Addiction is everywhere from celebrity to television and possibly to a family member or close friend. There is a huge definition for the word addiction it can mean alcoholism drug abuse and gambling addiction either way the effects of such are devastating Eventually addiction causes the lives of individuals to get downward in a desperate search to regain the sense of balance that their addiction initially gave them Director Darren Aronofsky of Requiem for a Dream introduces this idea perfectly as this work make the dramatic spiral experienced by its characters. Requiem For A Dream tells the tragic story of four people whose lives and dreams were destroyed because they all lost control of their minds and bodies because of different drug addictions.
Requiem for a Dream is a movie on how drugs can affect the life of anyone involved. The film shows the lives of Tyrone and Harry through a series of scenes displays them before during and after doing drugs.
The story involves the character's dream chasing. Harry wants to be rich his mother wants him to be married and happy, and Marion wants to be a part of his life. He talks her into dating her therapist so she can get some money to keep Harry's drug business going. …show more content…

They begin to run low on money and begin to become frustrated with one another. As Harry’s arm is amputated due to infections from heroin needles Marion is forced into prostitution. Tyrone remains locked away where we see he is struggling with withdrawals. And then there’s Sarah who becomes crazy from too many diet pills. They placed her in a center to get some help. The movie ends in a very powerful way with Sarah dreaming about herself being on the show and Harry running his own company and being engaged the opposite of what the reality really
