The Bahamas
One of the countries, out of two, that has ‘the’ in its name is The Bahamas. The Bahamas has a lot of interesting history and would be a great place to visit. The Bahamas is a great place to visit because of its many islands, history, multitude of animals and plants, and its wonderful climate.
First off, The Bahamas are composed of many islands and is located in the Caribbean Sea. The Bahamas make up 700 islands. Those islands are located in the gateway to the Gulf of Mexico, around Central America, and in the Caribbean Sea. The islands extent is 13,939 square kilometers. It is said that The Bahamas has one of the clearest water in the world. The Bahamas has over 2,00 low bank reefs and rocks. One of the islands are New Providence. New Providence is home to the capital city, Nassau, and is the largest island. It’s home to about 70% of the population due to its large quantity of space. The reason for this is because the word bajamar means shallow water. Although most people believe its name comes from the Lucayan. The Lucayan are the people who first settled in The Bahamas.
