Research Paper On Christopher Columbus Conspiracy

What is a conspiracy theory? A conspiracy theory is a theory that explains an event as being the result of something by a group or organization. Most conspiracy theories are never true and are just what people might think of something for a particular event. Today, there are many conspiracy theories such as the 9/11 attacks. Many people believe that the government set up the attacks on the twin towers. This may or may not be the truth but that’s why it is a conspiracy theory. Another conspiracy theory that has many people wondering is was America discovered before Christopher Columbus?

Was it really Christopher Columbus that discovered America first? If it wasn’t Christopher Columbus that discovered America first, then who did? Many people

may believe that Columbus was the first to discover America and some people may believe that he wasn’t the first and that someone else discovered America before him. To this day, there are many opinions and conspiracies on if America was discovered before Columbus. In education you are taught that Columbus was the first to have discovered America. I believe that America was discovered before Christopher Columbus actual discovered America. Before Columbus was born, the Vikings and many other groups were believed to have found America.
One conspiracy on if America discovered before Columbus was that the Vikings beat Christopher Columbus to discovering America first.

Many historians have gathered and analyzed that it was in fact the Vikings that had discovered America first. To many historians, it was marked the 11th century when it was rumored that the Vikings had reached America. These Norse sailors were a huge group of all different types of people such as pirates, merchants, explorers, and merchants. In the group of these Norse sailors that is believed to of found America before Christopher Columbus, the leader of this group to discovering America was the famous explorer Leif Eriksson. He reportedly arrived to America in 1000 A.D., which was way before Columbus arrived in America. It is rumored that we celebrate Leif Eriksson day because of the fact that he is rumored to have found America first.

Leif Eriksson’s journey to be the first to have discovered America came along with two different stories. The first story about Eriksson’s journey was that he basically discovered America by accident. He was on his way back from Norway when he went off course and ended up discovering America. The second story was reportedly the real thing. He bought a ship, gathered up a crew of a total of thirty-five men and set sail towards America. To this day, many archaeologists have gathered a lot of evidence on Eriksson’s saga journeys on him being the first ever to reach America before Columbus reportedly did. One man named Helge Ingstad sailed around looking for any evidence of Eriksson and his Norse soldiers being the first to America. Ingstad in fact found his evidence and now has proof that they were there first before Columbus was in fact credited with being in America.
Another conspiracy theory is that besides Christopher Columbus and Leif Eriksson reportedly and unproven being one of the first to discover America, there are many other names or groups out there that may also have been the first to have discovered America.

Some of these names are the Chinese, “The First People”, etc. What does it mean when we say the “First People” that discovered America? Why are they called the “First People?” These people had a name to them. They are referred to as the Clovis people. Many archeologists experimented and now have evidence that back up their findings on how these “First People” were the first to ever discover America. Archaeologist found tracks of items that may have been left behind by these people. They found tools, human bones, etc.

Another name that floats around on being the first to have discovered America was the Chinese. What is the “1418” map? The 1418 map is a map that shows the continents and even North and South America. The impressive thing about this map created by the Chinese, was how did they know what they know what the continents, rivers, and everything else drawn on this map look like. They couldn’t of just made it up and draw anything. In this case, the Chinese must have been the first one to America. They were the first one because they had to be able to draw this 1418 map accurately which the name must of came from the year that they discovered America which was way Christopher Columbus had discovered it which brings us back to the conspiracy theory which was, Was America Discovered Before Christopher Columbus? 3
In conclusion, after doing research I believe that America was in fact discovered before Columbus. There is just too much evidence and belief that he wasn’t the first to discover America. People just believe that Columbus was the man to find America because that is what we were told growing up. That is what makes conspiracy theories so interesting. Many people make up these conspiracy theories on huge topics and many people start wondering if that is really what happened or how did this happen. The one conspiracy that we will never figure out is, Was America Discovered Before Columbus?
