own set of rides, music, and food which gives Disneyland a unique atmosphere. Disneyland as a whole is designed to bring joy to those who attend and by playing the right kind of music, using bright and cheerful colors, and having classic Disney characters walking around, they easily achieve this goal.
