Everybody knows the comic, TV show, and movie legend known as Batman, but not nearly as many people have seen the newest installation in the Batman franchise, The Lego Batman Movie. While this movie may not be completely canon to the original series, it still has a new and intriguing plot line and introduces many new characters. One of these characters is Richard, an orphan that Bruce Wayne adopts. Richard becomes one of the most likable characters of the movie with his extreme determination and bravery, positive personality, and uncanny ability to learn and apply his knowledge. Richard is one of the most heroic characters in the Lego Batman movie. When he is first introduced, he is determined to do whatever he has to in order to get Bruce Wayne to adopt him. After he is adopted, Batman takes him on a secret mission to steal a piece of equipment from Superman’s fortress of solitude. Richard doesn’t even hesitate to join Batman and do whatever he needs to help. Batman is too big to fit through a vent that they need to access in order to get the equipment, so Richard does it instead. Being the adopted son of Batman, people assume they had a close relationship. Like all fathers and their children, they had a few run ins. Bruce was always hard on Dick which was often why Dick turned to Alfred for the fatherly advice.

Robin Hood and his Band of Merry Men had a successful first year. With new recruits pouring in from the furthest outreaches of England, Robin had met his objective of strengthening in number. Although he was satisfied with the size of the organization, he has realized necessary preparations had not been made to accommodate the now over abundance of members of his organization. Many challenges now face Robin such as a lack of provisions and lack of funds to support the band, but he cannot lose focus of their original foundation of "Robbing from the rich and giving to the poor". In addition they have to stay focused on their long term goal to remove Prince John from power by freeing King Richard from his imprisonment in Austria. Robin Hood has to form structure within his organization so that it can continue to grow and prosper.
