This essay tends to discussion the relationship between the arts and the growing body of scientific knowledge attained during the Renaissance period. It explains how artist used new scientific knowledge such as perspective in creating their work. The Renaissance period marks the beginning of European civilization characterized by a surge of interest in values and quest for knowledge that represented their liberty and freedom. It was a rebirth of interest pivoted towards two specific needs; an artistic achievement of Greece and Rome initially and a great sense of the accomplishment of human effort normally coined as “humanism” which later extended beyond the borders of Greece and Italy specifically to northern Europe. He studied anatomy which correctly portrayed his human subjects and some of his paintings like “Last Super and Mona Lisa” Art was based on the observation of the visible world and practiced according to mathematical principles of balance, harmony, and perspective, which were developed at this time. Painters such as Masaccio, the brothers Pietro and Ambrogio Lorenzetti, Sandro Botticelli, just to name a few also excelled in their works. Sculptors such as Donatello, Michelangelo, Giovanni Pisano etc made enormous contributions to transform arts. Furthermore, architects such as Filippo Brunelleschi, Leon Battista Alberti, Filarete etc. All helped to shape the art work that has stood the test of time. These artists (Painters, sculptors, architects) among others helped preserved their dignity and found expression in their respective art
