Destiny's Child and Other Endeavors Beyonce form a female singing group by teaming up with her cousin Kelly Rowland, and two classmates. The manager of the band was her father, Mathew Knowles. The group faced many changes in its name before signing a deal in 1997 with Columbia Records. She soon became the most famous acts of R&B with the release of her first self-titled album. The group also scored 1st number single on the pop charts. After that they gave another smash hit, “say my name”. Along with the success of the group, Beyoncé began to explore other projects.
She made her acting debut in 2001 with a starring role in MTV's Carmen: A Hip Hopera and then co-starred with Mike Myers in Gold member spy parody.
