Everybody believes in something, whether it be a person, a thing, a religious being or not, or just believing in your dreams, everybody has beliefs. No person's beliefs are exactly identical, however, the people that are part of specific religious communities, definitely have similar beliefs. Some people within the same spirituality may believe in the same religious figure but not participate in the same rituals, or they may study specific scriptures but not always agree with all of the messages that are to be followed. Most religions have their own separate branches, that are similar to each other but still hold many differences, while other religions are so greatly different, with completely different beliefs. Hindus believe in a Supreme Being who is immanent and transcendent, both Unmanifest Reality and Creator. He is the personal form of their Ultimate Reality, having many deities that each represent different characteristics. Hinduism believes that the Supreme Being is the God of all Gods of all religions thus explaining why Hinduism is a monotheistic polytheism. The Hindu religion believes in the sacred scriptures called the Vedas, which are written in Sanskrit. They are the most ancient sacred texts, however, they do not have only one sacred book but several scriptures. They have the 4 Vedas and also the Upanisads, The Smrutis, Ramayana, Mahabharata and the Puranas. The Vedas scriptures help Hindus in their daily lives, while the other scriptures share traditions, tell old tales, beliefs in the nature of the soul, and some tell poems. To many Hindus, religion is not about beliefs, but the practice of religion. Hindus believe in a universal soul called Braham, and they believe that all people have a part of Braham within them which is called the Atman. They believe in reincarnation, a belief that the body is temporary but the soul is eternal, whether it be in a human, animal, or plant body etc. Practices of Hinduism include ceremonies centering around birth, marriage, and death.
