Animal Testing
Should Animals of all kind be tested and hurt to find cures and medicine safe for humans? Animal testing is horrible it should be stopped, In this essay you’ll be reading about how bad animal testing.
Animal testing shouldn’t be continued because it’s cruel and inhumane. Animal testing started in the mid 19th century, hurting these animals to find cures for diseases. Louis Pasteur and his so called buddy’s studied infectious diseases in domestic animals. He tasted his hypothesis by examining the guts of chickens that were suffering from cholera (Botting and Morrison). They also tested on rabbits, yes cute little fluffy tailed rabbits and guinea pigs which people think that they’re some kind of rat, but they’re not.

Are there laws about animal testing? Using animals for testing is legally- sanctioned animal abuse. 100 million animals are exploited in biomedical, aeronautic, automotive, military, agricultural, and cognitive research. 95% of these animals are not protected by the law (Animal Legal Defense fund). Vivisection is one of the worst forms of institutionalized animal abuse in our society. Animals in lab live stressful, monotonous , and unnatural lives of deprivation. Over 2.5 million animals are used in biomedical experimentation, product and cosmetic testing. This includes—dogs, cats, ferrets, rabbits, pigs, sheep, monkeys, chimpanzees, and more (Neavs).
Animals and humans are similar yet different at the same time. Scientists kill more than 100 million animals a year. Animals like mice, rats, frogs, dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, monkeys, fish and birds. Animals and humans feel the same things. They empathy, fear, anger, disgust. Who else has those feelings, oh yeah humans. We have those exact feelings. So how would you feel if you became a test subject and you were tortured and hurt and beat to get answers for scientists.
Animals being used for testing is cruel and inhumane. From what you’ve heard about animal testing, let’s hope you know bad it is, and how it should be stopped. Animal testing may help humans but what if the animals that they use go extinct. Then no one can have them as a pet or just to look at. They are killing animals left and right. If you thinks animal testing is a good you might be heartless human
One must remember that scientists who carry out animal testing are human to and most definitely do feel some sense of guilt using these animals for the sole reason to benefit mankind. However, “if there were good alternatives to animals that worked better or as well, for less money and hassle, scientists would use them” (Source D). Many believe that animals testing is wrong, but they must understand that at the current time there is no other option. It is difficult to find a different practice has been so substantial and has improved millions of lives and society as a whole. Animal testing, though the testing on animals may not be the best option, the after effects of testing has been successful over the past decades and will continue on this path as scientists and researchers gain more knowledge. There may be a point in time that society becomes so better off that there would be no more need to test
SUMMARIZE: The article grants information on new models in cosmetics to take the place of animal experimentation. It goes on to talk about how the European Union has now banned using animal-based test for cosmetic reasoning. Pharmaceutical companies and regulatory agencies have been using computer-like tools to assess the toxicity it has for years. The author incorporates information on cosmetics and the outlook on further research. ‘According to experts, combination of laboratory-based with virtual work will be the future of testing and is progressing faster than they expected.” (87 words)
Everyday, tons of innocent animals lose their life because of animal testing. The animals have no choice. Also, they suffer extremely. Animal testing is bad and should be banned to alleviate the torture of animals, prevent illnesses in the animals, and prove that it doesn’t always work the same on humans as it did on animals.
Right now, millions of animals—including mice, rats, dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs and monkeys—are locked in tight cages in laboratories waiting in fear for the next terrifying and painful lab experiment to be performed on them. (“Animals Used for Experimentation”) Such testing is used for things like biology lessons, medical training, curiosity-driven experimentation, and general cosmetic testing. (“Animal Experiments: Overview”) Animal testing should not continue in our world being that animals have rights similar to us, rights to live a life free of torture, free of being held against their will in a laboratory. Furthermore, animal testing is inhumane, it violates the lives of all animals used in such testing, it is very expensive for the inaccuracy of the results we obtain from it and it is unreliable as animals differ from humans in many ways. (“Pros and Cons of Animal Testing Facts”)
Current animal testing has been a contentious subject ever since it started off 150 years back. Although a lot of people discover animal testing inhumane and egoistic, it is an important factor to boost our understanding of medication and to improve our understanding of science. Animal testing, to some, is the way to ameliorate our level of living and preserve many lives, and therefore has many benefits. On the other hand, the negatives may not be passed, and scientists are constantly trying to decrease the damage with some methods they create in the process. Even so, to the dismay of numerous animal lovers in addition to those who are endeavoring for animal rights, animal testing will not be stopped every time soon because, for now, it is the most trustworthy form of testing that includes the safety of daily products we use more carefully than any other procedure.
Animal Testing is one of the most horrible things you could do to an animal. When an animal is tested you could cause it to become crippled for the rest of its life whether they make it blind or even making it to become paralyzed you could even cause extreme pain or death.
Evidence of animal testing can be found in greek writing as early as 500 B.C. Clearly showing that animal testing has been around for a long time, but only recently has it become a topic of real concern. Used for the purpose of developing medical treatments that could one day benefit humankind, determine the toxicity of medications (usually in at least two animal species), and to check the safety of products that are destined for human use. http://animal-testing.procon.org/ Animal testing has sprouted debate among the human population. Proponents of animal testing argue that animal testing is necessary to achieve medical breakthroughs, without animal testing who would they use for experiments, and that animal testing is important for learning. Arguments for those against animal testing include the fact that animals are biologically different than humans, they are caged in inhumane living conditions, must undergo painful experiments, and it is extremely costly.
Today, millions of animals are being tested for the use of human products, causing them to fall ill and die, leaving them no choice but to be experimented on. Animal abuse can be more than what meets the eye. Specifically, animal testing is a form of animal abuse and usually ends in the death of a harmless animal. Some might say that there is no other way to test products, but due to the harm that is done and our advancements in science, animal testing should not be tolerated. Our advancements in science have enabled us to create other things that we can test on, instead of harming innocent animals.
Thesis: Because animal testing has harmful effects on the animal, it should not be used.
However, as people think about animal rights, and the news that animals are suffering in the experiment, people began to consider stopping all animal testing. Animal testing should not be banned, because it both benefits humans and animals, especially the medical animal testing should be reserved. According to the book “Science, Medicine, and Animals” by the Committee on the Use of Animals in Research, National Academy of Sciences (1991), the animals also provide protection to a lot of endangered animals. Scientists can invent medicine, which is used to treat animal diseases, from animal experiments.
Animal Testing Every year over 100 million animals, such as guinea pigs, mice, cats, dogs, pigs, frogs and many others are tested on. These animals are tested for cosmetics, medical research, biology lessons, food, chemicals, drugs and even just curiosity-driven experiments. Animal testing is inhumane and should only be used for medical purposes. For starters, animal testing is inhumane and cruel. According to Human Society animals breath in toxic fumes.
Animal testing for cosmetic and medical purposes has been fundamentally necessary in American manufacturing since the early 1900s. The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, or more commonly known as, PETA, estimates that each year, over 100 million animals are murdered in the testing process of new drugs, cosmetics, and antibiotics. In 1938, the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) passed the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act, which forces companies to test products extensively before they are available for mass consumption. This act has saved hundreds of lives from potentially fatal allergic reactions, but most consumers are unaware of the horrific trials that animals endure to manufacture a profitable product.
The Papal Encyclical Evangelium Vitae recognises that animals have both an intrinsic value and a place in God's kingdom. ( BBC, 2009) An animal test is any logical test or test in which a live animal is forced to experience something that is probably going to cause them torment, distress, trouble or lasting harm. Animals used as a part of research centers are purposely hurt, not for their own good, and are generally killed toward the end of the experiment. In God's arrangement man and woman have the vocation of "subduing" the earth as stewards of God. This power isn't to be a subjective and dangerous leader. God calls man and woman, made in the picture of the Creator "who loves everything that exists", to partake in his provision toward different animals; henceforth their duty regarding the world God has endowed to them. (BBC,2009)
In conclusion, animal testing not only violates animals’ rights but also is not the best way to research. And the genes are different between animals and humans. Humans need to improve their ways to get the scientific experience and forbid animal testing in order to improve our lives and animals’ lives.
Should animal testing should be banned? Well, in these next paragraphs they're going to be explaining about how animal testing should be banned. Most of these paragraphs are going to be talking about animal cruelty, wasteful animal testing, and how animal testing is dangerous to humans and animals. In this essay, it will prove that animal testing should be banned for many reasons. Also it will tell, why should animal testing should be banned.
